So cool to see such a young and diverse crew!
Great to see young fine men carrying on the trades of skilled labors and willing to put in hard work for their incomes. I started out as a residential painter in construction at age 19 and worked for 24 years till I got tired of the B.S. Our painting crew were very young as well, whereas masonries , carpenters, framers, concrete flatworkers, roofers, electrciains, sheetrockers, wood floor installers, , so much to name, were diversed in age , but those young guys had to learn from the old guys the tricks of the trades somehow.
Cool to see young people picking up the trades. Keep on keeping on.

You guys are so young and I love the setups. I’m a journeyman carpenter over in California and I mainly do commercial ceiling installs, acoustic solutions and wood ceilings. I just ordered or am in the process of ordering (already exchanged emails with Joel) a ceiling guy specific Badger Belts rig.
That sounds sick! Joel is a great guy, looking forward to getting more from him in the future!
I like to load up with just the tools I need for the immediate task at hand to keep my bags as light as possible, with my tool chest or trailer near by with what I'll need that day.
I agree! And surprisingly, everything I keep in my bags I use several times every day
The more you know, the less you carry. Keep a small tote bag nearby with the other tools you aren't using at the moment.
I’m gonna have to use the block for the tape measure. That’s the most annoying thing about my current diamondback setup

Back in the day I was actually on the left side… then when I got my occies I just used the tape pocket and now I can’t switch back 😭
I prefer tape on the left since I mark with my right hand.

@@santi73k it's an efficiency thing. You have the tape measure on your non dominant side and your pencil on your dominant side so you don't have to switch hands on anything when marking lines.
Seems obvious to me if you hold the pencil in your right hand. Speed square also goes on non-dominant side for the same reason.
What if I'm ambidextrous?

I got rid of my tool belt set up and bought a Saratoga tool vest with the molly system .best decision I ever made . no more back problems way more comfortable .
Do you ever have issues with it being hot? Or tools falling out when you lean forward?
No its made of a durable military mesh so I don't have issues of being too hot .
Stabile makes a holster for that torpedo that I use on my back right side. Works great

I have a set of badgers I bought about a month ago, I really like them. Have a couple of sets of occidental adjust to fit and had a couple of sets before that I sold on eBay..

What's the name of Landon's razor knife? I've looked and didn't find one similar, i love the small size and color
Fatmax, Martinez m1, johnson square, 9" catspaw, kesson box, and a knife, I ditch my snips and pliers for roof day. Maybe one day I'll drag a coil nailer through the trusses, but for now stick nails hold most my bags real estate.

I was an o lineman in college 🤣 I can stand some exteriors on my own but I lose a lot of shit squeezing through studs and trusses. Had a Milwaukee, then a Tajima, but the kesson sits deepest in my bags lmao.

This, plus a beater chisel and air tool. Light and simple. A tool bag near by for everything else.

I glued in a small piece of PVC into the back loop of the diamondbacks to hold a cats paw better…

For me I got used to it because that’s how the occidental toolbags came.
But now I prefer it, because while putting away my tape with my right hand, my left hand is already grabbing my square to finish the line

Question? I removed all tools from my belt and w/o naming a ballistic belt! Guess what they were both very light however my belt was a slight bit heavier by that I mean 2 pounds?
I am a finish carpenter (contractor I Sub out to a GC).
I own a very expensive set of Akribis Leathers with a solid place for everything! The leathers are molded to your body on a sewing horse the Owner uses (Luke) and he calls you when u order a custom belt!
I am older than you guy by min and owned all the belts. I wore most out which kind of looked like the ones you gave away? The badger buckle system is nice but wait until you see the one Akribis uses!

All of you have different tape measures, have you checked to see it they read the same? I've found that some tapes measures differently then others..
I actually haven’t 🤔 granted in framing it wouldn’t be outside of the tolerances

How do your hips feel? Not to much weight? Do they make suspenders for the belts?
Yes they do! My hips feel the best of any brand so far without suspenders, but when I do use suspenders I use stretchy pants suspenders, and they are the PERFECT solution!

Yes! The original one was like that, but the G2 has a blade like a fat max it’s my new favorite
How long did you take to easily slide the stiletto hammer into the hammer sleeve? It is so hard to get in and out.
I wrapped electrical tape on the end of the handle and that helped a ton!

alright guys and gal. I am a slim guy that has absolutely no fat on my hips. I do intend on getting a set of suspenders, but looking for a very heavily padded belt first. Unfortunately, most hardware stores carry a scant selection of belts in which to try on and test. I see that that y'all are a slim bunch and would like to know if you know of a belt that really stands out as far as padding, or any hacks to otherwise a good belt. Name brand, color, etc mean nothing to me. This old guy is looking for comfort and durability.
