You can also go into the core options of the FBA core and set it to use the Unibios which are included in the bios file, in there you can set whether or not your games are in AES or MVS and change region.

@@isruler search for fba fullset or mame fullset (or romset) in the archive.org. You don't need to download the entire library, just click "show all files" or "show all" and search in your browser for "neogeo", click and download it

A quick answer to your question: BigBox>Options>Keyboard Mappings (or Controller Buttons)>Switch View. Set that to whatever key or button you want. Then, when viewing platforms or games in BigBox, hit that button. You can cycle all the different views using it. Hope this helps.

I had problems with this, but I just found a solution. Some of the NeoGeo games wouldn't start. I tested with the game Andro Dunos, and it didn't work. So, insted of choosing the 'Arcade FB Alpha' core in RetroArch, I chose to use the core named 'Arcade Mame 2010'. As far as I know, it depends on the collection of roms you have. Some rom-sets works best with some cores. Now it runs perfectly. Hope this can help others.

I can play them just fine if I scan manually; however, I only get the filenames, not the actual games and the icons aren't those of the NeoGeo. Launchbox doesn't seem to be available in Android. Is it possible to do all of this only on Retroarch? Do I need to watch the video again? Thx in advance.
Tried over and over again. I get to the point where the game shows up. I go to open it and nothing happens. Not even an error message. The main difference between AES and MVS is that MVS is like the arcade machine, you throwin a credit and play, the only way to change options is via dipswitches, whereas the AES you get a screen between pressing start and the game start, that gives you the ability to change the options (and in KOF, the ability to choose the type of game you want to play)

This doesn't work in 2023 unfortunately. Followed this exactly. The only difference is that the fbalpha cores are now 2012 versions which have 2012 included in the core name.
I know this reply is really late but if your still trying to get this working perhaps I can help. Do your games boot if you launch them directly from retro arch. Go to load content, select your game, load archive and then it’ll ask you which core to use, select fba 2012. If this works I think your problem is probably that launch box is looking for the wrong core. I can talk you through fixing this if needed. If they still don’t load you probably have a bad romset or your missing the bios file
Clint Caillouet I was the same neither worked for me. I can only assume something has changed in either retroarch or launch box since he made these videos. I’ve got it working myself though. Happy to try and help if I can?
The bios was on the desktop, but I didn't see where it was placed once all of the roms were imported

Aren't ALL the neogeo game part of the MAME set?

set the core to use Unibios, when unibios starts hold down the BCD buttons, this will setup the cabinet, then change the options.
Some AES games give you limited continues too.

What does fbalpha_libretro.dll have over fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro.dll?
2012 is just an old version. You should be matching the version with your romset version.
