Empty Floats the Day After Mardi Gras

After the parades end and the floats are emptied of people and beads, most floats are recycled for another parade or another year. But, in the immediate aftermath of Mardi Gras, I came across a parking lot of empty floats. Without animation, these garish, land yachts seemed adrift.
