    I tried carrying a full size 1911 with threaded barrel, for about a few months in a tropical beach area with tshirts and shorts. Its IWB, and i have a medium built, small tummy but generally fit. The only drawback is the sweat eventually pitted the frame underneath the left grip. 1911 is actually not that hard to carry, as its very slim.

      Y.. Iv been washing my kydex holster and wiping down my gun almost everyday. Come in soaked and check right away,guns wet in the same small area. Doesn’t take long .don’t like doing it but do. Check & clean that area extra good now and then. Dk if it makes any difference but use a little penetrating oil around there and let it sit overnight.in the sun sometimes. Wipe off any residue & No rust yet.

      A piece of scrap leather & some flex glue on the back of the holster (trim to the holster but leave some extra,wear it a few days & do a final trim.you will see where it needs to be trimmed.Helps with any little hotspots and helps keep it where you want it to be. Done right,it helps with the sweat getting in there too & doesn’t get in the way of anything)works for me anyway. Also,using a monoblock & a kore nylon that FINALLY BROKE IN & took the shape of my hips with heavy guns,a groove life (on sale $40 once in a while & that’s pushing it on costs imho.thought it would be crap but good with lighter/smaller guns.leather kore next & clips,the mossimo ,sp? Holster,might try that holster but they sell wire clips that are real discrete.might be good. Dk yet. 5-10 bucks.will see. ) The right owb can work too. With just a tshirt. . I’ve studied up on this stuff waay too long. BUT, I don’t have much stuff I don’t use. The box of shame or whatever. I use 2-3 holsters for some guns. Different times of year,camping ect. 1 thing is not many ppl pay attention to anything but themselves. Take care.

    You’re unnecessarily concerned about a wearing a cover shirt on a hot day. No one is paying attention to anything these days. I routinely wear this type of clothing with OWB carry. A T shirt is a must on a hot day because it allows for evaporative cooling. I live in north Texas where summer days routinely exceed 100 degrees and well over that with the heat index. It’s important also to stay hydrated with a non-sugary electrolytes.

Small of back carry, even carry on the back side that you demonstrated is physically very difficult for me. I have a number of Hawaiian shirts, etc that give good cover. Belly band/cross draw are working for me now with a full sized carry. Thanks for some new thoughts you brought up. Keep up the good work.

    As far as shirts on hot days go, you can get away with one of those very thin tank tops that are basically see-through as an undershirt. I wouldn't want to be caught dead with one of those as my only shirt, but they do a nice job preventing chafing of a textured grip and as a sweat guard.
    What most people don't realize is that multiple layers of clothing can actually be better for body temperature on hot days compared to a single shirt. Quite a bit of the sun rays will pass through your shirt and heat up your body, and a second layer can help against that. If done right, you can get away with two shirts, have less body temperature issues on a very hot day at the same time and still have that single shirt look.

      Any recommendations on brands? I have problems with overheating, and this sounds like a good solution for me.

    • @user-vz5lu7bu3y
      @user-vz5lu7bu3y 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Sanguivore Being a cheapskate when it comes to clothing, I don't really buy brands.
      For the inside shirt, what you want is very light fabric, with a weave that isn't too tight, so if you're at the store just try to hold it against a ceiling light and if it shines through it is good.
      For outside shirt, best I have for hot days are a batch of very loose fitting linen shirts with long sleeves. Sounds crazy to go with long sleeves in summer, but they help prevent the sun from heating up the blood in your arms.
      If you're really struggling with heat, very loose pants covering up at least down to your knees help a lot, prevents the sun from heating up the blood in your legs, the basic idea here is always to allow airflow, but prevent direct sunlight on as much of your skin as possible. Also light colors like cream or eggshell, those don't transfer heat as much as darker colors when touching your skin.
      I'm a very light-skinned guy and tend to get severe sunburn super fast, so I'm actually wearing really baggy lightly colored full length pants, for women it is even easier I guess since there are plenty of fashionable loose summer skirts to chose from.

      @@user-vz5lu7bu3y That is super helpful! Thank you! ☺️ I don’t know why, but I hadn’t thought about incorporating the longsleeves into my hot weather wardrobe, but I’m definitely gonna start doing that now!
      I’m going to look for some decently thin undershirts today! Thank you, my friend.

    • @vidiupload4174
      @vidiupload4174 Месяц назад +1

      Another benefit to wearing layers in hot weather is that the fabric of the undershirt dissipates sweat and by doing so, makes it easier to evaporate, helping to cool a larger area of your body, instead of having drops of sweat running down your skin. An important factor is the use of cotton/poly instead of 100% cotton, because cotton, unlike cotton/poly, will just concentrate the moisture in the immediate area, creating an uncomfortable, sopping mess.

      If you haven't decided yet, I'd recommend going with a compact for edc first. Once you get more experience, you can move to a full size. A full-size requires more effort and money. You need a good holster and belt as well. With a small polymer compact, it doesn't matter quite as much.

      Id recommend something mid sized that can take larger mags also. My first was an FNS9C. I would carry it with 12 round mag, then have the 17 round mag if I had the clothing to conceal it that day.
      Still big enough to shoot very well and could be small enough to conceal in shorts and tee shirt. Nowadays I carry a CZ P10C most of the time and a shield plus when I need deep concealment (shorts and t shirt. Good nylon gun belt is a must! Happy carrying!

All my Carry pistols have Night sights some have Crimson Trace Laser Grips and I am a BIG FAN of the GALCO Combat Master or DeSantis Speed Scabbard plus I always carry a double magazine holder with the same size magazine that is in the pistol except with the 1911 and P220 45acp which I have 10rd Factory Magazine and I ONLY carry Factory mags except for my 1911s because I carry Wilson Combat 47D 8rd mags. I purchased a few Wilson Combat 500 8 round magazines a few years ago and I was not impressed so I went back to the 47D mag. My belt of choice is normally a 5.11 Tactical Instructor belt 1.75 inch double thick nylon or a Kore Belt that is reinforced. I also like to wear Under Armour Tshirts over a one size bigger Tactical button up short sleeve shirt from 5.11 or Blackhawk untucked with just a middle buttons done so I can get a quick grip on my sidearm. I am now retired from the Military so no more uniforms or business suits I am very Florida Casual with cargo shorts or pants and the tactical shirt that have the deep breast pockets that go down to the side.

    When I was a younger man I’d shove a 1911A1 in the waistband of my jeans at the 5 o’clock position and toss on a T shirt. Spare mag in back left pocket. If I was going on a 3-5 mile run I’d wear cutoff Levi’s and Adidas running shoes with the t shirt. You are going to sweat on it, and you need to keep it oiled up. I have drawers full of holsters but I still primarily carry stuffed into my jeans. It was once known as Mexican style carry. I’ve carried S&W Model 10 thru 29, Colt Peacemakers, Wather PPk and PPs M2, Glocks, and Most Sigs from P220 through P365 that way. Lees or Levi’s with a good belt a good fitting pair of jeans is my perfect holster. If there really are people who want you dead, carrying a 45 is the right choice, especially when you’re out for a jog.

      I have the same one that i have been working on concealing. I found that for my body type (athletic with a medium gut) 1 o clock works best. I have an Eclipse holster with the claw and i put it RIGHT after that belt loop, then angle the muzzle towards the inner thigh so that i can squat comfortably. One thing i highly recommend, is modifying your holster. I cut a lot from where the holster touched my thigh and buffed it with a Dremel to make the end as smooth as possible. once i did that, i can confidently say that it is for sure concealable in just a t shirt. it is super conformable right now. i can even drive with it or work sitting down. When i sit, i push the grip of the gun forward to go over the belly and sit. then adjust back when i stand up before i start walking again. TLDR: dont be afraid to cut or shave down your holster! it makes a HUGE difference.

      Heck, yes. Like I said in the video, give a belly band a go, it works wonders--as long as the gun is thin. Belly band doesn't need a belt and makes minimum bulge around your middle. Depending on the shorts (70's NBA?) you might want a shorter barrel such as the 4.25-inch on a 1911 Commander or an old-school S&W Model 39. Make sure the shirt is long enough so when you raise your arms it doesn't hike up above the waistband. Thanks for watching, and stay safe out there. Cheers.

    I disagree with almost all of this content. A belly band in the summer?! Why not wear a stocking cap also?
    IWB and leather would also be miserable too. I wear bathing suit thin / polyester golf shorts and a light wicking tee. I use a high quality gun belt, like a NEXbelt, an OWB kydex THIN / sweat resistant holster, like the Bravo Concealment, and a full sized Lightweight model & thin/narrow 1911 / Glock / HK VP9 that can take some abuse (non-wood / non-blued) so I don’t fret. I live in a Free State that doesn’t have “anti printing laws” so a “blousier” thin tee to cover it.
    It’s hard to type and listen to belly bands, vests, leather, breaking your spine “guaranteed” or “still drop your pants” and wearing cotton. I live in Oklahoma and the heat index was 109° today.
    I used to carry pocket pistols, but in these more recent times of mass shooters nearly every day, I’ve chosen to step it up to a Duty Sized firearm-but I still gotta do stuff throughout the day outside and I can’t have a sweaty leather, poking IWB, or for Gods sakes A BELLY BAND?! Carry comfortably and you’ll carry more often, even if that means stepping all the way down to an NAA mini revolver in a swimsuit, which is what I do when I boat…
    Again, poor content here IMHO
