No they leave three units at our facility when a unit corn or soy train comes in and our people operate them as they unload them. When they get done csx is called they send a crew in and send the empty back west

I presume that this locomotive type has in-cab cameras since this is a rebuilt locomotive? Just curious.

@@hubbard665 They are more than just a trespassing tool. They watch the train crew live 24 hours a day 7 days a week to make sure that they are not making any violations. It was mostly put in place due to the accident in 2008 because a Metrolink Engineer ran a Red Signal and collided head on with a Union Pacific train and the engineer was texting on his phone. Its why going into the cab if you are not a railroad employee is a more of a risk than it ever was because they WILL catch you on that camera and they WILL prosecute you for it without hesitation. Its unfortunate but that is just the way it is.

I am just gonna say, he kinda has a point. Although he could've been more diplomatic, climbing aboard the locomotive is something you shouldn't do nowadays if you aren't a a railroad employee.
Most of the engines on CSX's Roster (Except for a few of the older model Diesels) have Inward and Outward facing cameras that record 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days out of the year the people who climb on and off the engines and are watched continuously. CSX would not hesitate to file a trespassing charge in the event a person is caught in the cab and basically doesn't have the requirements to be there so I can see where the concern arises.
Its stupid but this ain't the 1990s to early 2000s anymore when train crews would let you into the cab with virtually no hesitation. Nowadays the Federal Railroad Administration is very strict about Authorized Personal Only being in the cab to the point its Stasi level type sh*t.

It's unfortunate that you didn't answer my question about whether you were authorized to be climbing up on that locomotive in your video. My first comment to you was rather harsh, because I thought you were a know-nothing foamer, making a video without permission, to be on that railroad equipment. I edited my comment to acknowledge that you said you were an employee of the elevator where those locomotives were parked. I asked if you were on a break, and if you were authorized to be on those locomotives, because it was obvious that you knew nothing about the locomotive. I worked forty-two years as a railroader, and I encountered many unauthorized trespassers on locomotives and freight cars, and I don't think it's a good idea to encourage foamers, or curious morons to explore railroad equipment.

@@crosstiewalker803 As a railroad engineer working for CSX for the past 25 years, your comments are stupid. I have done local runs to grain elevators and there is nothing wrong with workers of grain elevators hopping onboard locomotives as long as they don’t move them (which chances of that are very slim). And before you tell me that this guy is encouraging people to trespass, no he isn’t. There is nothing wrong with making a video of the coolest part of your job. There is a reason why there is fences with barbed wire and tons of no trespassing signs in facilities like these. And before you call me a “no-nothing foamer”, just know that I’ve been working for the railroad for 25 years and have never encountered people trespassing.

@@Rhhe-8729 Your claim of lack of encounters with unauthorized people on railroad equipment and property, is either a lie, or you've been extremely fortunate. Unless you're stupid, you should've been able to see that this guy's duties don't include operating those units to load or unload a train. He was only able to demonstrate the adjustments on the swiveling seat. I don't know where you work, and I don't really care where you work. I knew a very few railroaders that were closet foamers, are you one of those?
