How Did Australia Score The Best Try of 2022 v South Africa? The Rugby Championship | Rugby Analysis

- The Rugby Championship 2022 Round 3 clash between Australia and South Africa was full of big moments, but for me Fraser McReight's try that topped off an incredible pre-planned strike move was the pick of the lot!
So, how did Australia score the best try of 2022? I take a deep look at how Nic White manoeuvres around the breakdown and how Australia plan their attack. Goal line re-starts provide a great attacking opportunity and Australia made the most of what they knew about the South Africa defence.
There's also a bit to be said for a subtle block from McReight that potentially stopped Koch from filling the space left by Kitsoff.

What an incredible game of rugby! I know there's plenty of channels out there who would prefer to talk about refereeing decisions, but I can't help but be more interested by the rugby. What do you think? I'd also love to hear your thoughts on the try?
Illegal as per how the ref blew the opposition. Side entry and neck roll to set it up. No consistency. See TAS Analytics review. The South Africans got penalised for the same offences.
great to see you posting again. Quality stuff as always! Koch really tries to sell that dive to the ref. (We need Nige himself there ..."nid pêl-droed mo hwn!")
TAS analytics is the single worst example of ‘rugby analysis’ I’ve ever encountered. It’s a shame that such platforms get a voice & even worse that good people fall for the low IQ content.
It’s been quite a while so thought I’d best get my self back on it! A great saying from Nigel!
@@GeraintDaviesGDD Of course I used Google Translate for that quip (which would have been extra-cheeky had he actually uttered it in Cymraeg!)
Great analysis, hope you continue to do good work!
Appreciate it, David 👌🏻
This was great! Thank you.
Thank you for taking a look 👍🏻
Excellent analysis, thanks
Thank you for taking a look!
Great analysis. Thanks.
Thank you, Kevin 👍🏻
Excellent explanation. I'm pretty new to rugby, so I find your videos very helpful in understanding the game. Cheers.
That’s very kind of you. Very glad you enjoyed it!
try squidge rugby as well... a different style of breakdown... I found GDD's channel via that YT channel. cheers.
@@Headhunter_212 thanks, mate
great analise, waiting for new ones
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
As a Leinster and Ireland fan that particular play is very, very familiar. Healy vs Clermont in 2012 and Kearney vs England in 2014 being the 2 most obvious examples. Clever blocks at the ruck being crucial in all of them too.
One more to add to the list after the France game!
yeah but also the healy try it looked more like clermont were too tired got too worried about the outside of the defense on both sides since neither Leon Cullen nor the other forward blocked the defensive path (which was almost non existent since there was no defender to cover the first post of the ruck to begin with) that much unlike here where if there's a more rigorous referee he could have awarded an obstruction penalty. Brilliant move though.
Anyone got a simple explanation for inside and outside shoulder ? I’m struggling to explain it and now overthinking it lol. Any help please, cheers
Incredible neck roll and side entry to set it up. Ref blew the two sides differently.
Come off it.
@@GeraintDaviesGDD Refs got to start being fair otherwise rugby will lose a lot of support. Lot's of my friends have stopped watching for that reason, and I'm not far from it. Pathetic at the moment.
@@GeraintDaviesGDD The Saffas come squealing about the refs after every loss, as predictably as the Sun rising in the East. On every single platform.
I think it’s a huge shame that the discourse has gone down this line in South Africa. A country so proud of its heritage. I’d suggest ignoring the accounts that spent their time slagging off referees & instead focus on the joy of the game.
@@GeraintDaviesGDD best possible answer, thank you!
Watching this analysis shows how Australia got away with murder in the breakdowns - side entries and falling over the ball.
I can confirm that is not what this video shows. I focus on the rugby.
it's not the best try of 2022
Which one would you go for?
