(Like a Pope or Patriarch) Right now however there’s a schism between the true ruling class and the temporary Trump regime. They’re doing all that they can to remove him from the position because, after all, It’s their religious duty. They first tried to avoid the catastrophe of his election by spreading mass propaganda 24/7. It didn’t work. Then they tried to get a recount going. That didn’t work. Next they accused him of colluding with Russian agents to rig the election. Not guilty. After that, they tried to get him impeached. He was acquitted. Now they’re going to try to beat him in the next election. I guess we’ll see how that turns out.
There was a book that Vonnegut wrote named, 'Mother Night,' that everyone should read. It's about a poet / actor who, while living in Germany, does a broadcast on behalf of the Nazis and Nazism while also sending classified information to the Allied forces through the broadcast. At the end he finds out that the Nazis knew that he 'thought,' he was a spy working against them. In the main scene, the Nazi who was handling him says that from their perspective he was doing more for the cause of Nazism with his broadcast than he could ever do against it by sharing classified information. His 'cultural contribution,' to Nazism was infinitely more impactful - even when he never actually believed what he said - than the information that he was sharing. It's nothing new for a person to latch onto an ideology they do not hold and write / speak from that position. To Doyle, this is trolling. To the people who ascribe to the position or would be swayed to ascribe to it, it doesn't matter what he claims or doesn't claim to actually think. He is articulating their cause for them. He can claim to be doing so 'inauthentically,' but the end result is the same. He's also showing that fame, wealth and fortune are not to be had as him, but that he must become this other thing to achieve it. He's not the only 'woke,' person who is inauthentic.

Very well articulated, especially the bit towards the end about it not being about the issue anymore, but about flexing your righteousness and bolstering your own ego. It becomes more apparent when you encounter these "super woke" people outside of their echo chambers (in real life conversation) to challenge the logic of their passion in many of these debates that they often don't have a strong base of evidence or argument for their strong views, but rely on abstract emotional projections of vague ideas they feel very deeply and sensitively about.

Morality has changed. I guarded my values and honored them as a form of self discipline and personal growth. Now people are having to carry a resume detailing their morale's and flashing them to enter the club. We have taken something personal and have begun to use it as a means of policing others. Right now however there’s a schism between the true ruling class and the temporary Trump regime. They’re doing all that they can to remove him from the position because, after all, It’s their religious duty. They first tried to avoid the catastrophe of his election by spreading mass propaganda 24/7. It didn’t work.
Then they tried to get a recount going.
That didn’t work.
Next they accused him of colluding with Russian agents to rig the election.
Not guilty.
After that, they tried to get him impeached.
He was acquitted.
Now they’re going to try to beat him in the next election.
I guess we’ll see how that turns out.

There was a book that Vonnegut wrote named, 'Mother Night,' that everyone should read. It's about a poet / actor who, while living in Germany, does a broadcast on behalf of the Nazis and Nazism while also sending classified information to the Allied forces through the broadcast. At the end he finds out that the Nazis knew that he 'thought,' he was a spy working against them. In the main scene, the Nazi who was handling him says that from their perspective he was doing more for the cause of Nazism with his broadcast than he could ever do against it by sharing classified information. His 'cultural contribution,' to Nazism was infinitely more impactful - even when he never actually believed what he said - than the information that he was sharing. It's nothing new for a person to latch onto an ideology they do not hold and write / speak from that position. To Doyle, this is trolling. To the people who ascribe to the position or would be swayed to ascribe to it, it doesn't matter what he claims or doesn't claim to actually think. He is articulating their cause for them. He can claim to be doing so 'inauthentically,' but the end result is the same. He's also showing that fame, wealth and fortune are not to be had as him, but that he must become this other thing to achieve it.
He's not the only 'woke,' person who is inauthentic.
Dude I don't think I've ever ran into someone who knows of Mother Night. I didn't read the book but saw the movie with Nick Nolte _years_ ago. Don't know if the movie did the book justice, but it was pretty damn good. I think about it often.

Very well articulated, especially the bit towards the end about it not being about the issue anymore, but about flexing your righteousness and bolstering your own ego. It becomes more apparent when you encounter these "super woke" people outside of their echo chambers (in real life conversation) to challenge the logic of their passion in many of these debates that they often don't have a strong base of evidence or argument for their strong views, but rely on abstract emotional projections of vague ideas they feel very deeply and sensitively about.

"Out of love" was the claim, not the reality anyone else bought.
