I'm a centrist. All I want is universal healthcare, fair wages, and an intact environment for my descendants. This is a genuinely nice man and I like him.
My guy, you are a leftist. No centrist would advocate for universal healthcare, because they think that healthcare should be up to the people individually
Politically I’m the polar opposite of Bernie and have never been too keen on his views, especially when it comes to socialism; however even though I still disagree with him on many details, this interview gave me a new level of respect for him and I firmly believe his goals and passionate beliefs are genuine. It became obvious to me during this interview that his altruism isn’t just a mask he wears for political manipulation like so many other politicians. I definitely think he would have made a far better president then senile Biden.
He's not trying to instill SOCIALISM as some kind of soviet style autocracy, he's trying to improve some of the social services we're cheated out of as a country. Same with ending the drug war and stopping foreign occupations.
this interview did answer a question i did have about bernies policies, and thats how its all paid for. a tax on every trade that goes through wall street is an interesting idea. especially if its truly less than 1 percent? and honestly i kinda believe it with the amount of money and sheer volume of trades that take place today.
In Europe his political standpoint is called social democracy. The capitalism in the US is just so unleashed and the free market dogma penetrated so deeply in the society's minds that his political position appears to be "socialist" due to the stark contrast. He's still very far from actual socialism.
Bernie was such a missed opportunity for this country and it honestly saddens me because I, a younger person in financial development will have to endure the next however many years for hardly any productivity to be done within office for my generation and generations to come to be better off than we are now. I dont come from any type of wealth and have to sit backing watching many people who reaped the benefits of their parents and quite honestly so many of them are undeserving and have a unfixed view on reality, many of them pick up dumb founded beliefs from their role models and would enjoy to hold the status quo. I however am glad to see those out there putting some real effort into getting the truth and facts that are out there to fix whats broken in this country.
Youre probably lucky he was never able to turn his vision of america into reality. Like most politicians, he's a liar. He USED to refer to venezuela as a golden example of what socialism is about. Until children started starving to death there. Then he started saying norway and sweden were the prime examples of socialism. Except they arent socialist countries. In fact rep's from denmark actually went to america to tell US politicians ESPECIALLY sanders, that they were not socialst. He also spent his honeymoon in the soviet union. He toured around the soviet union and praised them. He also used to want big taxes for millionaires until he became one. He is quite wealthy now. And now he wants big taxes for billionaires. While i agree that wealthy people or organisations should not be able to contribute to the campaigns of elected officials, there is much i dont trust him on. So, he might say he just wants better healthcare and free education, but seems to me if he was calling the shots, the USA would become yet another socialist hellhole run by wackos, insulated from their own ideas by money and power who think they can create utopia.
Bernie is a shit politician just like the rest of them all. He would never do any of the things he is saying. He would line his pockets and support his family like any of us would do. Example he wrote a book bought 2 houses and you dont hear from him now.
There was more policy in the first 10 minutes of this interview than the entire second debate--both of them. CNN should be embarrassed. They're the ESPN of politics.
All politics aside, it's incredible that this style of interview happened. Hats off to Bernie for coming on the show. It was nice to hear what he actually thinks without talking heads interrupting.
Agreed but Joe should have asked better questions. I felt like this was an hour of what's wrong with the system and why it's wrong. But I'd like to hear Bernie answer "how is 15/h not going to disadvantage small business owners over big corporations that can afford to pay $15/h and/or who have the ability to automate their workforce"
This interview, the Warren smear campaign and Hillary's ridiculous insults are the holy trinity of things that made Bernie Sanders the democratic frontrunner nationally, according to the most recent polls.
Bernie is the exact opposite to a corrupt Hillary or most other politicians of both parties. He is the most honest politician I've seen and I've been a political junkie for many years.
As a minority conservative American, I just can't help but respect what this man has mostly said during this hour podcast. Just comparing the gibberish Mr. Biden had said for over the past decade compared to the coherent speech of this man. Night and day.

Even when they are guests on talk shows on t.v. they dont get to say as much when you are 1 on 1 like this. Constant commercial breaks on shows like the view, limited time segments on the late night shows, and even news casters only give them a limited time and cut them off constantly to change the subject.
@@Ooth9999 No, he might. That's the last word. He's weighing his chances. And why not? If he get's in at 83, he's out by 87, and, 91 by the end of his second term...

I love how Bernie admits that he doesn't have all the answers. Every other politician will usually come up with some bullshit answer, or avoid answering the question at all. Bernie's honesty and integrity are such a breath of fresh air.
Ryan Palm to add to your point. To my knowledge multiple houses is 3. One in his hometown in Vermont, another is in DC where he works, and the last is a vacation property that was purchased after his wife sold a property she inherited. Personally I think it’s really none of our business, but attacks like this make me feel like I need to point out that this really isn’t excessive for a US Senator
@Jeremy Backman Owning multiple homes is basically required when you're a Senator, most have multiple houses, but there's a good reason for that! It's necessary to cut down on wasteful and excessive travel requirements they'd have otherwise. They usually have 1 house near D.C. and one in their home state. If they didn't, they'd be wasting far more on travel costs, and the media would probably focus on that waste, as a much bigger deal. Actually, I've seen pictures of all 3 of Bernie's houses, and they're certainly not mansions or anything close.. They're basically just small middle-class homes, in comparison to what most Senators have. Up until recent years he just had the 2, but his wife inherited one from her family, so they used that to get a small vacation house on a lake. Not really something I'd criticize him for. He's still basically one of the least wealthy Senators, and the policies he fights for would increase his taxes as well, and he wants that, so I don't really see how anything he's doing is hypocritical?
@Jeremy Backman Bernie talks about implementing more socialist policies within the capitalist framework that we have. Specifically, replacing predatory systems that exploit people's needs, not wants. This is something that we already do if you look at social security, for example. Socialism and capitalism are not mutually exclusive. Medicare for all, free college, higher taxes on the wealthiest people, the elimination of money in politics, and the elimination of for-profit prisons are his main examples. This isn't an either-or situation. He isn't talking about abolishing private ownership or having the state seize the means of production as a real socialist would. He wouldn't have anywhere near as much support as he does right now if that was his proposed plan and all of the propaganda you hear about him from Fox News would really be true, but it isn't. Yes, he calls himself a democratic socialist, but his wording is incorrect. He's actually more of a social democrat, a type of capitalist.
Here is the actual trough republicans and democrats basically want the same thing (there are exceptions of course guns for example )but in large parts they have the same goals but both cnn and Fox don’t want u to realize it and keep fighting each other so there corporate daddy’s can do what ever they want while the American people are in a screaming match
It’s true the American left became so corporate Even right wingers, well those with integrity, respect Bernie because he has integrity and is honest This is probably because he’s the only senator who grew up poor He grew up as an immigrant in Brooklyn This makes him automatically more honest than the corporate senate
Honestly people are actually being understanding, logical and open minded all under this videos comment sections. Now imagine bernie as president and the nature of american society...we would probably get the same effect instead of this current administration that's making everyone fight each other.
It's 2022 and this is the first time I have heard this interview. I have a yuge respect for this man after listening. Everything Bernie says makes sense. He has my vote 💯. Call me selfish, but I hope he lives a very long healthy life to run again in 2024 and a second term.
One of the craziest things about the US is their Healthcare "system". I live in Germany and I've never paid more than 50 Euro for anything including some hospital stays. The fact that a health condition can just ruin your life in a financial way feels so third world to me.
It's fucking criminal the kind of shit that insurance companies and pharma get away with charging, with *no benefit* towards improving the patients health. Is a plastic IV bag in the US that much better that it's priced at 500x what it's priced in Canada? No, they're just allowed to get away with it because why wouldn't they charge the absolute maximum they can get for it? There's no competition, they got patent monopoly's that last for 25 years.
It would be great if they could have more politicians on for these hour sessions more regularly. They talked at the beginning about "sound bites" and "reality tv". This is a real problem, and we'll never be able to get anything done if no one has a chance to hear what people have to say.
Mark & Danelle Johnson Other candidates couldn’t handle a hour of someone grilling them on policy. Our debates suck on purpose, they keep us from talking about the real problems we have!
Joe needs to aks harder questions. For example, what will it cost to pay for all the student loans? What will the stock market effects be for all the public companies that have their stocks taxed, and so on? In the US pensions are in the market so tens of millions of people will be effected.
It really is intriguing. It would be great if every candidate was interviewed in depth like this online as then you would get a better picture of their platforms.
eclipse the problem isn’t that the climate is changing. The problem is that the climate is changing at an extremely accelerated rate.
How's it Socialism? The stuff he's advocating for is what we take for granted in Europe. Stop watching fox entertainment network and open your eyes.
this interview did answer a question i did have about bernies policies, and thats how its all paid for. a tax on every trade that goes through wall street is an interesting idea. especially if its truly less than 1 percent? and honestly i kinda believe it with the amount of money and sheer volume of trades that take place today.
In Europe his political standpoint is called social democracy. The capitalism in the US is just so unleashed and the free market dogma penetrated so deeply in the society's minds that his political position appears to be "socialist" due to the stark contrast. He's still very far from actual socialism.
@@mickyarams socialism has more than one definition. Social democracy is considered by many a form of socialism as well.

Bernie is a communist.

eightyfivexxs !! What’re you dense?
I love how joe had to slip in the UFO question at the end 😂
Very insightful wish I would have seen this Podcast when it came out. The media absolutely skewed my view on this man. I genuinely feel bad about it.
its called brain rot americans :)
seeing 8.5 million views on this video and Bernie's message getting across to people who didn't 'get him' before...priceless. I will sit through every fricking one of these ads to say THANK YOU JOE ROGAN!
get addblocker for google chrome, I havent seen an add in years.
Reading the comments is incredible too. Revolution time
No you’re probably the Jew trying to make us ignore attacking the elite. Jew
yeah, I am glad I saw this. I never really seen Bernie fully explain this thoughts, just sound bites. Now I really understand how misinformed or ignorant he is on the effects of his agenda.
You should also check out Yang's episode, it's as good as this.
Joe, you're embarrassing CNN.
CNN does a fair job embarrassing themselves
Don't forget Fox and MSNBC
Wow, you're so trendy.
thats a low bar.... Joe can Jujitsu that shit all day!!
@@steveno2760 Yup. If he's embarrassing CNN, then he's completely obliterating Fox "News."
I think Bernie should have his fair chance of being a president of the US
Thissss man has bringing tears to my eyes and hope to my heart for years
This video will ultimately be seen by more people than watched the televised debates (8.7 million).
Smart move on Bernie's part doing this interview, and kudos to Joe for letting him talk.
Kudos to Joe for letting him talk. HAHAHAHA
Gary Johnson tried this 😅😂
Dave Townsend Socialism doesn’t work.
Joe Rodriguez This country was built on socialist policies. As a matter of fact, the new deal was somewhat socialist, go look it up.
Still wont get this commie elected lmao
So, this is what it’s like to listen to an ACTUAL conversation about policy and politics. THANK YOU JOE ROGAN!!!
This was better than any cable news show.
Joe Rogan is a literal piece of shit
@@JoshWitte please, explain yourself
@@xxr0xerxx well, there you go. Such vulger outbursts are rarely followed by any rationale.
Completely agree, now I can confirm that I won't be voting for Bernie. I wish Joe would have all the serious contenders on the show... Hell, even Trump.
@@jaunie8217 it's been 15 minutes. Calm your fucking tits 😒
I still come back and watch this. Imagine where we would be if we had him as president.
I’m not American and as most Europeans I was rooting for Bernie in 2020. It’s mind blowing you guys chose Joe and not him, no offence
@@nikitasamt1254 we actually chose Trump then we chose Joe. Both equally idiots and one clinically insane…. Well maybe both actually.
I truely dont think joe was chosen, my vote was tampered with thus making my vote ineligible @nikitasamt1254
One of the best and interesting political discussion i ve seen so far on RUclips. Joe is doing a great Job and Bernie is just amazing for a politician. How can the "woke" or easily offended hate this Guy?!? Go Joe!!!
See that’s the misconception the people you call “woke” love him that’s why Bernie had the largest vote from young democrats
I'd like to hear more politicians on a platform like this. I can't stand the televised debates.
Wish there was some fact checking though
@@villaescusacarloscv Get on it then.
He didn't answer Joe's questions though, he redirected and went into campaign mode every time.
Did you see Andrew Yang on JRE? It was worth watching too.
He's had Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard on.
265,000 Likes (89%) + 33,000 Dislikes (11%) The positive comments and the huge numbers of reactions to the comments back this up. This was one of those historic moments online.
Get your mind out of the gutter bro.
Yep.. The dislikes are mostly corporate shills paid to smear Bernie by the Establishment on both sides.
UPDATE: 338,000 likes which is up +73,000. Dislikes gained +6000 which is still 11%. The views are now 9.3M which is 3.2 million more people than there are subscribed to Joe and 1.3M more views since last week.
The comment section is overwhelmingly positive for Bernie and the clarity people have of him now is visible in words and numbers.
One of few americans i respect
Many Americans sympathize with Bernie, obviously looking from the outside-in you have a different perspective. Surely there are many that disagree with him as well. But, all in all if it weren’t for money and lobbying, Bernie would’ve won I believe.
@@savethebeez I think so too, I just hope that Bernie manages to educate enough young people to make a difference
@@savethebeez Bernie won the issue battle but lost the pr war. If only he got a pr team as good as Trump's
I love that Joe is a great listener, gives all of his guests a chance to talk, and is respectful to everyone whether he agrees with them, or not.
I don’t agree with him on everything but wow, what an amazing, coherent discussion between two individuals. This is how political discussion should be formatted. This will be a turning point for American media. Bravo, Joe Rogan. The mainstream media should be shaking watching this.
haymakers210 the US senate did all of the decisions for trump you think a person with no political experience makes those decisions? I’m pretty sure the US senates wipe his ass too YOURE THE MANIPULATED ONE
@@angrybear86 what a beautiful well-composed argument you've made
Totally agreed, I dont agree with him, but I love Bernie sanders as a person
Everyone that agrees with Bernie and wants to see him in the white house, share this video everywhere you can! A win for Bernie is a win for all of us!
@Benghazi gaming he doesn't understand economics at all.
"Tell me why we can't simply expand that program (Medicare)"
Because the price tag!! He keeps saying we're the only wealthy country without universal healthcare of some sort. But there are no other countriesusing that system that are even remotely the population of the u.s. it's ridiculous to think that we can just "simply expand such an expensive program" without any drawbacks. And then at the same time talk about spending even more money on people student loan debt. If he is your guy, more power to you. For me, I want less government not more government.
"Marijuana ain't heroin"
-Bernie Sanders 2019
I am not an American and have never been in America, but if I were , I would have voted for someone like Bernie. He's a very bright individual and he is 100% right that everyone should have free access to medical care when needed . I leave in the UK and have never played to see a doctor no matter the problem . Also for children, up to 16yo, everything is free , and I mean everything, from medicine to glasses, to dental care and so on . It's a shame to spend all your money on medical care considering you already paying taxes and it should be all covered.
America dropped the ball with Bernie
