Actually BA had known AB long before Tom did, BA was the offensive coordinator AB's first couple season in Pittsburgh, so Bruce always knew how good he was and how hard he worked, it was more the fact of his off field issues but him and Tom obviously knew they should take the chance and try to get his head back on straight, truly incredible the turnaround they all made happen
