If I would live in the USA I certainly would have bought this roaster. Now I own a Turkish made Akaneks 1kg roaster, and I did some modifications. It is also very heavy, about 85 kg. As a hobby roaster I will stick to it as long as it will work. Hope , more videos from you will come soon.
Great video👍 would you be kind and share the size of the garage you are roasting? Just planning to set up a small roastery and want to know the minimum space where I would fit in
Some people say get a larger roaster to start with like a 5kg so you can grow into is a better idea but I actually think getting a smaller one to start with then when you get a larger customer base buying a larger one and keeping the smaller one as a backup so if one fails or breaks so it doesn't shut your whole operation down is smarter. Would love to hear more about the logistics side of things as far as business and setting up a website ext..
I agree with this man. It is nice to have a smaller roaster incase you want to roast on site anywhere too or if you just want to do a couple pounds. Larger roasters don't roast small batches to well.
love your thoughts on the Mill City roaster. I have an older North (Mill City) 500g roaster and my thoughts echo yours pretty much exactly - awesome price point, awesome capability, and wonderful after-sales support (even though I bought mine 2nd hand, and it wasn't sold by them in the start since I'm in Australia, they're always so helpful!)
Good video. I know this is an old video, just wondering about consistency from batch to batch, how do you do that?how do you ensure each batch tastes the same when all the controls are manual?
Hey Tired Eyes for the videos. My wife and I are planning on opening a small coffee roasting business to sell locally. Hopefully we can run it out of the garage to start. I never considered the smell and offending neighbors. This might get me in trouble. But, if we can't open it at home we can't afford to rent a place. So I hope we can fly under the radar. Love the review of the roaster. I will look at Mill City roasters again. You should get a referral fee. Please keep posting videos. One question I have is did you have to get separate insurance or is the shed covered under home owners? Thanks again!!
Dear Tks for your best ideas i am from Ethiopia the origin of coffee yerga chefe .what you advise us for medium roasting company how many KG capacity roster can use.
Awesome video thanks. How much did venting cost you? Any suggestions? The mill city kit is an extra $1000 so wondering what other options there are for garage roasting? Thanks Sam
I like that machine. However I’m thinking of upgrading to a artisan 2.5 fluid bed roaster. I started out with three popcorn poppers and now have a behmore roaster.
Quick question - what grinder are you using? I would like to start selling small scale, perhaps with the behmore but I am afraid my home grinder won't be able to keep up with grinding a few pounds at a time.

Thanks for the video! Its good to hear more about Mills City. They seems to do a lot of things right!
Very nice roaster. What size propane tank are you using? And what software are you running on it?

Thanks for another great video Tyler. If you were starting over, would you purchase a bigger roaster?

Thanks Tyler, great review. Cheers from Sweden
Very interested, which country and location are you there?
British thermal unit. BTU. Good machine. Great Vid.

Roberto Pozuelo I use a cuisinart bur grinder. It has a 18 month warranty but it’s a home grinder as well.
Looking at their website the weight is:
252 pounds - Body
77 pounds - Roaster
Thanks so much
Stay dialed 👌🏼
Would you say it’s an intuitive roaster?
God I still wish they cost $5,800. They are now $9,100 just for the roaster. You can’t even get their 500 gram for that price. That one is over $7,000
Did you end up buying a different roaster?
@@VictimOfTheParanoid I bought a Yoshan 1kg roaster for much less than Mill City. Only ended up being under $3,000 with shipping and everything
Dude I'm From India , pls suggest a good process for Roasting and also for good roaster.
