Anatomy of a Coffee Roaster
After wanting to go more in depth on some of the mechanics of a coffee roaster, I realized I needed to break the components of it down in detail first. I hope this helps beginners get familiar with a traditional drum roaster as i think it's important to understand the functions of it in order to be a better roaster.
Also! I had to change my Instagram name. Long story short there are a couple cafes throughout the world named Coffee Under Pressure. While I was able to secure the Instagram name with no problem, I kept getting tagged in posts that didn't have anything to do with me. Additionally I found out someone already has the domain/website name I wanted secured. Now you can find me at:

  • @bluesfool1

    I find that increasing your airflow throughout the roast as your decreasing your power will give you an even roast and you’ll possibly find you can drop at the same temperature and color near second crack without actually getting into second crack. Mill city roasters practice this a lot and so I’ve been trying it with improving results. Hopefully that makes sense and is helpful 🤞👍

    Love this, I've been doing tons to medium from a blend of Colombia and found more even when I use high temp preheat, medium high until it starts going brown, high heat until first crack then as you said gradually lower to 0 until second crack. Thanks for sharing and helping me mate!!!!

    I lived behind a Coffee Roasting company... and most of the time it smelled like they were BURNING the coffee... I hated it when they did that. I literally had to leave my house when they roasted coffee... thankfully it was only once a week. Do ALL Coffee Roasting Machines Smell that BAD? If so... Maybe I shouldn't do this.

    • @sebaba001
      @sebaba001 2 года назад

      Noooo! Not sure what they were doing. My house smells amazing. Although I do have a Hive roaster which is smokeless if done properly. Still, depends on how dark you go. You are not supposed to burn the coffee, you're supposed to caramelize them. It should smell like sweet brown toast.
