- Talk's Kevin O'Sullivan reacts to Labour facing a union backlash over reported plans to water down its package of workers’ rights in the coming weeks.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham warned “a red line will be crossed” if the party U-turns on previous employment pledges while TUC president Matt Wrack said any weakening of policy will draw a “hostile reaction”.
Labour is set to announce all policies in its “new deal” for workers will go through a formal consultation process with businesses, which could delay their implementation or see them toned down, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.
The party originally promised to bring forward legislation within its first 100 days in government to enact the reforms.

When will people realise Labour isn't for the working people.
Of cause they are not. But neither are the tories . All they want are slaves. More to the point is when are people going to realise it’s all by design. The employers want the employees to be fighting over jobs so hey can keep wages as low as possible. And so they can keep on having their wage bill subsidised by the tax payers through the benefit system
Angela is a plant pot.
She needs to sort her own issues out before messing with workers rights.
Blair the war criminal does he mean
Yes
Rayner saying has the proof she is innocent, but Starmer doesn’t want to see her proof? That’s like going to court with proof you are innocent and the judge says I don’t want to see your proof, I believe you, you’re free to go.
No wonder nothing happened with Saville.
Why is it ridiculous to stop bosses calling staff out of work ? I for one was pissed off with work constantly calling me, emailing me and texting me outside of work. When your day of work is over, it should be over...However, it depends on the type of work you do I suppose, as Kevin says.
We do have a right to switch off dont we? Then they say mental health is just a lot of nonsense
Rough Raynor is as thick as three short planks, I hope Galloway keeps his word and stands a decent candidate against her.
She got that crap from labor Australia
Blanket banning zero hours contracts is ridiculous.. both my son & daughter, and niece & nephew loved the arrangement so that they could work flexibly around their studies!
We used to have a thing called Flexitime where you could pick your hours/days etc to work as long you did your 40 hours a week, is that similar ?
Vote labour at your own peril as the wolves will finish our country off
👍👏👏👏👏
To late Tories have already done that.
Lack of understanding by Angela Reynolds lack of understanding by Angela Rona lack of understanding the lack of understanding Angela guidelines no one wants it got to work out in the wild world on Angela has
And it begins with the smoke and mirrors. Labour are in for a big shock
Why should bosses be contacting people out of work hours? Unless you are in a job that requires emergency action, you shouldn't be pestered by your boss. 😠
Some of us are happy to be contacted out of hours. Workers should have the option.
Starters a waste of space vote Reform
It’s against the law to contact staff outside of working hours. As for the zero hours contracts they actually work both ways including the insistence that you work 72 hour weeks.
🤷♂️
No chance of any real growth in the economy under these policies
Blair might've had a " sense/understanding of the British people " . . but he certainly didn't give a fk about listening to them . . and even less of a fk about respecting their wishes . . an Autocrat politician if ever there was !!!!
Probably still in the background, pulling the Labour strings ? Evil man.
I dont that gobby women, but its perfectly reasonable to expect not to be contacted by your boss on your day off. I was constantly losing my leisure time when I worked because if someone didnt turn up hed phone me to come in whether i had plans or not. This is not America where bosses can demand you work 12 hours or more, people do need to switch off, especially now after covid that seems to have lead to hundreds of people suffering a lot of stress and mental issues.
God I would love a 4 day week that could change my vote lol
Not old Angela Twosheds !
BIKE ?

OH!....is it still alive??????!......
Doesn't matter. The most important thing is replacing Islamic loving Stammer before the general election January 2025
