- Deputy Labour leader, Angela Rayner MP, outlines the 'new deal for working people' that the party is planning for if it wins the next election.
Ms Rayner told Sky’s political editor, Beth Rigby that the Labour Party wants to remove 'bogus self-employment' within 100 days of being elected, but without damaging the economy or business.

no more 0 hour contract !!!
And fake self-employed contracts!
What about these who want a zero hour contract?
How fake?
No cap on bankers bonuses encourages taking bigger risks, bigger risk taking leads to instability not stability
How does it increase risk taking ?
Managing risk is about proper regulation.
In politics there's no such thing as self regulation.
More like smoke and mirrors with most politicians.
Just like democracy, its a myth.
Bring back Jeremy Corbyn.
At least when he was at the dispatch box, he wasn't rising to insults from the otherwise.
Starmar on the other hand along with Sunak are always taking swipes at eachother at the dispatch box.
Its childish and dosent help the UK.

Evidence?

LOL at her question "what about the legal fees for businesses who don't want to comply with laws?" yepppppppp, thats the point love, to STOP them from breaking it!
Her business knowledge is as astounding as her footwear!
Now where are my Cross of St George shoes for my next trip down the shops here in "little England"?
1:39 how this approach will end up like Spain where the same law was impose, business closed and worker that in theory the law will protect ended up unemployed?
thats not gonna happen lol
yes if businesses are only running based on underpaying and mistreating employees, then it was never a valid or long-lasting business-model and yes those companies should go.
labour laws are the only reason most people earn livable wages and decent working hours in the first place. business will survive, of course it will. it adapts, that's what it does. when it has a government not enforcing and maintaining employees rights, they'll exploit it, that's what it does.
How many businesses? Evidence?
They said the same thing when the Blair Government introduced the minimum wage, statutory paid leave and maternity leave in the late 90s. None of it came true. We have a serious labour shortage in the country coupled with a productivity crisis , so even if it did come true, removing clearly unproductive jobs and business would probably have a positive impact on both statistics.
Have any of these politicians have actually run a business? They seem to be very knowledgeable about how to run one.
Well she said she was talking to Business Leaders yesterday in about her 2nd sentence.
I spotted your spelling mistake it should have been "how to ruin one".
Labour are very good at that
These politicians are more into corruption ... It yields better profits ...
There is so much more media scrutiny on Labour, but it keeps them sharp. I know no politician with less bullshit and more on top of her brief when examined.
Political myopia then
Except when she said that 12 million pensioners were not guaranteed an annual raise .
Reason as to why the country is in a grave mess as it should have been the Tories under grave scrutiny government for 14 years ....They have not received scrutiny allowed to do what they want with a huge majority and what a huge mess destroyed the UK. Devastated and plundered the UK. Toxic indeed
i think they are trying very hard to put labour in the mold that the Tory party has established, so they are using the existing services and structure to scrutinize labour from that position - it's a tough game and Labour has to prove themselves worthy..
I as a woman, i wouldn't touch Labour, they bend to the nonsense, go from one thing to another on policy, but them avoiding this woke chaos, is something as a woman from past DV, i feel is important, I dont feel confident they'll protect my rights.
Labour hates this country. If you are white, heterosexual and patriotic you will be marginalised as "far right".

What's labour planning to do about the out of control immigration

@@jonathanfell688Again, no answer.
Giving visas out does not stop immigration.
One reason net migration is higher is because it is now so much harder for British people to migrate to the EU. Therefore, less can leave and so net migration increases.

Labour save the uk please.
First loaded question, Corbyn taunting. Really?
The only reason she is there now is because she still a closet corby supporter.
Labour has nothing to offer.
Not being the present tory party is a very good offer at this point.
Our economy under Tory has nose dived. Our economy was thriving under Labour.
One of Labour's weapons of mass dissatisfaction!
New, New Labour is just the old, old Labour.
Tax and spend is the usual strategy, it has failed every time before, but I expect they will try it one more time.

What with all the issues going on in the wider world right now, I think they need to be careful what they wish for. There could be some absolutely monumental decisions to make. Are they up for it?
I'd be willing to guess that labour, who have the interest of everyday people, are the best people to make any decisions that impact the country, than the tories where every single member only cares on themselves and would 💩on their fellow tory MPs the first chance they got if it helps them.
also, labour relies on experts and can easily get the necessary consultation from those who have experience/knowledge. tories have made a point to say that they don't like experts or people with experience, they prefer to look at it from their own bias/perspective and base their decisions on what they think will get them votes, so they can continue to serve their own self-interest.
Huge yes but going to take Labour two terms to fix if can the Tories 14 years of disaster.
This is the party that rebuilt a bankrupt UK after WW2. Of course Labour are up for it, rebuilding the country after it’s been destroyed one way or another is literally what every Labour Government has had to do.
What about companies who constantly restructure and pay people off with barely any redundancy?
There are already minimum redundancy payments.
Well what about women with Labour 🙈 they avoid a conversation! Because there true colours will shine if voted in, just lairs like Tories.
Very poor ‘journalism’ did she research or prepare more than one question, then repeated it ten times….attempted gotchas and zingers is lazy and not achieving anything…..
I’m an Italian citizen but Angela is one of my favorite UK politicians. I like so much her passion, determination and devotion in favor of working people.

Labour Ban zero hours replaced with 1 hour contracts😂
The destruction of the private sector unions is entirely due to New Labour and its promotion of so called 'Employment Directives' of the EU and the so called 'Minimum Wage', which was the maximum wage. That hit the lowest paid, but the technically qualifieds wage rates have also been undermined by EU immigration, Polish Plumbers and Sparks. .
Why not just reintroduce Wages Councils? Why not drop taxes and NI Rates on the lowest wages? Why not cancel VAT on food stuffs? Why not drop taxation on Staff gratuities in the Retail-Leisure sector?

The nasty tories have reduced workers to the worst possible position imaginable .. When Labour quotes public services, it's the NHS, Police, Firefighters, ambulance drivers/doctors/nurses/care homes/etc. etc. etc ... Public services soon to include energy, water, rail as well ...

What a fantastic interview. Labour working for working person
New old really awful crusty deal. My god Labour is hopeless.but they are smashing their equalities quota 😂
She wants growth and more investment by making it harder to employ people with flexible working. And needs the growth to improve public services. Not going to work especially for the small businesses. Only growth will be unemployment...
Rayner is relying on vague promises of reform and a magic growth tree - offering more of the same short term political decision making. The overall stance is indistinguishable from the Tories and her caution also makes it harder to sell a hopeful vision of change. . The case for Corbynism has never been stronger. His arguments for nationalisation, fairer taxation, fair pay and political reform would be well-received in the current climate. Along with his support for Palestine. All the issues currently facing the UK could have been avoided, or the impacts lessened, with a Labour government in 2017. But sabotage within his own party's headquarters, the Israel lobby and the owners of the main stream media all conspired against him. We don’t now need mealy-mouthed politicians like Starmer trying to placate the centre-right and the Israel lobby - we need people with a vision, who are concerned about the sort of world our young people will inherit.
Not being in power means other parties remain vague. They don't have all the information needed to respond to questions in the way they are worded.
What a load of bollocks!!
It's very nice but I don't believe a word.
Does nothing for trade based employment. As usual. More office based, amazon and fckn maccies.
Removes zero hours contracts, ensures pay levels, removes job insecurity.
Stability - encourages investment.
@quickclipsbyjmj whoa hold the phone there champ! Zero hour contracts were brought in, in 1998/1999. Guess who was in charge of government??? I'll wait.
@ipbradley Since leaving Government, Labour have admitted zero hours contracts haven't been applied as were orginally set up and have said they will end them. By-the-way, the 2010/2024 Westminster Government has had 14 years to remove zero hours contracts. How's that going? I'll wait.
Bizarre questions lol

Personally I thought the whole thing was a set up. He should take his anger out on Hamas if it’s genuine, they are the ones who started the war with Israel, not the Deputy Labour leader.
Whenever a Labour politician utters the words, "there is no cost" it's time to worry.
Labour are putting into law what the vast majority of employers already offer or exceed anyway. Legislation just removes the cowboy employers creating a level playing field and giving employees rights when their employer doesn’t meet the minimum standard.
Come on labour ..let's get them Tories out ....
If a business can not afford to actually employ people, what is the point of them?
Solid interview however your being puahed on bankers bonus questions, its obvious to everyone who isnt a banker that not having a cap is detrimental and sows discontent among the public, its not a hair off your back to just reverse it and end the argument. Fair - providing equality and equity. Providing a balance, allowing for positive results. Fair - give 2 people 3 balls to throw into a pot to win a prize. Instead of giving 1 ball to 1 person and 2 balls to the other person.
