Nicely done! And thank you! I believe it's kind of the Miata of CUVs for sure. Have you seen "The Car Care Nut" video of the Soul Red Signature CX-5? It's a fantastic mechanical breakdown video, and the car looks great!
@ yes I’ve seen it it’s a great breakdown of it. Mazda made a legend, I think the CX-50 was meant to replace it completely but it’s still so good and it’s their best selling model they can’t really kill it yet and it’s almost a decade old! I think it’ll get another 1-2 years before it finally goes but wow what a helluva run.
Agreed. I think it would sell well for another 10yrs even if they didn't change a thing. Have you driven a CX-50? Do you have any other Mazdas in your driving history?
@@DriveItOut I drove the CX-50 too as I was comparing to the CX-5. I was actually looking in the midsize realm and drove other midsizers but the CX-5 won me over, it’s tad smaller but it’s arguably the better buy provided you don’t need much more space, it’s interior felt a bit more upscale like a BMW on a budget, and it has the independent rear suspension going for it. And it was much cheaper. But my experience with it has converted me to a Mazda faithful- they don’t sell as much as its competitors but the quality and build is up there with Toyota and Honda easily.
Excellent. I, too, am willing to deal with slightly less space for a great driving experience. The CX-5 is just right for capacity and fun. It's great to see others discovering how truly excellent Mazda is doing right now. Here's to many fun miles ahead. Look for Ep. 4 on this CX-5 soon and thanks a ton for watching!
The Lexus NX would be a great comparison. I would love to get that on video. At first glance the Lexus would would be similar in many ways, but probably not as athletic or light on its feet as the CX-5. NX is slightly heavier, and most likely tuned for comfort over a sporty ride relative to the Mazda. The Lexus also offers CVT transmissions in some variants (not the most exciting), as well as hybrid options. This differs the two quite a bit in some trims. Knowing what I know at this point, I would choose the CX-5, but I am a big fan of many Toyota/Lexus products, and I'm sure the NX would not disappoint. Also note, Toyota has a small stake in Mazda, and the two companies share technology and assembly locations sometimes. This speaks to the quality of both products. Thanks for watching!
Yes, my wife typically gets 19 or 20mpg around town. She has a heavier foot than I do most days :). I typically get 22 or 23 when driving casually. Although, I've spent some days around town driving only in sport mode, and I got 18ish. We are really pleased with the way this vehicle drives so far. Thanks a ton for watching. Hope you are liking yours.
Have a soul red Signature, love it. And love the vanity plates! That’s exactly how I feel about my CX-5, if Mazda made a CUV Miata this would be it.

@DriveItOut Thank you for you reply, it was a great review video ;)
Thanks! Another video is coming soon. I've got nearly 7k mi. on it now.
No power mirrors, but they are heated.
We have it in white and we love it, that zircon sand color is too green for us.
Glad you love it!
