I found her 3 years ago and everyday regret that it should be earlier. She is an amazing singer, wonderful songwriter, great actress and good producer. 16 years back when her journey started it was rough, depressing and tough. But where she is today makes me more happy.
Palette is one of my all time favorite IU songs. I'm the same age as IU, so I really connected with the general sentiment of her singing about how she felt being 25 at the time. Even more so, GD's message to her in his rap about how he felt being 30 at the time, and now that's where I'm at as well so the song is still really easy to empathize with. Also, I could've sworn that you reacted to Dami and Yoohyeon's special clip of them covering this song, but I can't seem to find it in the Dreamcatcher cover videos (maybe a clip of it was in one of the guides? I don't remember now). They released it when they both turned 25 in Korean age, the special clip was shot by them recording it in the studio. It was also really sweet because they changed some of the original lyrics of the song to describe themselves a little more. Also, they both took turns singing IU's part and then Yooh starts GD's rap with Dami finishing it off with her own changed lyrics. One of my favorite DC covers!

Completely reasonable reaction to choke up because of Hold My Hand!! Fun fact if no one's told you yet: Hold My Hand is the first fully self-written and self-composed song that IU got to release! I'd argue that the original recording from 2011 is still the best version of the song to exist because you can hear how HARD she's singing her heart out for it. Enjoy the deep dive!! Her power comes from her genre flexibility (early IU) and from just how meaningful her music becomes (especially from the EP Chat-Shire onwards).
