I call this interactive history. In Iceland there are some stones that fisherman would pick up the heaviest one being 154 Kg then you can call yourself full strength. There is a certain feel the stones give off knowing that others have lifted it before you, and others will lift it after you. I only got to half sterker which is 100 kg. These Jori have those vibes.

It is a public gym and people who do a good 150 lbs on the bench also find this tough. Of course, with practice, they will get it but all agree that it is one of the complete exercises. A classic

@@TheFlowingDutchman Initially I figured its not possible to do them, but these are neither Symmetric nor Asymmetric, but they are off symmetric.
There may be a way for you guys to TRAIN towards these. Have you guys ever tried swinging Non/ Off Pair Joris together? Say take a 4 & 6 of different lengths and do it together - switch and try. How does/ would it affect overall system motion and feel? How weird / off balance does body system feel / adapt to the dynamics?
Take them gradually upto 8 and 10, non nailed.
Their length and nails and the off balance physics are new VARIANTS that the bodies Neuro Muscular system is unable to tack altogether add to it NAIL DAMAGE Panic.
You and Pratyay have access to lots of Joris - Just do off balance practise with heavier and longer.. ones and share How that affects overall System.
Given that the body drives from the Center, this unbalanced CENTRIFUGAL & CENTRIPETAL forces would be interesting for the NM system to encounter.

I belive there is something to do with center of mass... As u swing it shifts towards the ends that's why it falls

  • @vapushraghuwanshi6426
    @vapushraghuwanshi6426 3 года назад

Just because you have to give extra energy for the joris as they are very long and narrow at bottom and heavy at ends the centre of mass is moving a very long curve which means more and more change in potential energy with too much of angular momentum which gives tension on your wrist due to centripetal force and that's the reason why you cannot balance them and a factor also is that it has nails and you cannot balance it on your shoulders . When the jori comes at the bottom most point the potential energy converted into kinetic energy gives a sudden increase in angular velocity and tension on the wrists and shoulders which deviates you . So just try swinging those joris by swinging with low angular velocity.

Give it some time. I am no expert on this, but I think that it's not as much about being able to swing your heaviest mace or club but much more about how much control you have over them. The more control you have, the more tricks you can do with them. So, if you are having problems handling a heavier mace or club, then maybe you should spend more time in handling a smaller weight. Then naturally, once your muscles become strong enough, you will be able to effortlessly graduate to higher and higher weights and better handling.
Also, for me, flexibility is as important as strength.
This is just my opinion as I am not an expert on this, nor do I have extensive experience.
I am really into hatha yoga, and in any kind of discipline, preparing your body is a slow and laborious process and instead of trying to get results early, the path of patience and perseverance is always more rewarding.
I am not sure how much this advice may help you, but I thought I'd just put it out there.

@@chadbhaiyya5167 Dude.. Stop. You don't know the first thing about this.
First of all, those handles aren't nearly large enough for two hands.
Second, they are still FAR too heavy. The heaviest actual melee weapons were greatswords or polearms which were 3.5kg or MAYBE 4kg at the most, or pikes which were extremely long spears that could weigh up to 6kg but were only held out straight, and not swung around.
Just look at how these guys are lifting them. Even if you could get two hands on that little handle, there is no way you are going to hold it out in front of you, or swing it around without throwing yourself off balance. And you are damn sure not going to have the speed required to actually hit anybody with it.
Maybe there is some much lighter and much shorter version of this thing that maybe could have been a weapon, but these ones in particular are NOT weapons.

Everything was learnt from india because in those days foreigners use to come to india for trading. When they use to stay longer here they use to hang out with local pehelwans in india in those days. India taught lot of things to the world but those people dint give credit to india. They gave it their own name to it and their people thought its their tradition.
