I would have included Tup’s accidental triggering of Order 66. Watching a clone trooper we grew to love straight up shooting a Jedi in the face in cold blood really shook me. Either that or the Citadel arc where Master Piell got mauled to death by a wolf. That was really brutal
Tup's entire situation is horrifying, especially since it's implied that he is one of the younger clones in the 501st. And what no one talks about is just why he died while Fives and Rex survive the surgery: his chip, essentially a tumor in his brain, was so damaged that it began to rot in his brain. He had a rotting mass of flesh in his brain for literal days and the people who might have removed it didn't know and the people who could have removed it mostly didn't care.
Anakin fighting clovis over padme in season 6 was such a typical 'she's mine back off' bar fight. I loved it. "Why don't you try fighting like a man without your jedi tricks'. If only prequels Anakin was like tcw Anakin...
Clovis was a fucking creep and couldn't fight like a man because he definitely was less then one anakin gave him what had been coming for him for a while
I swear all cartoon series that start out as kid friendly, aren't by the end of it. They tend to get more dark and violent as the series and episodes progress.
It really shows how sadistic someone can become even as a Jedi. Yeah he also worked for dooku but he just sat their enjoying the carnage. I would say that he is probably worse than dooku because even Dooku has standards
Just solidifies the fact Kenobi is the greatest Jedi who ever was, or will be. The man was constantly tested by tragic events throughout his life, and he still held onto the light within him.
Kenobi’s reaction gets me every time. It really makes you feel for him and shows what he was fighting for after this. You can even notice his fighting gets much more furious and aggressive after the Maul Mandalore arc
Those are all great points but what about when Pong Krell snapped that Clone's back? Or when Savage Opress beheaded all the Black Sun guys? Or when that Clone was crushed in half by the closing doors? Or when Maul slaughtered the village full of women and children? The more I type the more I wonder why my parents let me watch this show when I was little
I was quite shocked when I found out that Satine's last words were "I've always loved you" which is, imo, way more beautiful than the German version where she said "never forget what you believe in... I never did". It does fit her character, but the original phrase makes the scene ten times more emotional. They shouldn't have changed it.
That is why I only watch series and movies in the original version now. I gave up on german translations a long time ago and also the voices usually just fit the characters better than the german ones
That whole arc is messed up. And while the harsh violence is well remembered, what got me was just how helpless the clones really are with Krell. They have to follow his orders until he makes it clear that he's a threat to the Republic, not to them
He is talking about the scene where Maul leaves a message for Obi-wan and there are 5-6 villagers behind Maul, and at the end of the message he turns his lightsaber on and beheads all of them in a single swing, and we see all of their bodies fall down. Meanwhile I thought for sure that the beheading of the 5 Black Sun leaders would be on here, because they actually showed all 5 of the leaders headless and still standing before their bodies collapsed. That was one of the most brutal deaths I have ever scene in the show.
goldenhedgehog9 true but I think mine was worse because the villagers were innocent and there were kids that got killed. During the Black Sun scene they were all older and were crime lords
Simple, not alot of kids don't pay attention to the detail compared to much older audience and fans. Heck the series have a concept of a massive scale war in the title and is known to be quiet gritty like the infamous Arc Umbara.
I dunno. I mean, I remember when I was watching Clone Wars while I was 9. It was 2008 or 2009 I think, but it was first season. Maybe after years I didn't remembered much from it, but I still had a one scene burnt inside of my brain, where a blue senate commando was impaled by Ventress while they were extracting Gunray. As a kid, that was most shocking thing I ever saw back then.
It wouldn't say its purely made for adults. Its made for a wide spectrum of viewers, also including adults. But it also has a lot of references where you can see its still meant to be a kids show, because some dialoges or characters are a bit childish.
@@tommyfortress7515 Not it didn't. It was basically only for kids, and was pretty awful as a result of that commitment. Clone Wars was for both, and it worked out. You have it backwards.
I feel you need to add the execution of Jedi Pong Krell and the entire Battle of Umbara arc. Not only being my favorite arc, it was by far the darkest with the clones realizing it is better to execute there prisoner (Pong Krell) then to allow Republic intel to get into the hands of the enemy. Even for adults, that is pretty dark. Not to mention the friendly fire and death of Waxer.
It was brutal but they never showed the scene really...I'd say the scene where muals brother decapitated a bunch of guys sitting at a table AND they showed each of there heads falling off... i mean that almost gave me a nightmare and was the most brutal scene i can think and know of...satines death especially with the sound would be 2nd on my list and then the clone that was cut in half the 3rd most brutal despite it never showed the scene
*Strength is life* For the strong have the right to rule *Honor is life* For with no honor, one might as well be dead. *Loyalty is life* For without one's clan one has no purpose. *Death is life* One should die as they lived. *That is the way of a Mandalorian*
What about the moment when Savage Opress beheaded nine Black Sun councilors with a single lightsaber throw? Or the one where General Krell sliced clones apart and crushed one's spine? Or when a clone's waist was crushed in vents of the Citadel?
Král Václav I. Technically he never cut them to bits. I bet if this wasn’t supposed to be a kids show then he would have fucked them up but you can’t really show too much of that or else you won’t get away with it
Idk the “You will take us to the holocron” scene was pretty dark watching as bane writhed in agony and seeing the visible horror in Ahsoka’s face was brutal
I think Clone Wars was aimed at both younger and older audiences. I enjoyed it when I was younger and still enjoy it now (perhaps even more so as I am able to appreciate some scenes that I couldn't and didn't when I was younger).
When I saw that, I was like "Wow! Cool!". Mainly because cad bane was my favorite character. But when I saw scene where cad bane "died" (but not really) I was broken...
This list could have been a compilation of acts of Savage Opress. My favorite being decapitating an entire room of black sun members with a single saber throw.
What's ironic is the fact that an animated TV show for kids is more violent then the movies, except for Anakin burning, the Darth Vader hallway scene in Rogue One, and the multiple graphic lightsaber stabbings in TLJ when Rey and Kylo fight the Praetorian guards. Oh, almost forgot, when Savage Opress slaughters a Padawan's master in front of him. Wait, that was from the Clone Wars!
I remember seeing it at least once. But it wouldn't have been the first time they cut something after an initial showing. I remember in Rookies, they took out the line "Like hell you did" after that showed.
They said hell 3 times: Rookies: (Cutup gets eaten by giant eel) "What the hell was that!" Rookies: "Sorry Echo, I junked that one." "Like hell you did." Liberty on Ryloth: (ARF trooper surveying wrecked battlefield) "Looks like it was a hell of a fight" Not sure which ones got on TV, but my DVD set has these.
have ot disagree. the whole small army of magic users with precognition and psychic powers being overpowered by the droids was pure retardation. it be like if you had an army of dumbledores and they got taken out by common soldiers, when they could jsut turn all their guns into birds. the jedi always look really weak in the movies. hoently in the star wars clone wars series as well they are comparatively helpless for what is supposed to be an order of guardians that made htose racist gecko peple in phantom menace piss themselves. you see a LOT of that in the clone wars. There was scene where ahsoka and some 'younglings' were captured by some pirate types.... ahsoka could ahve throttled the entire group and have every reason to use more force, no pun intended. fuck you see dooku manhandle two dudes easily after escaping captivity. soooo why was he ever in danger. the comics, books, and hell the games make them seem a lot stronger and with a more viable skillset.
Won’t find any of this in rebel Or compelling stories Or interesting character arcs Or any sort of on screen death that isn’t a stormtrooper Or depictions of a competent enemy
Because everybody wasn’t so sensitive, kids aren’t ignorant to stuff more explicit than seen in the show. I would only say some of these things might be more brutal to kids under the age of 5 or 6, but anything higher than that isn’t that bad. Also I’m usually always aware of censored scenes ( being that I saw the original scenes first most of the time) I never saw the scene where ventress kissed the arc trooper.
The whole "everyone wasn't so sensitive" argument is fucking stupid. Nothing has changed the only difference is that Clone Wars aired on Cartoon Network while Rebels is on Disney channel. Cartoon Network has always had mature content directed at all age demographics which is why the old cartoon Network worked so well. Billy and Mandy pushed the envelope many times and was probably the darkest and most mature show for a while that other networks would never air.
Dark Sasune Ur not getting my original point, I was referring to the title and how they consider it “brutal” as it was classified as a kid show, and regardless how u feel on the argument as a whole, it’s still factual in the sense that at least when it comes to the vocal minority people are way more sensitive and entitled now then when I was younger. Just because it’s for “kids” doesn’t mean it has to aimed towards younger kids, and after a certain age threshold those scenes aren’t too “brutal” for kids
@@JymoJamingo considering the minimum age recommended is 6 I'd say that's perfectly fine, my siblings grew up with lord of the rings and we are objectively fine.
Obviously there are some disturbing scenes but I was never really affected by the majority of them. It’s not like it’s 100% fine for all 6 year olds, but tolerable for most by age 8 or 9 at least in my opinion
OMG Could you imagine if the clone wars came back on adult swim just like samurai jack. LOL that would be SOO insane, clones getting their limbs blow off and with blood and stuff.
4:48 seeing how some Jedi didnt value the clones as actual living beings, I like how after grievous did that Kenobi's troops, who he commends well, looked at him to see his response, in which they unsurprisingly knew he would care.
Daddy Max Hey not too bad. How ‘bout yourself? And I’m not sure I know who you are exactly. Sorry, I’m not great with remembering. Your username sounds familiar I think...I dunno. Help me out here, haha!
Me- This wouldn't be a star wars video without. . Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
Darth Sidious was a punk bitch who couldn't even face off with his mentor in a proper final battle and instead killed Plagueis in his sleep like the fuckin snake he is despite having little to no reason to do so at the time besides sheer paranoia. It makes his betrayal by Darth Vader/Anakin that much sweeter when he yeets his ass down that reactor shaft. I never realized how much I wanted Sidious dead until I watched the prequels and the clone wars, and my only comfort throughout all of the manipulative shit he pulled was the knowledge that one day he would die. But it was never soon enough, and no amount of agony or torture physically possible, even in the Star Wars universe, will ever satisfy me when it comes to punishing him for his crimes. Sorry for ranting there. I just needed to vent. Sweet meme tho.
The Zombies from Geonosis that followed Ahsoka onto the ship by parasites going up clones noses. That was some Starship Troopers two throwback creepiness
Clone Wars: So amazing that no one cared at all what happened. All they knew was it was Clone Wars and people die in wars. Pffft. Still the best series ever.
Funnily enough that scene where ventress kisses the arc trooper after impaling him was censored here in australia and I was completely unaware of it at the time
Well he has a sense of pride. If you earn his respect, he will respect you. This is proven when Obiwan fakes being a bounty hunter and actually helps/saves Cad Bane. Later in the same episode, when Obiwan would have died by some under handed schemeing, Cad Bane saves him. Not due to money, not due to being forced, all simply on the fact that he had earned Cad Banes respect. (Although Cad Bane played this off by saying they were even, and that he prefers to pay his debts.)
This is the ideal concept for a kid show. Just dark enough to make life on screen seem real and make real life feel distant yet close. The show pushed a good amount of wisdom and lessons with it having a moralistic philosophy. Disney could never come close to this

Maciej Russer idk she was pretty ugly
U.S Bricks I didn't really judge her by her looks. It was a nice romance if you've read the booms about Obi Wan and her before the Phantom Menace
Maciej Russer, and also Fives getting killed.

What about when Pre Visla or whatever his name was was beheaded by Maul
Ian Chorne, when I was younger, whenever something violent happened in the show, my mom would say that I should go play outside for a little bit.
I was quite shocked when I found out that Satine's last words were "I've always loved you" which is, imo, way more beautiful than the German version where she said "never forget what you believe in... I never did". It does fit her character, but the original phrase makes the scene ten times more emotional. They shouldn't have changed it.
Yeah as a German myself it did sound weird
I currently study translation at university. Who in their right mind does something like that? It goes against all the rules of translating!
That is why I only watch series and movies in the original version now. I gave up on german translations a long time ago and also the voices usually just fit the characters better than the german ones

What about when general krell snaps the clones spine over his leg like a twig
That whole arc is messed up. And while the harsh violence is well remembered, what got me was just how helpless the clones really are with Krell. They have to follow his orders until he makes it clear that he's a threat to the Republic, not to them
He did it bane style according to tv tropes lol
What about when we see Maul and Savage murder the villagers and the kids
Jax Arcand #whataboutthebrotherattackonthekids ?
Which time, I’m pretty sure that happened more than once
He is talking about the scene where Maul leaves a message for Obi-wan and there are 5-6 villagers behind Maul, and at the end of the message he turns his lightsaber on and beheads all of them in a single swing, and we see all of their bodies fall down.
Meanwhile I thought for sure that the beheading of the 5 Black Sun leaders would be on here, because they actually showed all 5 of the leaders headless and still standing before their bodies collapsed. That was one of the most brutal deaths I have ever scene in the show.
Or anytime Savage killed someone 😂
goldenhedgehog9 true but I think mine was worse because the villagers were innocent and there were kids that got killed.

I did. It was awesome
I am 9
Dark Sasune it’s a combination of both I feel.
"Star Wars The Clone Wars is a kids show" : The show has death , decapitation , slavery , torture , scary scenes , rituals : Yeah a "Kids show"

Cad Bane does have a moral compass
Money
LODS OF MONEH
He’s in the gucci gang
Well he has a sense of pride. If you earn his respect, he will respect you. This is proven when Obiwan fakes being a bounty hunter and actually helps/saves Cad Bane. Later in the same episode, when Obiwan would have died by some under handed schemeing, Cad Bane saves him. Not due to money, not due to being forced, all simply on the fact that he had earned Cad Banes respect. (Although Cad Bane played this off by saying they were even, and that he prefers to pay his debts.)
So does callmecarson when he plays monopoly
This is the ideal concept for a kid show. Just dark enough to make life on screen seem real and make real life feel distant yet close. The show pushed a good amount of wisdom and lessons with it having a moralistic philosophy.
