- It's finally time to clean up and restore the interior of the Datsun 280ZX.The carpet is replaced, the headliner is reupholstered, we install a new NRG quick release hub paired with a Sparco steering wheel, and the new flocked dash is installed.
I'm going to be starting a 280ZX project really really soon this video just made me even more excited
just bought one, know any places to buy interior parts?
great project man. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it earlier but you put the screws in the wrong places on the hub and steering wheel. The silver cap screws should hold the hub and the black countersunk screws hold the wheel to the hub.
I need to do that to my steering wheel. Climbing out from around the wheel is a PITA
I had a fiber paper 22 yr old headliner , beat up, scraped old foam off and coated with flex seal hind sight woulda did both sides as the back didn't want to take the glue, I used the 90 instead of 77 . The flex seal gave a uniform texture mine had defects like yours

I really think u should have used sand pepper to clear of the imperfections on the board other than that love you're videos I am 17 years old and about to start my projet on my 280zx

To all you Z restorers, it was a perfect time to dynamat the vehicle while he had all the carpet removed. It is a world of difference to deaden the noise these cars make. Especially T-top models. Also you can install audio amps under the seats.
I didn't want to add the extra weight to the car, and for this build at this point I'm ok with hearing road and engine noise. But if I feel I need it in the future ill add it in

Do you still have the Nissan I just got my 280zxt out of the auto body storage it has been there for 16 years I bought all new everything 15,000 all in boxes 16 years ago now I am going to finally start, I like the work you have done it should save me lots of time.

I was thinking instead of vynil, you could have done some type of leather after all that is a 280.ZX which would look awesome in some type of leather or Naughahyde it would that certain touch of elegance

naimmmm I ordered the quick release from throtl.com. It fits all 6 hole aftermarket steering wheels. You’ll need an adapter as well that goes from the car to the quick release. Nice work on restoration, but why not Blue back ...? Keep it original is my opinion- wish I could’ve helped, and overlap material a1/4” to give a snugger fit? 280-Zx has always Always been my dream car- Hell I even dream about it night after night, that’s pretty much a deep Passion!! I wanna see more to Completion...✅✅✅

Black interior way cooler, blue too dated, looked like Disco era, all 280ZX's should've had black interiors

Awesome, where did you get the parts? One of the big suppliers dropped out years ago, so now us Z people don't have a great supply of parts. I've got a few ZXs and I'm looking to rework them pretty soon.

Yeah it opens to the side, not up and down like modern center console
Where did you find the windshield mounding and the strut tower covers?
I bought the car complete. In the previous video I removed and painted the parts. If you're looking, I would recommend checking junk yards or ebay

Just wondering where I can get some interior parts for my 1982 280zx any websites or anything?
My 1980 has this 1.5" thick piece of foam on the rear hatch. I didn't notice that on yours. Do you have that foam panel in the rear hatch area?
On the floor? Yes mine has it, it has a rubberized top sheet
What brand and size hub did you use? I want to put a quick release on my 280zx but I am not sure if it is the 142H or the 140H.

The carpet did fit. It has to be cut in the middle for the shifter

Andres Lozano 🤙 the brand was ACC carpets. Try googling 280zx carpet there are a few places that sell them.
