    What about a visa for a non-Thai who is married to someone who has a retirement visa but who doesn’t qualify herself for the retirement visa (not 50+)? Can you cover this in the next video? Great channel btw.

      Unfortunately the retirement visa is granted individually, so both spouses need to meet the criteria, including the 50+ age requirement. Thanks for the kind words!

    Good work and solid information. Been in bbk for a year and immigration has broke me. I’m forced to return to au. It’s literally impossible to get working visa and permit. And I’m engaged to a Thai girl. It’s going break both our hearts. Yes taking the time to get Thai bank account will save you alot of money if you plan to spend your time here 🙌

      If you get married then you can get the marriage visa. It’s quite straightforward!

      How long is the marriage visa ?

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  5 месяцев назад

      It's valid for 1 year, but you can renew it every year.... as long as you are married and have the money in the bank, you can keep renewing it!

    Thank you for the detailed video. Unfortunately, i don't meet the requirements for any of these vias as a digital nomad.

      Checkout my last video about Multiple entry tourist visas…many digital nomads use the multiple entry tourist visa or education visa.

    Good info, retirement O is the one I'm planning for, just waiting for the tax regs to be finalised.

      @thebangkokguide  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah let’s wait and see…but if your from a country with a double tax agreement, it should be fine.

    Thank you for referring me to this video question the 800,000 Thai baht I’m assuming Thai bank accounts work like American bank accounts where you have a checking and you can have a savings since I have to keep $800,000 Thai baht in my account can I just keep it in my savings account and not in my checking

      This is correct. Although the interest rates are nothing to write home about.

    Great videos, watched many of them. Can you rent if you don't have a long term visa? I work in the merchant navy, so I'm in and out to work every few months... but I also wouldn't want to move every time I came back...
    Looking at Thailand or Cambodia.

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah you can. Sometimes a landlord might ask for a work permit, but often they don’t. If you explain this to an agent you will be fine! Very common.

      @@thebangkokguide I know a few Brits in my line of work who live out there, but usually are married to Thais.
      It's hard to get people to understand that I'm working, won't be taking locals jobs and I never even get 90 days at home in one go. So my job tends to fall through LT visa cracks. But that's good to know. I guess with the multiple entry visa I'd still have to cross a horder after 60 days. How long do you have to stay out? I love travelling in Asia anyway, part of the reason I want to move out there is to have a base to travel from so having to leave wouldn't be a huge issue.

      Legally you are a resident if you stay in Thailand over 180 days per year… I’ve met people who have stayed in the country part-time for years using normal tourist visas. You just never know if you have an overly inquisitive immigration officer. Normally if they are suspicious, they might question you for 10 minutes and then let you in though.

    I am interested in working as a scuba diving instructor in Thailand. I am Canadian. What are your thoughts? Could I get a working visa?

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  3 месяца назад

      You can get a work visa as a dive instructor but it might be difficult to find an employer that will sponsor the visa.

    What about the business visa? Which agency or agent do you recommend to get multi entry tourist visa? Can one get a Thai bank account with a tourist visa?

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  6 месяцев назад

      If you want a business visa, to open a business or invest, it depends on a lot of different factors (business sector, investment size, nationality)... could cover it in a later video, but it is much more complex.
      For multiple entry visa, you don't need to use an agency. Just apply directly at the embassy. Shouldn't be a problem!
      You can open a bank account, but you have to walk around and check at lots of banks to find a teller that will actually do it.

    Good video, I'm coming here in a few weeks. Finally got my tourist visa, but gotta sort out plans for longer stays. Might pop over to Phnom. You mentioned Muay thai, does that count for education? Dropped an IG follow 👍

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  6 месяцев назад +1

      You should be fine for a while on the Tourist Visa. You can get an ED visa for Muay Thai. You just need to make sure the program is approved by the Ministry of Education. Safe travels!

      Yeah and that Muay Thai costs a lot per month also. You might want to check the price tag.
