    Good evening Ed wow it looks like your having an amazing time. Wow im absolutely speechless at how beautiful these ponds are. The water quality is spectacular. I love that property its like heaven. I would neven need to go anywhere else. So beautiful. Great your getting a look at a different style and seeing how you can incorporate their ideas with your systems. Can't wait to see what the future holds for ponds in the future. Just incredible and im in love whith the white sand bottoms. It looks so good. Im definitely going to see if i can get some white sand and put it in the bottom of my pond. Have an amazing time and hope you all make it home safely. See you next video like always.

      Crystal Hurb Thanks Crystal!
      The sand creates a very unique and beautiful look!
      If you add sand to your pond make sure it’s well washed to eliminate an potential impurities that may impact your water quality.
      Ricardo told me they went through a lot of suppliers before they found the right one.

    Hi Ed, love those Brazilian ponds. I m also thinking of adding ozone to my pond but there is very little information out there. Would you be able to go a bit into details with regards of ozone quantities per gallon that are pumped in these ponds? Also I am a bit afraid that ozone might shorten the life span of the EPDM liner since rubber gets damaged by this gas... what are your thoughts?

    • @edbeaulieu5916
      @edbeaulieu5916 4 года назад +2

      Habita GHS The membrane should be fine as long as the system is designed and installed properly.
      This is because the reactive properties of ozone should be gone by the time it mixes with the main pond.
      The Ozone is added into a reaction chamber where it mixes with the pond water.

    hello professor i have some questions about ozone...... what are the pros and cons of using ozone? .... is it harmful to fish if overdosed?

    • @edbeaulieu5916
      @edbeaulieu5916 4 года назад +2

      aqua gardening It can be very dangerous and literally kill everything!
      It takes an in depth understanding of water chemistry and management in order for it to work.
      It’s expensive and should not be used to cover any filtration inadequacies.....

      @@edbeaulieu5916 I have a portion of my aquarium in sand a some of the fish kicks up the sand which I see an accumulation in the filter. I guess you may have to be mindful of the species of fish that tend to burrow in substrate such as sand you keep such as convict chiclid and this includes usage of circulatory pumps.

    I love upflow filters with plants. I read some individuals don't believe they work in northern areas after the plants die back for the season. My thoughts are the layers of rock would still filter. Wonder what your thoughts are.

      We’ve done a handful of projects with sand bottoms and no ozone with success but you need adequate benthic circulation

  • @AkashSkylyn

    Love the sand bottom! But wouldn't the decomposing matter in anaerobic pockets create H2S which when released is harmful to the fish? Or is that concept just a myth!

    • @edbeaulieu5916
      @edbeaulieu5916 4 года назад +1

    So. With the ozone system you don't need mechanical filter?

    • @EdThePondProfessor
      @EdThePondProfessor  3 года назад

      No,
      You still need a mechanical filter to capture and remove large debris and organic compounds,
      This is still an important step otherwise the Ozone system will not be able to keep up with the nutrient load
