Things Morris Dancers Say

- This is a compilation of the types of things I end up saying at morris, or hear other morris dancers say. It is not representative of all morris dancers, nor is it an exhaustive list...
As stated in my disclaimer in the video, anything I say is not necessarily representative of the sides with which I dance - I just thought it would be better done in morris kit (also, I love wearing the kit and love excuses to put it on...)
However, if you're interested to know what sides those kits belong to...
1. Fiddlesticks (Northwest) wear the green skirts and black waistcoats. I have danced with them since 2008.
2. Pedants' Revolt (Border) wear the purple rag coats. I joined them in 2010 (The kit is not represented in full here, as we also paint our faces purple but I have not done so for these clips).
3. Golden Star (Cotswold) wear the red and yellow baldrics. I joined them very shortly ago, towards the end of 2015.
All of these groups are Norwich-based.

I dance with Powderkeg Morris in Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire... and I'm convinced i have indeed said everything in that list!

"why's your face painted black?"
They've never heard of camouflage
"No one noticed" should, of course, be shouted by somebody outside the set.
Also; you may have just created a potentially lethal drinking game...
haha oh yes! The musicians could play this game. In between not being told what dance is next, and having to guess the tune that's needed, they could drink whenever a morris dancer says one of these phrases... Then the music might begin to sound similar to how I sung the tunes... Or the morris dancers themselves could drink whenever they say one of these...

Chris Fromdevon2, the kits seen in this video are Golden Star Morris, Fiddlesticks northwest, and Pedants' Revolt... You can probably guess which is which. I'm also in a jig group and the Norwich Kitwitches :)
