Book of Circus was masterpiece by the way.
The plot of that arc is just on another level.
Surely because they finally decided to follow the amazing manga
The op for that was really interesting. Loved the aesthetic
I honestly prefer the ending in S2. I know that S2 isn´t canon but I think that S3 ending was a bit too bittersweet to my taste. I get the kind of series is supposed to be but I think that the ending had a bit of irony/justice considering how malicious Sebastian was portrayed in S2.
@@BOLDcast It put the series in a whole new light for me. Wasn't a huge fan of it beforehand but S3 BoC was the turning point for me and encouraged me to read the manga (still ongoing). Book Of Circus really hones in on that gothic Victorian circus setting and aesthetic.
What might be my favourite thing about it though is how it develops Ciel's (the boy master) and Sebastian's (the demonic butler) strange dynamic. It makes for real tension, having a young kid with a warped mindset gaining immense power at his beck and call through a demonic contract. Any more and I'd be giving serious spoilers!
Even if you don't have the chance to check it out properly , glad you find the openings appealing !
The best arcs still need to get adapted to be honest. From my favourites the Book if Atlantic thankfully was adapted into a movie, but still. Can't wait for them to finally adapt next few arcs. Like Forest Witch was great (as it really brings the feeling of it being close to the Great War). School arc was wholesome. But I genuinely want them to finally get to the Theatre arc, cause the show went full 180 on us. Especially with the plottwists that have been foreshadowed even in the anime adaptation of first seasons (which was genuinely shocking to me). And I also really love the flashbacks with the main crew histories, before they got recruited by Earl.

ah black butler... that show that went canon divergent really early and even made a second season based on the canon divergent 1st season before getting back to the canon Manga stuff with book of circus...
That's what happens when you adapt a monthly manga after it's been coming out for only two years when ep 1 first aired, the 9 canon episodes of s1 adapt basically all but two chapters that were out by the time it started airing. I can't fathom why they did it

It's how Tokyo Ghoul should have gone. Re: adaptation was sooo damn awful - and if was treated like Book of Circus it wouldn't end uo being such a waste of space.

Fun fact: learned how to play the first opening song in guitar even before I knew this anime was a thing. My friend used to listen to the Spanish fanmade version, and I liked it so much I had to learn it.

Season one adapted just a little bit from the manga and season two is full original. With Book of circus, Book of murder and Book of the Atlantic they animated some manga arcs. So there is not really a connection between season 2 and Book of circus^^

As much as I am not fan of season II I loved the openings the song the animation abd style it had so much personality and was visually pleasing. Stunning opening They don't make ones like that anymore or at least I have yet to see one that amanzing as that

Just saying that the anime adaptation is mostly anime originals stuff and s2 is a completely new story that doesn't have any connection to the manga story whatsoever.

TBtw, this is really confusing when you start watching. But. Second half of first season and whole second season is anime original filler with original ending xD The third season, Bok of Circus is the canon following manga and continuing from ep 14 of first season
The second ending name Lacrimosa basically means song of the dead. So saying it has a christmas vibe is hilarious

Book of circus was a fucking masterpiece and every arc after it(,maybbe cause they finally started following the manga lmao). Everything starts there tbh. Season two's existence is erased from the fandom's memories btw. You can even skip that whole season(you should skip that whole season) and you still won't lose something.

If Black Butler has piqued your interest, I recommend experiencing it through the manga, which has superb art, and a very mysterious story
The anime chose to go for an original story at some point, and it just isn’t as good, far from that actually
Actually anime came back to the main plot. I would say - watch the first season until Indian Butler arc ends (Black Butler -> Red Butler -> Indian Butler) . Then move like manga straight to Book of Circus, Book of Murder, then watch movie with Book of Atlantic and then continue the series properly with manga with Public School arc and Emerald Witch arc.

Season 1 was mostly original content with only 5 episodes from the manga. Season 2 continued with the original content. Book of circus red conned most of season 1 (except anything manga related) and all of season 2, making it confusing for those who never read the manga as much of what they know never happened.
I love how they know nothing about Black Butler but still said the circus arc strangely fits, and that they wonder what the fans think of the arc. Book of Circus is pretty widely accepted as being the best Black Butler arc ever.

ED: Oh wait... Now I'm sad cause you didn't watch all of them. Missing endings for season 2 and second/first versions of first two openings. And you missed Book of Atlantic intro sung again by SID... Now to pay for your sins you shall watch whole series (omit filler end of the season 1 that starts after Indian Butler arc and whole season 2 - going straight to Books of Circus, Murder and Atlantic).
In general it is a one of it's kind type of series. A mystery supernatural story about a young lord in Victorian times who makes pact with a devil to take revenge against people who killed his family? Who works as a person who does all the dirty work and controls underground world for the Queen Victoria?
Just for the usage of religious magical characters and actual real historical events and crimes, mixed with visual references and grotesque and gore reality of the time period, the show is really something else.

Only seen season 1 and 2 but they were both great to me definitely going to watch them again now never got to book of circus shame on me lol but

If you haven't watched Book of Circus well after that you gotta watch Book of Murder and Book of the Atlantic in this order if you're going chronological. They are straight up from the manga so you know you're getting good content.

And if you ever decide to watch this series I would suggest looking up the canon episodes. I think episodes 1-7 were canon as was ep. 13,14 but season 2 is completely off script. It does not exist in the manga. Book of circus, book of murder and book of the Atlantic are all canon and should have been season 2 and 3. There's enough material for it to continue animation and a reboot like FMA got but we don't have any news of that happening

The circus came from town to town, kidnapped and brainwashed children from each town to deliver to their own pedophilic master who did circus acts with them where they all died. The arc ends with ciel ordering sebastian (the butler) to burn it all down and to kill everyone. Meanwhile his remaining servants killed off the circus guys except the snake guy who later attempted to assassinate the earl but got caught and instead of being killed, started working for him instead.

What you're on about Book of Circus is pretty important for the plot of this story tbh and its really good writing and the new characters are really engaging and interesting.
