- On this episode, the boys rejoice a much needed win thanks to the heroics of the unlikeliest of guys, Mason Rudolph. They discuss who should be the starter in another must win game against the Seahawks, and question, is there possibly a QB battle down the road in Pittsburgh?

Rudolph has been in Pittsburgh the longest out of all QBs we have and that showed against the Bengals. Start Mason. He has the team gaining confidence. It was the best the offense has looked all season. He’s not afraid to take deep shots, and only throws the 3 yard passes when necessary. Rudolph needs to start and be QB1 in practice. If we switch it up again and now the offense has to practice with a new QB, it’ll mess up the rhythm we just gained. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but Mason Rudolph has to get the start.

It was a failure on this coaching staff to not have a FAIR competition for QB1 these past 2 years. Kenny was rookie last year and Mitch was backup the year before. Neither should've been guaranteed to start. Kenny ONLY has 13 TD in 2 yrs. Sit his ass down. Help the Fantasy owners😂
Too little too late, the team finally buckles down when the season is pretty much over, where was this the last 3 games when they shit the bed against the cardinals, Patriots & colts? Can't wait for another Mediocre 9-8 or 8-9 season

If they would have played like this the previous 3 weeks we wouldnt be sitting here talking playoff scenarios. Tomlin cant get his team ready to play. Other teams have had injuries this year too.
The only way they pull Rudolph imo is if Rudolph just pulls a Mitch and throws multiple int. Kenny and Mitch both struggled in multiple quarters so Mason should be granted that same leash.

But it’s not just one game. Hes started 11 games and has 5 2 touchdown games. That’s 4 more than Kenny and in 14 less starts.

both of Mason’s TDs were luck. The first was a 5 yd. slant. The Bengals played that poorly and missed tackles, and Pickens turned on the jets. The second one was a good pass, but the safety misplayed it and took a bad angle. Again, two long YACs, and everyone is getting excited over 2 TD passes. Good for Mason, but let’s not pretend he nailed an end zone fade or hit a receiver crossing over the back of the end zone.
There has been no film on Mason for over 2 years. I doubt Pete Carroll is going to ignore Pickens and he now has a tape of Mason playing.
Everyone needs to relax. This team is garbage, and everyone is excited because they beat another garbage team who is winless in the division.

I mean, I don’t really say it anymore. I would give him a few games under a new OC and pull the plug quickly and have a backup plan in place. I personally don’t think he’s the guy, but it’s hard to just bury him when he hasn’t played in a month and was seemingly better after Canada left, albeit very brief too.

86 yard touchdown was open 3 games ago prior to Mason's game, and Kenny Missed that throw by a mile. To all the casuals out there you can't fix Accuracy in the Pros despite what Skip says, See Tim Tebow.
On the TJ Watt situation: The other crazy thing about him having the year he’s having is our offense isn’t putting up a lot of points to make teams have to drop back and sling the ball around! And he’s still putting up these numbers! He is leading in all stats! What more does he have to do? Great show guys! And start Mason! If he plays like absolute dog shit then maybe put in Kenny at half.
My thinking is that if Kenny Is not playing, he would be made inactive. The media would shred Kenny apart if they see that he is In pads and not starting. Plus, Pittsburgh would be admitting their mistake. Nobody likes to admit their faults
It’s going be interesting to see if JPJ can guard Metkaff or not. Seahawks have 2 stud WR who are tough to cover and JPJ will have his hands full let’s hope he don’t get caught with holding.

What I saw in order to make the playoffs the STEELERS have to finish ahead of the Colts and Texans then at least tie with the Bills. Now if Jags continue to lose and one of the other south teams jumps over them and wins the division then they would need to then finish ahead of the Jags.

I think Kenny is still their guy.. but if Mason balls the last 2 weeks, I don’t think there is a guarantee he’s the guy. Personally I’d like to see them go get another QB. Either draft early or Kirk Cousins.

Steelers have to run the ball if they run the ball they will win these final 2 games. First it allows the defense to get rested and not out on field constantly . 2nd it works the clock and that’s huge is controlling the clock.

I’d say he isn’t as bad as you think. This offensive system sucks. Get him a real OC and a real offensive system and let’s see what he is. They’ve wasted 2 years of his rookie contract. Not smart. Kenny may stink, but I’d like to see him with someone who can design an NFL offense.

To add to Jerry’s point at 7:10 - not only had Mason not started in 800+ games, but he was THIRD string. He hadn’t even had the opportunity to practice with his WRs prior to the 7- day period. I think that’s an incredibly underrated aspect to look at. Basically equivalent to signing with a team and having 7 days to practice before play, without needing to learn the playbook. Mason balled out!!

Mason is on a one year deal. It does make sense to get playing time with Kenny. I think Mason is a better qb right now but he's hitting the open market after the season ends.

Kenny did what his coaches told him to do. He isn’t allowed to audible. He was told not to turn the ball over. He’s a young guy, he’s not going to defy the coaches. Mason didn’t GAF. He just put some tape together for his agent to shop him after the season. Good for him, he deserves it.
