Germans wear Lederhosen, Germans have no sense of humour, Germans are always on time... These are just some of the well-known and widespread stereotypes about Germans. Are these stereotypes about Germans true or not? Some of the German stereotypes out there are simply a myth. I'm going to tell you about some of the FALSE stereotypes that I've heard the most over the last few years. Here are 5 German stereotypes that are NOT TRUE explained by a German. Viel Spaß!

Learn German with a natural approach and comprehensible German!
In the classroom we are told to endlessly study grammar and memorise concepts, however, research shows that language is acquired through authentic experiences. The concept of Natürlich German is based on Dr. Stephen Krashen's second language acquisition theory, in which one uses comprehensible input to acquire a language, rather than 'learn' it.

Ich habe während der Pandemie angefangen, Deutsch zu lernen, habe zu Hause ein Buch gefunden und angefangen zu lernen. Mir kam die deutsche Sprache immer aggressiv vor, weil wir immer nur Hitlers Rede im Fernsehen sahen. aber ich habe mich in diese Sprache verliebt und für mich ist es die Sprache der Liebe❤

I thought the German language sounded aggressive before i started learning it, but i now love it :) And you definitely don't sound aggressive. I often wonder how the English language sounds to non English speakers.

David Hasselfhof ist schockiert, nachdem er dieses Video gesehen hat 🤭.
When I moved to Austria more than a decade ago I knew nothing of the Hasselhof/Berlin Wall connection. I only vaguely knew who Hasselhof was from having lived in the US. I was therefore astonished at how well known and loved he was in Austria. I can assure you from my own experience Hasselhof is far bigger in Austria and Germany than he is in the US. I was told by locals all about how one of Hasselhof's songs became intimately associated with the fall of the Berlin Wall and how the song and Hasselhof were greatly cherished in Germany and Austria for that reason. I've seen Hasselhof posters for shows along the streets (and documented that in photos out of that astonishment I mentioned earlier) and I've been met with equal astonishment by Austrians when I've revealed my ignorance of Hasselhof's song and TV history, as if it is unquestioned common knowledge here and in Germany. So I have to call your bluff on that one, Miss Anna. You may not like the fame Hasselhof has in Germany and Austria. You may wish it weren't so. But it definitely is beyond any doubt.

I don’t think you, or Germans in general, sound aggressive in every day speech. I think any language can sound aggressive when used aggressively. But overall I find German to be one of the more interesting and nice sounding languages (minus the French words, I hate the way French sounds 😂).

I don't think German sounds aggressive, but it does sound harsh or forceful at times. But mostly, I think it sounds cool!

Natürlich die deutsche Sprache ist nicht agressiv. Ich liebe Deutsch. Normalerweise gibt es viele Klichees. Dieses, es ist schlimmeres.
