    Hey Matt, amazing tutorial. Thank you so much! Quick question. How would you go about laying the UV's for the whole stitch?You created UV's for one but how would you seamlessly repeat it across the whole mesh? Thank you in advance!

    • @MattCorcoranArt
      @MattCorcoranArt  4 года назад

      Hey Nicolas, I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorial! Once you’ve modeled your stitch, whatever UVs you initially give them will be used for every new stitch generated. So basically, just make sure you UV the stitches before using it as a stitch brush, and you’ll be good to go!

    That's fantastic. I've used this to create a different brush already. :)
    Are you planning on giving your brush away?

    Hey man! good tutorial! I dont know why, but my imm mesh doesnt place the mesh on the model in the correct direction, and I dont know how to solve it. what did I do wrong? do you know how I can fix it?? Thanks

    • @ronas1996
      @ronas1996 6 лет назад +1

      I FIXED IT nevermind

    • @MattCorcoranArt
      @MattCorcoranArt  6 лет назад +1

      Hey thanks Fox! When you add the mesh too the IMM make sure you have it aligned correctly in the view port before adding the mesh to the brush. If it alignment is still not correct, rotate the mesh in the view port and then add mesh again. Do this till you get the desired alignment. Let me know if that helps, cheers!

    So if I'm making a game ready mesh how can I create an ID just to texture with different color and stuff just for the stiches?

    • @MattCorcoranArt
      @MattCorcoranArt  Год назад

      You can color the stitches before or after using polygroups and then bake them out as a texture to use as an ID. :)

    Hey Matt. Great tutorial! Probably a dumb question but how did you select the edge loop to place the stitch? That would make my life a lot easier. Thanks!

    • @MattCorcoranArt
      @MattCorcoranArt  5 лет назад

      Thanks! I'm glad that it's helpful to you. In the video I am using the "SelectLasso" tool. You can find it in the Brush Menu. Once the tool is activated hold down Ctrl+Shift and Click and edge. It will isolate or remove the edgeloop. Hope that helps!

    • @garybrown7732

      @@MattCorcoranArt Thanks for replying Matt. The problem I am having is actually the very next part. From what I understand, once the polyloop is hidden, you click on the edgeloop, begin drawing, and then hold shift. That will select the entire edgeloop to apply the curve. Correct? For some reason it's not catching the edgeloop like it does in your video. Very frustrating. I've been scouring google to find the answer with no luck so far.

    • @MattCorcoranArt
      @MattCorcoranArt  5 лет назад +1

      Couple things to try: Start drawing and then hold down shift after you've started drawing. Make sure symmetry is off. Make sure you have a complete edge loop. Make sure lazy brush is off. Make sure curve is set to snap under Stroke>Curve>Snap. Cheers!

      Son of a .... I just figured it out. For anybody else, In order for it to work you have to go into 'Curve Functions' under 'Stroke' and turn on 'Border'. I thought that only worked when the 'Frame Mesh' brush is clicked but apparently it also works for this technique too. Oye. ... Thanks again for the tutorial Matt! :)
