Finally Studio One 5 ‘For Dummies’. Thank You.
You are Great. ....Explaining Vocabulary & Terms are important when learning a New Concept.
Most “DAW instructors” assume that all musicians learning electronic musical skills, ...... are ‘Nerds’.
They don’t understand ... Simple Objectives & Pacing ..... good stuff. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for ‘Keeping It Simple’

A lot of people have said how good this tutorial is for Studio One but I disagree... it's just a bloody good tutorial for ANYTHING! "X does this, Y does this... or you can do it this way."
Dang it, you wouldn't think it was that hard but how many friggin tutorials do there have to be which say "TODAYWE'REGONNALEARNHOWTOMAKETHISULTRACRAPPYSONGTHATYOUDONTWANNAMAKEALLSOYOUCANFINDOUTWTFMIIIIIIDI IS YEAH!"
Thank you my dude, from down under.

I am totally new to the world of recording and found that many of the "beginner" classes for Presonus assumed you already knew the basics but even though they said they did they still assumed a lot. This is the first one that really taught the basics. THANKS VERY MUCH! Now I have a decent shot at actually recording our band's music.

I admit I judged your youthful appearance and thought you were unlikely to have the pedagogical knowledge and experience. I’m glad I watched anyway because you are actually the BEST teacher/presenter on this topic, and I have watched scores of videos on Studio One.
You go at just the right pace, you zoom into the screen at the right times, like options on a context menu, which is great for someone like me who prefers watching videos on my phone, and you present things in a logical order. I wish you could remake all the videos in my Studio One playlist.
    Presonus should hire you!

This however took me from literally like "what is all this" to "oh i got this" lol. Daws look like a lot but the way you broke this down, i didnt realise how simple this all really is. Its actually not as much as this looks like.

Wow, this is actually super helpful! I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to upgrade Ableton Live or switch to Studio One, but there are a few things holding me back. For example, I really like the automation feature in ableton and how relatively simple it is. I assume there's something similar in studio one?
Other than that, it seems that Studio one is a really good balance between fruity loops and Ableton, and this has really helped me come to a decision!

    • @ElectronicMusicSchool
      @ElectronicMusicSchool  4 года назад +2

The automation is pretty similar. With the paint tool and transform tool in studio one you can draw in different shapes. I think this is slightly quicker in Ableton though as you don't have to change tools.
Download the trial or the free version of Studio One and try it out for yourself before you switch.
I have a video on automation coming soon.

What version of studio one 5 are you using? is there a significant enough difference to justify buying the most pricey version?
I ask cause i want to start my music making journey here and I don't want to spend too much if it's not needed but I also don't want to resort to buying the more expensive one later if it turns out to be well worth it. love the videos keep it up.

    • @ElectronicMusicSchool

I'm using Studio One 5 Professional. It completely depends on what you're looking to make to be honest.
There's a comparison on the PreSonus website. Have a think about what you need and I'd suggest trying the free version or free trials first. See how that goes before you spend money 💰🙂
