- "Erik In..." is a vlog series following the travels and activities of Erik Anders Lang. In this episode, Erik and Colt begin their 48 hour trip to North Carolina to visit PINEHURST; one of the most iconic golf courses and resorts in the game.
To make the most of it, Erik and Colt squad up with Akbar Chisti of Seamus Golf and Ashley Mayo of 8AM Golf to stay in Donald Ross' original cottage that sits on the 3rd fairway of course No. 2 (OMG). They get to sample some of the best Pinehurst has to offer: a pre-dawn round at No. 2, a game on the post-renovation/restoration of No.4 (by the modern day Donald Ross, Gil Hanse), and a quick loop of Gil Hanse's new, brilliant par 3 course called "The Cradle."
In this first episode in a series of three, glow balls make an appearance on the No. 2 course before daybreak, Erik holes out, and the guys take a picture with Payne who overlooks the 18th green.

This was great! Thanks for giving some love to the maintenance guys and highlighting them some, usually people just get annoyed with us, but without us, the golf would be considerably different! Those guys on 2 work hard, they deserve the love, so thanks again! 👍🏻🏌🏼♂️

I’m 1.5 hours from Pinehurst. My daughter lives there. I have been to 2 US Opens with my first when Payne Stewart won. I played #2 in the Nov of 2000 and it was not a good score day. I can’t even image playing the Pro tees at 300 more yards. The area around Pinehurst and Southern Pines is a magical place with great food, small shops, breweries, and entertainment. I will not go back now as the cost is better spent on playing more of the courses in the same area. It was a great memory though.

I’ve played all of the Pinehurst resort courses, can’t wait to play the new #10 once it’s completed.
Went up to Pinehurst for my bachelor party last August. My best man and groomsmen surprised me with a round at Pinehurst No. 2. Best time I've ever had struggling to break 90.

I play Palatka Golf Club Wich is a Ross design and with deep revines and and decent par 3s...... I like all Ross courses
Man I just got into practicing golf recently and I wish my interest in it happened earlier. I’m a craft beer and fine wine sales rep down in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines/Fayetteville area so I’m obviously constantly surrounded by golf culture (not to mention Donald Ross courses)! The world of golf was a world I never grew up in because we grew up pretty poor and it always seemed elitist. I’m an avid trail runner, climber, hiker/backpacker - all that kinda jazz - and I never tried golf till this past October. My aunt is an instructor and she gave me a few tips and now I am HOOKED. I keep practicing on greens and driving ranges because I’m nervous to get out on an actual course but apparently there’s an awesome 18 hole course that’s all par 3 in Apex, NC that a coworker wants to take me out to. Golf has been a really fun addition to my life and I’m psyched to keep learning!
