You know, something tells me that this whole Z-Sword nonsense was done wrong. I think the Z-Sword is supposed to be more like Mjolnir or the Sword in the Stone, where only the one true worthy person can truly pick it up without any problems. But since Saiyans are so strong and powerful, I think Gohan was able to pick it up with sheer brute strength. I mean throughout the Buu saga, we see time after time that none of these gods ever for a moment thought that someone could produce that much power. I think Goku and Gohan were simply strong enough to cancel out the sword's weight (probably the same enchantment Kami used on Goku's weighted clothes).
No I think you're missing the point. If there's one thing Db was good at it's subverting expectations.
It's setup to be like the sword in the stone worthyness cliche but that get's totally subverted when the old kai comes out of it, which lead to Gohan's ultimate power up.
There's nothing special about the sword itself but over thousands of years it's history has become distorted into myth and legend. The true power of the sword is the Elder Kai trapped inside.
@@diddlenfiddle7311 not just Thor or dbz has done this lame plot device of oh I found a power weapon or created one. Then just as quickly made them useless or pointless to the story. And all I can say is this wasn't about creating a powerful moment but more equivalent to the Simpsons Malibu Stacy doll mockery that it was just a neat thing they could throw with a toy and sell the same thing over and over again. That is all just like going super Saiyan or fusion a slight costume change and need I go on. But you should all get the point it's all for toy sales and dumb ways to create a merchandise that you'd want. Even though the sword was useless in the show bet at least a thousand plus fans bought this thing if a really life version was released.

The Kais have got to be the (physically) weakest gods I've ever seen in any anime adaptation.
Zamasu wasn't weak. then there was one of the kais that held off majin buu so shin could escape. I guess shin and kibito are just the Raditz of their race.
Here's a bit of analysis, given that Goku was just able to hold the Z sword with difficulty the Z-sword probably weighs just a little under 40 tons as Goku was seen stuggling with 40 tons of training gear just before the tournament till he went super saiyan.
That was ten tons on each on both arms and legs two different thing from a sword and weights
