If Trunk only get 10% power of what Guku had that time, that means it might not be easy for 8 year old ssjTrunk to kill Frieza, at least not that easy as Guku did.

I think him getting absorbed would have been fine if he was brought into the fight with Kid Buu. I know they needed Dende but it would have been a good idea to bring Gohan, Goten and Trunks into that fight since they were all stronger than Vegeta(the latter two as Gotenks) was at that point. Plus it could have been a good time to have Gohan help Goku use the spirit bomb.

1:25 this scene had me scared as a kid. White lightning crackling as he unfolds his hands. The dub music significantly helped with this. It gave the imagination infinite possibilities of the amount of power Gohan was capable of.
Hindsight, it’s sad how things unfolded but at least the Super Hero film gave Gohan fans what they have been asking for.

It isn’t the same ultimate Gohan from z, overcoming confidence in battle. But it didn’t matter whether he was confident or not as either way he was defeated. Ultimately, pun intended, his return to his ultimate form was completely wasted. It could have been done so much better.

It's just downright amazing that it wasn't even his full power ,his potential is damn near limitless that's why I never hated on Gohan because at the end of the day the guy is a monster. he may not be as driven as Goku or Vegeta but if he really wants to fight Gohan is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

He was only the main character of the Cell games, he didn't get much attention before that. But it's a well known fact he was supposed to be the star of the entire Buu saga, but fans didn't care for Gohan and the whole Great Saiyaman thing so Toriyama changed his mind.
Lord Vader Heck, he was supposed to be the hero of the entire show. Goku died in Season 1 remember, and fans and upper production pressured Toriyama into bringing Goku back.

Power levels are debatable but impossible to accurately measure. There are to many loop holes and ways to argue on who is stronger than who. All we know is that normally Goku is the main character and is typically a lot stronger or at least a bit stronger than anyone else. Here Gohan was actually made stronger than Goku and yet he was beaten by Buu and absorbed so it was left up to Goku and Vegeta to defeat him. Never assume you know anything about power levels at all because nobody really does. lol.

17jun1989 I reckon that, assuming they actually start a new series or set of movies, Vegeta will become the new God of Destruction and Goku will take the place of Whis (or however you say that) and keep him under control. That's hopeful thinking though, because I highly doubt that Dragonball is gonna get anything more than another two movies and a few short specials at most.
Not really. Mystic Gohan was easily handling Buu while ssj3 Goku was probably not even strong enough to kill fat Buu on his own.
speedboy6776 I think Goku could have handled fat Buu but he thought about it and realized that he needed to make sure the Earth had a reasonable defender when he left so he devised a plan to make Trunks and Goten defend it using fusion. Then all hell breaks loose when Fat Buu is absorbed by an even worse threat from within. Gohan always seems to decline training during times of peace though so he's always getting passed again at some point.

I remember this scene giving me the most chills ever in anime, and I'm not even a huge Gohan fan. The look on Goku's face right after Gohan blows away the Elder Kai speaks a thousand words. Until that point, he's NEVER been that impressed by his own family/allies.
Goku being shocked despite knowing gohans potential makes perfect sense when you consider that gohan at that exact moment was stronger than ssj3
Yea because super buu was stronger than kid buu an ultimate gohan was winning until he got absorbed which made super buu as ultimate gohan stronger than kid buu as well people don’t understand that kid buu wasn’t the strongest form he was just the most direct an most evil which made it look like he was stronger but goku didn’t need a vision for kids buu that’s the point the fusion is what proves the point any time you fuse that means the opponent is way to strong for instance broly they had to fuse
