I don't live in the US, and our schools are traditionally split into all boys/girls schools, so guys don't have that good a reason to dress up too much, which does make me slightly stand out, it's nice! barely got any bullies at school. i keep hearing Americans talking about how high school's a nightmare, honestly, where i live, high school seems to be the best time of your life. (kinda like Japan, except people are friendlier here)

I live in a small town and have heard so many, "who you doing all that for, there's nobody to impress" moments with people and its like---I dont enjoy much, but I love making myself look nice(for me) I never even put it on others to care about fashion/style in the way I do. Im plus sized and its hard as fuck to find things that fit my personal style so when I do it feels like a treasure also like another said, I like feeling like a bad biishhh ☺
i occasionally customize my clothes so they become more comfy or have more uses (like sewing an extra inside pocket on my jacket or smth)... guess thats a functional artist? tho i dont consider myself one im just bored and go to thrift stores too much

i'm mostly a casual but i guess the guiding philosophy behind *how* i dress is that i kinda have issues with my physical appearance. not that i think i'm ugly, but that i feel my physical features don't quite *fit* me. so while i can't do much to control what my body looks like, what clothes i put on in the morning is an aspect of my appearance i can consciously control. and if i choose a flashy outfit, it does even more to distract from my face/body. people spend less time staring at my baby face and stringy body that i never chose, and are too busy staring at the shirt that looks like a bowling alley carpet fused with grandna's couch that i DID choose to put on
