I agree on Category 5 Because:
> The Houses got ripped off their Foundations!
> The Storm Surge is Cat 5 Equivalent
> The Damages look like a Nuclear Explosion, same as Andrew did
> 919mbars is Totally enough for a Cat 5
ThePhoneExpert yes, damage looks like violent (EF4 or 5) tornado damage, in which wind speeds are >175 mph. Some of that was also storm surge. In my opinion, the pressure got down to 917, which is really low for a Cat. 4. One of the reasons I am almost 100% sure it was a 5 is because TWC said that it may be too low.
@@benni1951 Irma was a Cat 4 on US Landfall tho, But I Also Agree on Irma about your Intensity. The Islands were nearly Decimated
@@benni1951 Plus Maria Also worsened Irma's Destruction on the Islands Including Dominica and Puerto Rico.
Josh74000 MC No, it didn’t. Irma was downgraded to 180 mph.
Winds determine that though. Max winds were 155. Just 1 mph dhort of cat 5
Michael is a Category 5 IMO. It's satellite presentation and pressure (as well as Dvorak) convinced me to be one. Will be highly shocked if NHC keeped it 155 mph in it's TCR.
I agree and i am a Cat 5
Idk. I don't think there's enough evidence to support a 5
UNIT GAMEX here you are again, it’s a Cat 5
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Michael
@@unitgamex2972 well it’s confirmed
Michael was a Cat 5. End of discussion
UNIT GAMEX “Wind wise” it had 160 MPH 1-Min sustained winds - which is a Category 5 hurricane. It was determined MONTHS ago that it was a 5 by people that actually got a degree. Stop saying it’s a 4
Yeritza Morales ok I believe Michael was a 5, but a CAT3 can “feel” like a CAT5 if you’re in the most intense part of the eyewall. Also Michael was 919mb not 917mb. Katrina was 920mb at landfall and was a CAT3.
Typhoon Haiyan was Cat 5 with 195mph at landfall
@@TheOfficialRandomGuy iota was917 mb
NHC: ok Michael is a C5, stop calling him(it) a C4
Turns out you were right! It got reclassified this weekend to a Cat 5 right before landfall! That's insane. I hope everyone in the panhandle ends up okay. I hear recovery efforts are still going on.
ty , we still dont have many livable houses atm for many of us but past the hathaway bridge the damage pretty much stops
I was living outside of Dothan, Alabama at the time. It was rough there too. Yes, it was a cat 5.

I like how it started right by Panama City in Panama and made landfall at Panama City in Florida. Ironic, but scary either way
Did feel like a Cat. 5 with all of the after math damage
HASSIEL ALMAGUER lmao now that’s officially a cat5
@@wildearth3992 idk. I disagree. To me it was a cat4
UNIT GAMEX Who are u ? Nobody professional said that it was a cat5 now shut up
UNIT GAMEX It’s officially rated a Category 5...
I saw the damage, the trees were completely blown down. The ones that were still standing had no leaves and no branches. It was definitely a category 5, and one of the strongest hurricane landfalls in the U.S.
fun fact: post analysis showed that not only did it hit the florida panhandle as a category 5, but it had also already strengthened into a category 2 as it was passing the western tip of cuba. this storm was dramatically underestimated throughout almost the entirety of its track. the tcr also acknowleged that the averaged official intensity forecast errors for this storm were significantly larger than the mean official errors for the previous 5-yr period. ironically this is while also being one of the most accurately predicted track forecasts ever made.
Who really knows how strong the winds were with Michael, the post analysis can affect some of the strongest storms for instants..
Charley went from 145 mph to 150 mph
Irma went from 185 mph to 180 mph
Camille went from 190 to 175 mph
Andrew went from 145 mph(at landfall(I maybe wrong)) to 165 mph
Patricia went from 200 mph to 215 mph
Judging by how recent "some" of these are and the fact that Michael was still strengthening when it was approaching land. Michael could have made landfall with winds anywhere from 150 mph to 165 mph(165 could be a little high but, who's to say that it wasn't that high). I believe that it could've became a category 5
InstinctBlade i agree
Actually You're Right on Andrew. It was estimated on 2004 that Andrew made Landfall on Florida with winds of 160mph.
Yep Those sciencetists never learn to measure us hurricanes properly
@@michaelramos9939 Exactly, the fact that nearly every major hurricane that hit land had an analysis that really changed the storm proves that our technology is not good enough to accurately measure our strong a hurricane is currently let alone predict how strong it will it. Florence and Irma for example. The possibility of Michael being a category 5 is just as equal as it staying a category 4.

So you guys think it was a CAT 5?
The Dog yes
it might have been, remember it was about 1 mph below cat 5 at landfall according to other people, it could have been cat 5
It wouldn't surprise me that it became one but, it would be exciting to know that(not saying that it was a good thing).
No but it was 1 mph away from cat 5

Why did it show it strengthening to category 5 after landfall?
because i guess they think it did, remember it was about 1 mph below cat 5 at landfall according to other people, it could have been cat 5
KitKat 413 because it kinda did.

@@unitgamex2972 Michael was a category 5 it was confirmed post analysis after the season
@@carmellolb200 I know
The damage and footage I have seen, as well as the satellite presentation, lead me to believe it will be upgraded to a Category 5.
Tree damage appears like EF3+ Tornado damage, same goes for buildings. Many chasers are in consensus that it will be upgraded.
Idk man.
Even after post season analysis I'm not convinced.
I feel like there's not enough evidence to support category 5
@@unitgamex2972 it was upgraded soooo yeah
Michael might be upgraded to a CAT 5 in a post season analysis
A future person says yes it was
people who keep saying that it was a cat 4 just because thats what the nhc decided to stick with at the time, you should know, that was just an estimate also. they all are. thats why they do a post analysis on every single storm. they compile all the satalite data, ground reports, and data from analyzing the damage and use all that to establish the actual route and intensity of the storm with a much higher degree of accuracy. based on what ive heard from relatives within the storm zone, i wouldnt be surprised at this point if it gets upgraded to 165, or even 170 mph. at the rate it was intensifying, it certainly had the time
I totally agree with it being a category 5, it was still a decent distance from land when it reached a category 4 and i knew it would become a category 5. It was 155 and I feel like it was a little above, looking at Hurricane José from last year, it said winds were 162 so it was a category 5. And lots of other storms where they got the models wrong, I think that Michael was cat 5 with 160-170 mph winds. I totally agree with you guys, keep up the good work! 👍
My winds were 160 mph yes and i am a Category 5
I completely destroyed the florida panhandle thanks for making this for me Force thirteen its nice!

I remember Hurricane Michael like it was yesterday. We we're at the Golden Nugget in Louisiana when it made landfill.
I'm sure you've been asked MANY times, but how do you make these hurricane animations? And who's responsible for making those sprites?
Category 5, for sure. It did much more damage inland than even Katrina and Harvey did. It was also a different type of damage.
In my opinion category 5 is wind. That's it. Which is why I think it was a cat 4. Even now
No it did not micheal was bad but it didn’t even come close to doing as much damage as Katrina or Harvey that’s a bold statement

Where can i get the hurricane animations?
I don’t think Michael is ready to join the elite club of Category 5 landfalls in the US until at least Michael’s TCR comes out. So for now, I’ll hold it at 155 mph
NHC upgraded it to a cat 5 with 160mph winds. After analyzing
Ironic thing is that it started in Panama’s Panama City and ended up in Florida’s Panama City
Another thing is that their are rumors that Michael’s winds exceeded up to 170 or more. It is unlikely but is possible, considering the wind radar was damaged.
Yes and we have never been directly hit ever!
good animation!
On Cancun the winds exceded 77 kmh
Fact: This sounds strange but this is true, when Tropical Storm Kirk dissipated. It continued moving a little more west where at a point where it was absorbed by a large area of thunderstorms. The became a disturbance to the NHC and formed into Micheal. Sounds strange how the remnants of Kirk somewhat made Micheal.
I know. I’m surprise no one else knows this

A very surprising hurricane.. It was amazing and scary.
One note and a question:
Your graphic shows Michael attaining Cat 5 strength some 40-50 miles inland. That's wrong.
Question: At 2:01, with the eye straddling the coastline, it appears the clear eye is just slightly further west than I thought, or maybe its diameter is just larger than I thought.
Is the satellite imagery altered in any way? If it's accurate, I would've expected more substantial damage on Panama City Beach. But then, they were on the west (weaker) side with offshore wind and so no storm surge.
But, this 2:01 indicates eastern PCBch (Thomas Dr., Grand Lagoon, etc.) experienced eyewall, and the damage was less than I'd expect from that.
i think that it strenghted couple of miles before landfall or even strenghteed literlary when it landfalled to Cat 5, as during landfall it has intensified to 160mph winds
@@omchantal69 Michael strengthened right up to the point where it was interacting with land.
i guess you didn't understand my comment. Your graphic is not accurate when it indicates Cat 5 was reached 40-50 miles inland. That point is not debatable. In fact, by that point it had weakened substantially from its strength at landfall.
Yeah, this is because the timeline wasn't very smooth. Intensity and direction updates every 6 hours, which is 1 bar in the timeline. If you look closely you see that the last 6 hours of october 10th ticks pretty much at landfall, and then the next 6 hours is where the hurricane is far into land. This issue doesn't really happen any more with animations of today, they are far smoother and more accurate.
I hope i explained it well.
@@Ouskiller Still, not satisfied. First, this was only four years ago.
And, beginning 7-hours before landfall the NHC started issuing hourly updates...which is typical in recent years for a strong landfalling huricane.
What does the green around the icon mean?
Wind field
My analysis:
160mph, 918mb (in between the NHC and F13)
I gotta say for thousands of people it felt like Cat 5 but at landfall it was with winds at 155mph with a pressure of 919mb that would place it at highend Cat 4 boarder line Cat 5, but seriously if it was moving slower it would have made lanfall as a Cat 5!!!
You know this means there's no more named storms that are named Michael past 2018
When I first heard about Micheal, I didn't think it could become a Cat 5. I think it was a Cat 5.

Michael had 155 MPH winds
Not really, I think it just briefly became a Cat. 5 just at landfall
trekt .-. I think everyone agrees it’s a category 5 except the NHC. Even the people on TWC were quite doubtful about it being a 4
AS1238 Tracking yeah, they showed it as a cat 4 in the wee hours before landfall, which is when it was probably a 5, and then they showed it as a 5 inland when it was already weakening
Why would it be a problem if it was cat 5 or not it still did MAJOR damage which is the main threat of the storm wouldnt a storm with 155mph winds get the same fear as a storm with 160mph just because it isnt "cat 5"???
Video title says "The track of Hurricane Michael". Still no track in a video. Is it hard to put a line behind a storm as it goes, colored in, to show it`s intensity?
