(Reformed Pastor of 40 Years) Would love to hear you discuss the etiology of the word "demon" in this context; i.e., that "daemons" were thought to be spiritual entities lower than gods but had legitimate authority over certain aspects of nature. Is is significant that the NT writers chose this term to talk about inimical/hostile spirits.
So, in the same way that Heiser would say that demons are the disembodied spirits of giants? Who , themselves, are offspring of gods and human women.
@@Navarrator10 Close; as you said, Heiser says that the "demons" are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim killed in the flood. But the daemons of Greek mythology are more like nature spirits - not so much Watchers, or Sons of God (who would have been seen as the gods themselves), but rather lesser entities that had genuine authority. I wonder if we are missing something - maybe the term "demon" even in the New Testament has a broader range of meaning than we give it credit for?

I have had interactions with dogman and bigfoot. I didn't think I ever would, nor did I seek to, nor care to.
At the same time I definitely didn't think that there were tiny, human type creatures running around in the night, even after experiencing dm and bf.
Then one night I came down the stairs of my friend's apartment building in the night. The parking lot was dimming lit up. A sidewalk ran along the side of the building, with plants next to the building.
Completely unexpectly I saw a very small, human type creature run across the sidewalk. It came out of the plants by the building and ran into some bushes just a little ways in front of me.
I don't doubt much anymore, but I believe that Scripturally the earth contains the only living creatures in the entire universe.
The only possible exception might be if satan's forces take some living creatures, that originated on our planet, to somewhere else in the universe, but I doubt it.

I don't think angels are purely spirit. If they were they could not have mated with earth women and made children. They operate mostly in then spirit realm. They can move in and out of our world; appear and disappear. Angles don't seem to be the only creatures that have this ability. The celtic legends say that there are good fairies and bad fairies. They are said to live in another realm that seems heavenly where time is suspended and doesn't progress the same way. Angles are different sizes; some huge and some tiny, so their sizes coud easily be differnt than people like Bigfoot to little tiny firefly sizes. I think humans were not meant to commune with them. And if they were appointed by God to care for nature, people are not their job. They are either demonic or natural and need to be left alone--either way....not for humans. Don't seek them, don't worship them, don't pray to them or offer them offerings....just...don't.

There's a video of a pastor on RUclips Louie Giglio call Mom which I might have misspelled, where he showed some videos of sending out light telescopes and sound telescopes that were aimed at stars and it's just like putting powders on a subwoofer they will dance in certain patterns to certain sounds so the stars in a sense do dance and sing because they have their own sound. Those specific sounds give off different patterns of the materials the stars are made from which is just another beautiful display of the Lord's creativity

A question about eschatological timing (37"-38"ish). Could it be the stars that the dragon casts to the earth - the 1/3 - are his stars? He obviously doesn't wanna be cast into the lake of fire alone. Plus, there's his release for a thousand years, too. He's read God's Word. He knows he's gonna have another shot at God's image bearers - mankind - so wouldn't he need his minions to plan his next moves? I dunno why I think like this, but my mind does an automatic 'make it fit with scripture' thing. Around the 24:45 mark, yeah I remember camping with some mates just off a beach near the Ningaloo reef in Western Australia. One night we decided to jump in one of the utes and go for a drive, my mate was driving, I was in the passenger seat, and 2 guys on the back. I remember cruising through the dunes, having a good time, not doing anything silly (I think maybe we had gone to a different fishing spot for the evening or something.) All of a sudden I just remember getting super creeped out, like that feeling when you are alone in the bush and you see a funny light or hear animal noises. Except I was in a car with my mates and music going and everything. I asked my mate if he felt a bit weird and he said that something had just given him the heeby jeebies like we were being watched or something. We were looking around if there was anything strange, but there was nothing we hadn't already seen, we had gotten prettty familiar with that place by then. It was super strange that we both suddenly got creeped out at the same time with no explanation at all. We just decided not to say anything to the guys on the back and head bqck to camp asap. For the last 9 years I've wondered what we felt, perhaps it was some kind of spiritual being, who knows.

@Chakra-ze2mw I'm not sure, we don't really have any of those kinds of cryptids in Australia. Sometimes there are rumours of panthers and things gone wild, and there are also stories of things like min min lights, but even the min min lights are more of an eastern states phenomenon. To be honest, my mate and I had a really weird feeling that we could not explain at the same time for no reason at all, and I've never found an explanation.

enjoying broad opinions and finding some of my own. It is good to think and find references in the Word. Perhaps since the stars were made in Genesis 4 the angles who were watching were called stars. That may explain why the term stars is used for angels and actual stars. Perhaps some of the star-like UFOs that appear and instantly disappear are such angelic stars. Only some of them! Who knows if it fits the puzzle of endless pieces.
Gary Wayne in The Genesis 6 Conspiracy suggests fairies are a creature the fallen angels made. He also calls out Tolkien and Lewis as being members of the Inklings and are in the bloodline of fallen angels. Their books were telling the stories of their religion.
I'm still not sure why they have to be angels or supernatural. Why can't they be themselves as, perhaps, God created them?
I do have to ask about something that has happened in many locations but the only video reference coming to mind happened in rome. There was a video out that captured these little balls of light, multiple colors that were seemingly doing some sort of surveillance around one of the Catholic buildings and I know what the word Vatican means in English so you can assume maybe they are connected in the bad way but when you started putting up the series and you brought up fairies I was thinking maybe they were those little balls of light again doing some sort of surveillance or maybe they were manipulating material yet after watching this video it doesn't seem like that's the case of them being fairies compared to being their own potential version of a messenger have you seen these videos or even the specific one I'm mentioning? What would you claim that presents to be in accordance with this complete series?
I really want to understand why when talking about higher level beings the idea of redemption always comes in. Where is the elephant messiah or whale messiah. Who are we to dictate what should be redeemed or how. If angels, aliens, highly intelligent creatures/beings exist and have society so be it, just be grateful we were created in the image of God and do have access to redemption with Jesus. We are clearly a higher order and Paul understood that and try to even explain it. Right now we are fallen but will be literally resurrected and the highest order dwelling literally in the same house as the creator of it all. That’s pretty special and should speak volumes.

Stoichion are mentioned in the Bible. I believe they are spirits of specific categories of Nature with specific physical domains or territories. They are bi dimensional and can manifest in the physical realim while being citizens of their own spiritual realm. They are maintenance workers for their specific earthly domain, i.e. a river or forest. I don't know if they are eternal spirits. Their job is to nurture life and glorify God, however some have turned evil toward Man in their anger or jealousy. Some are neutral. Some are good. Fallen angels who like to warp and twist all that is good probably made hybrids from them as we know they did with the seed of Eve. Possible origin of Sasquatch.

I believe it boils down to who follows THE King Jesus and who does not. This Kingdom vs kingdom reality reveals the true intent of the Elemental spirits. A great book on Kingdom theology is "The Spine of Scripture" by Dominic Bnonn Tennant.
I like the discussion, but the types of demons don’t seem to be of use for us. These things have knowledge of the supernatural that can partially and fully incapacitate people. Being able to discern who/what is at work around us helps us walk in wisdom and power through any situation. That said, it isn't helpful to go any deeper than identifying their characteristics and modus operandi, or we risk opening up to oppression.

Purgatory is much older than the folklore of the Wild Hunt. It comes from pre-Christian Judaism. It was definitely not invented as a reaction to seeing ghosts in the middle ages 😅. People have reported seeing souls who appeared to them asking for prayers to assist them in Purgatory, but they knew the difference between that and ghostly haunts that float around the fields or whatever.
I'm not happy with all the "Medievals" bashing in this episode. You realize "Medieval" encompasses 1,000 years and the whole continent of Europe? It would be much more helpful to be more specific about sources.

why did you use Colossians 2:8 to talk about faeries and mythical creatures? that is the same word used in v20 talking about the elements of worship used in the Old Covenant system. it has nothing to do with any spiritual beings. same exact elements as 2 Peter 3:10,12, Gal 4:3,9, and Hebrews 5:12.

The Psalmist says "man did eat angels' food." Paul says there are BODIES celestial. Some of us knew angels had bodies when you BOYS were in pampers.
