I got mine in the mail a few days ago. Ive been through a couple battery packs and man, this is the best truck Arrma has EVER created. They corrected the V2 ESC throttle curve issue before the Kratons were even shipped out by updating the firmware on all the trucks before shipment. I changed my diff fluids to my preferences and found that none of my diffs needed shims in any way, and that locktite was used properly on proper screws. Arrma QC has really gone up a notch and this truck is tough as all hell. The ONLY thing I might upgrade in the future is the Chassis. Arrma's 7075 isn't the best and on a long thin plate like the chassis it can still bend. The electronics are much stronger, the truck is faster out of the box because the V2 ESC delivers more power to the motor, the new steering servo finally doesn't suck for once and comes with a standard 25-tooth horn. It really is an amazing truck and you really should pick one up if you can. The Arrma game has changed for sure!
of course im late to the party, but did you end up installing the "LSD" plates in any of the F/R differentials? afaik the cenfer already comes setup as LSD with them installed, im asking because i got a Big Rock 6S which comes with the same diffs setup, LSD center, and also came with a set of plates, i have not messed with it, wondering if its worth it, or how it changes the driving to add them to the front or rear, and/or going with thicker oil in the center as well.

I just got the Mojave 6s last week it came with that s665 servo and 150a v2 esc and a heat sink with no fan on the motor. Now I’m just trying what needs to be upgraded other then the scorched fenders lol
Wow .. its funny i just got this today and u roll out this video.. cant wait to charge up some packs and give it a rip .. Merry Christmas !! To you and your family

That's my understanding as well, the front/rear diffs were built as traditional open diffs with spacer shims instead of the LSD plates. So now if you want to run it LSD you have to go in and install the plates yourself. Probably makes more sense since people are more familiar with tuning open diffs. For people with the older EXBs you can get a kit with the thick shims to turn your LSDs into open diffs.
awesome vid as usual iv got mine on order and hopefully will arrive on the 10th of jan 2024 iv also seen and read that the centre diff is a slip diff and the front and rear are not ?
Imo spektrum should unlock the telemery and allow any battery to be Able to be read. I believe thats the next move spektrum needs to do. Because spektrum baterries are expensive and 💩 for nothing. Now they made it so that only a spektrum charger can charge them🤡
This is my thought as well but just just recently read somewhere that if you use a DX5c etc remote then you do get non spectrum battery voltages per cell because that information is captured by the esc even if you use non spectrum batteries. I don’t have a DX5 so I can’t confirm or deny this piece of info.
My ultimate xrt didn’t arrive at my shop yesterday. It was supposed to. Should arrive Monday. I haven’t bought it yet. What do you think is better? This or the xrt ultimate?
NICE REVIEW! I'm new to RC trucks (I fly RC planes) and was seriously looking at the Arrma Granite or the Team Associated MT10. However, I unexpectedly came across a very clean 6s Kraton EXB for a very good price. Is the 6s Kraton EXB to much for a newbie???
@@MarcMcKinley-f3m no it won't that also means you were not controlling the throttle and keeping it slow to learn. Granite mt10 or a big rock can suffer the same damages They may be a little bit more forgiving because they're more plastic but then again they are plastic and plastic breaks. What's your asking is kind of tough to answer I wish I could give you a proper answer but I think I've covered it
I'm going to buy an army that doesn't have aluminum differential housings, but has the newer version bumper at the front...This is probably such a mixed model
Ah I thought EXB center diff was what all the red metal good parts were like what was in the Fireteam not just calling it EXB cause of 3 metal plates and out drive cups. That's kinda semi deceptive????
The center tower to tower brace caused any 6s truck to bend the chassis on any hard enough frontal impact. The energy would be transferred at the rear gearbox and bend it backwards. That is why none of my truck run that POS. They did it wrong they only did it right on the 4s line with a rubber damper. People putting solid ones as an upgrade on theirs and after a few runs their chassis is broken at th rear wondering why it did that when they did a nose landing☠. Will this new updated one negate that? I dont think so. I believe we will see similar breakages that the 8s trucks suffer from. I just run the normal chassis braces on my v5 RTR and exb and since then i never had a problem with my chassis.i have had my exb since its release. So i know and learned a lot from it. The new wing mount still likely to snap like a twig. The way to go is definitely 3D printed with noodle fillament. Goal of the wing mount is purely a shock absorber like the front bumper
A bad head on collision would break the plastic rod end on the tower to tower brace before it would bend the chassis, especially with metal chassis braces. You will typically break the rear bulhead or bend the chassis if your chassis braces have failed (often a broken screw) and you keep sending it. Often happens at skate parks. The two part t2t brace helps triangulate the chassis and will be stronger, but could cause more damage in a really bad crash (likely why the center diff supports / motor mount are both aluminum now) . Arrma has been tactful with their designs, and unlike 3rd party upgrades they can play and change the designs of the plastic components, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong. All of the built 8S that get send upgrade those braces for max strength.
Believe me it bends that chassis at the slightest of nose crash on asphalt. I own a v5 notorious that i changed the braces to metal and my kraton exb. Both had the rear gearbox portion of the chassis bent backwards. When i bent them back the pack before@@TheFatAssCat
@@TheFatAssCat theres a pivot point who is Located in front of the rear gearbox just bellow the diff gear input. With the t2t It makes the weak point even weaker. You can search on youtube “crashing an rc car into concrete” someone decided to crash his talion into a wall for science and you can see how the rear of the chassis bends at 90 degres backwards. Its a terrible design to have made it a solid rod with no give. The v5 chassis and 7075 ones flex a TON.
I still follow duperbash original idea where to mount a t2t brace except I run a threaded rod through aluminum tubing , the worst that will happen is you would bend the tower which I don’t mind , if use a better tower than you could break the bulkheads , nothing is indestructible and you can’t expect to nose down on concrete without some type of breakages
I was sold on exb instead of brcc but I haven’t perfected these exb diffs , some things I just don’t understand and when I get them working perfectly they’re pretty much locking up and I snapped dog bones on the Mojave , I must admit new they’re best performing like a dirt bike or atv I’ve driven but a lot of work and expensive once they go , just can tune them like I can the standard diffs , I wish they just used the stronger ring and pinion and drive cups , my original exb kraton has straight cut typhon diffs with 100 s of runs throughout

I can't speak on the Team Corraly Kraton is a solid truck and you can tune it very easily. Outcast is just the trick truck version. Either way you just might need to pull the trigger and see for yourself. If you don't like what you bought you can sell and start over👍💯
I just got mine the tape was cut and a circular tape patch was on the box the new software is in it I checked. This is fun!!!! I have my video up on the first drive and wow this can jump its very impressive its my first Kraton and I am happy with it. It has a bigger turning radius than the big rock for some reason that is my only complaint for now I will get it bound to my dx5 check the end point settings.
@johnmiller4553 That's a very tough line to walk on GUY as they both have their strengths and weaknesses. If you were looking at buying the xrt ultimate, it honestly is a great RC at a fairly hefty price. But within that you could potentially have the vehicle for a lifetime with the Arma Kraton similar but the ownership cost could possibly far exceed A replacement cost. Both are very tough vehicles and not one of them is perfect. The Kraton is also a very heavy RC when fully outfitted with batteries because of all its metal. If you intend to just drive it normally and not crash and not do ridiculous jumps than with both, you'll be good

Once you fill those diffs 60 to 100 front, 200k center and 30 to 50 in the rear, they don’t drive like that, it almost then feels like it added power.
