Hi Chris, Consider a Decoder Buddy on this type of installation. It would make life a lot easier. With two sided tape you can attach it to the brass conductor on top of the electric motor. Hope this helps!
The 'challenge' is the fun for me... Decoder Buddies are great for those 21-pin decoders where I'm using 8 or more LED's that require separate function/control. This is a simple 2-function decoder set up.
