    You mounted the strap upside down. When you turn your wrist, the text and the tudor shield should be the right way :)

    Thanks for the video. I just bought my Tudor GMT on the leather. I think it’s a good combo of light weight but strong enough to stabilize the weight of the case. I also think the reddish brown goes very well with the bezel. I am interested in a rubber strap solely for water/sweat purposes to preserve my leather, so I’ll take a look at this brand during my search.

    I use the 3-M Cling Wrap it is the same type of cling they use on some watches . It has no adhesive. However sticks to sapphire and stainless .

    I’d love to see the rubber strap with a deployment clasp. The best of both worlds as the leather strap makes the watch case seem to tower above the wrist. From the wearer’s vantage point.

    I appreciate the time you took to make this informative video. I own a Black Bay GMT as well and typically prefer bracelets on my watches but options are good.

    Nice job, I’ve just bought a GMT on bracelet and am looking at some strap options, the pliers or tweezers can be expensive for the good makes but probably a sensible choice. Wow you’re good at putting the straps on without tape on the lugs 😮

    • @TheEnglishWatch
      @TheEnglishWatch  Год назад

      I have years of practice and show the scars on a few pieces where I probably should have used tape. The Tudor is easy though and the spring bars are pretty compliant. Omega…..OMG!

    While I shall defer to you when it comes to identifying casual versus formal as you have the British accent and are thus infinitely classier than I with my awful New York accent I believe, the leather is the dressier strap. I have just picked this exquisite watch today on the leather strap and I’m head over heels. The AD did not have it in stock on the bracelet so I ordered that separately. This is a great video, thanks for sharing!

      My pleasure. The accent is genuine, but don’t assume class comes as standard 😉. It’s a fantastic watch and I’ve worn the hell out of it recently on the bracelet. It’s great to have options and congrats on your acquisition.

    well that was definitely worth watching. I have a Black Bay 36 on the bracelet which I love, but i am VERY hesitant to try to change the bracelet myself. I will probably order the leather strap for it once winter approaches, but in the meantime i think I will buy some of that tape you are using. Very useful!

      I’ve only used the original Tudor bars on my GMT. I have a ton of cheapos, and you can tell the difference. There’s plenty of equivalent ones available or you can ask your AD to order some.....at a price.

    Well done mate and good luck with the channel. I have a navy leather strap from Watch Gecko which looks great on the GMT and a navy with red stripe Marine Nationale which is my favourite choice when not on the bracelet. It’s the bracelet that I return to the most though and wear 95% of the time.

    The leather is my favorite. I love it. Looks so elegant and sporty at the same time. The metal bracelet looks terrible in my opinion. Feels like something a new rich will wear. I know it sounds absurd, but that is the vibe I get form that. I will buy this watch with the leather strap, then maybe get an after market metal bracelet.

      Bought it from my local Tudor AD, Goldsmiths in UK. I think it was around £300, but had some vouchers so only paid £120. It is a great strap and suits the watch really well. I’m a sucker for OEM straps.

  • @markwolfson2023
    @markwolfson2023 3 года назад

    The pointed ends of the straps are too large, especially the rubber one. The manufacturers should offer different sizes/mix/match. With a 7 inch wrist with 50mm lugs, the correct size should be no greater than 115 (112 ideal), 75-80, as an example, 115/75. No one but Michael Knapp does this (for leather). I am finding all my diver rubber strap pointed ends are too long. And ideally, the buckle end should be placed at the middle of the underside of the wrist. With the proper sizing, one should not need a 2nd keeper.
