    but how do i get gigs without an agent. it seems like i need an agent to tune in or come to my gigs, but i cant get those spots without one.

    Erica,
    Do you ever get/look at submissions from those without an agent? I find it hard to submit for jobs and/or get auditions without one, because I'm missing that connection. But in order to invite an agent to watch you at such-and-such time on a tv show or send them a demo reel, you need material to make it up of first and you can't do that without having an AGENT to get you those jobs. Such a catch 22...

      +Erin J McFarland I agree with you as I have been saying the same for years. With many professions, employers are looking for those candidates with experience in the field. However, how will a person gain such experience if everyone wants you to already have it? I have to sometimes chuckle at this fact to keep from feeling down about missing out on yet another opportunity :-/ lol

    @arvold,Of course whomever is representing you will only get paid until you do, but what is the reasonable percentage rate of earnings an agent should get from an aspiring actor/actress who has experience but not all that much work in front of a camera?
