Very useful information. I was under the impression that larger the number the stiffer the shaft. This video just saved me a lot of time and most likely confusion trying to dial in the correct arrows for my bows.
Great video! Can I suggest a future video talking about travelling on airplanes abroad with your archery kit? Once this crazy year is over I want to get away to Germany or Switzerland to shoot some 3D courses. I have a trad takedown that would fit in the hold luggage along with arrows but how did you find it went checking in bags and flying with you gear on your trips? Thanks!
Thanks that was useful, ive been into archery for many years but as i always made my own arrows and bows l never learned all the modern terms. Now I want to get into compound shooting
The bow shop initially sold me 400's. My arrow length is 38" and my draw weight is 72lbs. Shouldn't I be shooting 340-350's Is it a big deal to shoot 400's? They seem to shoot fine but I want to buy more.
If you’re shooting for fun, doesn’t matter much. If you’re looking to hunt with your bow, I strongly recommend you look into the Ashby Bowhunting foundation. Heavy arrows, high FOC, adult broad heads.
I'm using 500's with 100 grains 30" and 3" rubber veins with 26# and 35# MYBO limbs and my arrows lands the same at 25 meters. learning instinctive barebow 3 under, But not string walking, I prefer to just let go when the Gap door is open. I thought the change in poundage would have an effect, But scratching my head I am landing the same with both sets of limbs.
Hahaha yeah bro I'm using these compound arrows on my 35lbs and fuck there on bro everything I'm pointing at I'm getting it ryt....this falah at the archery shop sed they not wat I think they are??whatever that means

Thanks for this. Can you please do a follow up on the effect of pile / point weight on arrow spine and how it has an effect on dynamic spine?
That vide has already been filmed 😇
Look out for it n the coming weeks
Also wooden arrows and aluminium arrows are measured differently
That’s a whole other video 😅
@@MerlinArchery, yes please!
Great vid and series. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video Jim!
Glad you enjoyed it
Next step; deeper dive :)
Exactly what the spine number means and dynamic spine with points and pins/collars.
:D
🤯
Mr Kent has been busy with content of late. 🤘😎
My arrows are 350 should I go higher or lower my draw length is 30 inches and my pounds is 65
For the algorithm!
also great video as always 😊
I found out for my compound bows 500 spine carbon and 50lbs works great!
can I use 500 and 600 spine on a 30lb recurve bow

Didn't really help me at all. Want to know what the numbers mean and how to measure them.
