My favorite part of this movie is that despite him falling for her, and even after seeing she's interested in someone else, Quasimodo not only helps her to protect her lover despite his pain but encourages them to be together in the end. He really is the sweetest boy. 🥺
The whole story is about "who is the monster and who is the man" between Quasimodo and Frollo so this is another parallel between them on how they both deal with the woman they want not being romantically interested in them.

I saw this in the theatre back in 1996. I was nine years old at the time. It was such a dark but beautiful movie. It remains one of my all time favourite movies and introduced me to its author Victor Hugo. I highly recommend everyone read as many as his novels as you can!

@@darkbloom6276 yeah but you have to mess with some post processing effects or else it will look stretched and full of ugly artifacts I'd recommend ESRGAN or Topaz instead. I personally prefer ESRGAN because it has more options to fiddle with but I haven't touched Topaz in a while, maybe it's better now
