like i didnt like salnotes zero 2
have checked with my friends IEM
instead i found CCA Lyra to be good when compared with Salnotes Zero 2
so as salnotes zero i mean 1st model
is it okay to be considered in 2024 as of now?
Why not go for the KZ Castor or Fiio JD1?
I prefer those anyday.
Yeah as you have said to go with KZ Castor i have purchased it and been using it and as you always say that IEMs are subjective to each other's usage
i found KZ castor to be a downgrade when compared to my CCA Lyra which i have been using for past 1 year
In order to hear the sound must be kept around like 60-70% of volume where as my Lyra i used to keep it in 9 percent and it would blast my ears
I use poweramp full version as well as AIMP for listening offline songs in both FLAC format as well as DSD
So yeah i have even checkd with lots of equalizers and found the Castor to be not performing well for my usage
I thought initially the product was not good so had to return it and even ordered a replacement of Castor again
and same happened so then its conculded that Castor sounds pretty low
The similar product was there in CCA named Polaris which was very good in terms of detail and sound retrival as well as slightly recessed bass and good tuning switches when compared to Castor
I found CCA Polaris to be performing well than Castor and i even found this slight irritating hiss kinda sound in castor when you listen to some heavy metal songs which is kinda
fatiguing to me personally
So even i checked to go with Fiio JD1 but my badluck
no matter how many times i try to wait for it to restock it keeps on pushing away
the only reason i wanted to purchase from headphone zone is because i have store credits in their site
yeah so i have waited for even Truthear Gate as well as KZ Merga
but yeah they both were out of stock
So had to go with Salnotes Zero as i didnt wanted to go with Salnotes zero 2 as i found it as downgrade when compared with zero 1 (older version)
to be honest the detailing and imaging processing in salnotes zero 1 is pretty good but the soundstage is slightly wider in zero 2
so yeah on the day i have written the comment to this video i wanted to go on purchasing it and ordered it and got it delivered next day itself
The higs are fucking good with no sibilance which are not fatiguing as you have mentioned
The instruments are damn good
The vocals are self centric which had a very good seperation which i found very pleasant which are vocal heavy
there is slight lack of warmth in vocals as you said, even i have noticed it in multiple languages
coming to Bass using this salnotes zero i must say that i was suprised to have this good punchy thickend bass
its not irritating
the bass response was good with some nice sounstage and image detailing
I have paired salnotes zero with Kiwiears allergo as well as Moondrop Dawn pro DACs and man i must say i was so happy choosing this
like this was not something like some fun engaging iEM Infact it is what i needed where i am more into vocal centric music
