I own many iems in the budget range, this blows everything out of the water. Even the cable feels good. For this one the hype is real.
Quick. What's the most comfortable iem you own?
@@jcap8391 ie300 and Zalnotes zero are tied for me. The zalnotes has an offset cable that really works well for my ears.
I find the Chu pretty good too.
@@PrimeAudioReviews for me, the Zero is better than Chu
My first choice was the chu too but then I checked in the reviews and found salnotes zero is a bit on the warmer side which suits my taste hence that's what I'm going for.
I'm not a fan of IEM's but having seen & read the reviews of the Salnotes Zero I pulled the trigger on a pair & I'm so glad I did. Cheers.... 👍
I've been cycling through the Zero, Chu and the CCA CRA...it blows me away that even with all three I am still well under the cost of my old gaming headset. Audio technology really has come a long way and is accessble in any budget. First video of yours I've watched...quality comparison.
Fuck, I've only just got my friends to get the chu cause I found it phenomenal
lemme know one thing what's the size of the ear tips which come with the buds? is that M size Or S?
Damn nicee. from the 3 buds which one do you like the most?
@@kafismokie Comes with a set of 3 pairs, S, M, L
@@jhoncelast4818 Love them all really, for music I switch between the Chu(jazz, bossa nova, guitar focused instrimentals) and CRA ( EDM, more high energy stuff) and I use the 7hz Zeros for Gaming.
Listening to this video now with my 7hz salnotes zero!
I'd say it's also pretty nice.
I agreed with everything you just said !! I use iems in my recording studio and engineering live acts. These have become my budget “all rounders “ for opening bands and local acts. Everyone who has used these loves them.
I’d like to give a little info on the 03s; the nozzle isn’t just shorter, it’s smaller in diameter. I see many people online modding these with O rings and then using the Comply 500 series tips, which fit all the Moondrop, 7HZ etc. I spoke with Scott at Comply, and here is his answer. The 500 series will go on the tips but you can rotate them if you hold the tip and rotate the iem; this is why so many fit issues. Any tips that size will stay put in your ears but the iem can rotate on the nozzle, in other words move.
The proper tips are the Comply Series 200 isolating foam tips, or anything with that smaller bore hole. The 200 gives a great seal, fits perfectly, and you cannot rotate that iem at all. So there are two places for a great seal, the tip within your ear and the iem on the nozzle. Once this happens they Do Not move, the bass is great and everyone loves it. If you hold the Zero and the 03 nozzle side by side it’s evident.
One thing that might be a great help; on Comply.com they have a list of every iem and they update weekly. It will tell you the exact one to buy for whatever iem you have. It’s great.
So if you take the stock tips off the 03s, you need to get smaller bore tips than the Zero, Chu etc. I use the 500 series on all of those. Great reviews, thanks, Sonny T
Thanks for the great advice! Their website still recommends the 500 series. Ive ordered the 200, thanks again for the tip! Much appreciated
I just got it yesterday, it's crazy how good the tuning is. Soundstage is so impressive I can define every instrument and it's so wide for an iem. For me it's a better successor for the blon and CCA CRA Best iem for the money at the moment.
Crinacle strikes again
Is it better than blon blo3?
I hav cca cra
@@sarleeee I'm gonna order this, I'll compare it with my blon-bl03
You think its better than blon bl3? Can you kindly confirm. Thanks brother 🤘
Got the Salnotes Zero (same color as yours) last month along with the Tanchjim Zero. Excellent IEM for what I paid for. Your impressions are accurate to what I experienced, David. Would take this over some budget sets that I own like the BL-03, Tanya, Quarks, Chu, ZEX, and NRA. Been enjoying it a lot.
Os 7hz zero better than Tanya?
Mine has arrived and I've been using Zero for nearly 3 days straight and I must say I'm impressed by the sound quality. The sound is just really balanced and never feels lacking in any area for me. The bass is also enough in quantity while being punchy and fast when it's asked for whether it's for EDM or Metalcore. The mid while not being ultra-clear (obviously), it sounds natural and there's this lift in upper-mid region imo, so the thing like female vocal will sound more forward although it's not that intimate enough for me. The treble is airy enough and quite detail, you can occasionally hear that cymbals or sparkle, and more importantly it never feels harsh in my ears.
I don't understand about some reviews that say the bass quantity is lacking.. like, how Blon BL03's will be then for my ears? Lol. Overall, Zero imo has that kind of balance sound..maybe a bit warm to my ears. Really a good sounding stuff that's suitable for all genres.
A great conclusion is you can just bring these IEMs wherever you go and you won't worry about anything.
How do they compare with your Blons?
Is it better upgrade from blon bl03?
@@ajsalvlk I personally wouldn't say it's straight-up upgrade though. BL03 sounds fuller and have thicker bass and mid but also is slower than Salnotes Zero. If you have a lot of slow, ballad, EDM or acoustic songs I would say BL03 suits you better - or if you just want warmer sound overall. I think Salnotes Zero will be more suitable for a lot of genres.
Thanks for the information I've just ordered one of these
Appreciate the comparison with the good ol' 03, as they're still my daily drivers to this day. Seems like they'd be complimentary with the Zero rather than a direct competitor since they're tuned quite differently, and I'd imagine the pair would make for a pretty great combo of a budget collection.
Hi, the stage is very deep actually. I listen to good acoustic jazz and placement of instruments in the space is almost holographic, just insane. Off course not listening from phone jack but a good usb dac on the go or at home from Project S2digital. Remarkable 20$ gem.
I got em yesterday... They have ruined me for other IEMs 😂 this tuning is PERFECT for me.
What kind of music do you enjoy?
I just got mine. Best $20 and one day shipping. Wide soundstage tuned to my taste. Going back online to buy a 2nd pair/colorway. My only issue is I prefer a less floppy/stiffer part of the cable that tucks behind the ear and maybe a longer inner ear stem.
Honestly I feel the Moondrop Chu has the best tuning in the $20 price range. The only upside for Salnotes zero is the detachable cable. Otherwise sound quality the Chu is a beast.
I'm sold! I will be buying this one right now! Thanks for the review! amazing! :)
I ended up buying 3 copies of these Zero :)) nice review
I just ordered mine. Took me a while to decide between Chu and 7Hz. I still don't have a good reason as to why I chose one over the other. I guess I like the detachable cable, because I believe that this prevents damage if your cable gets snagged on something
I prefer this over CHU.
I actually like the cables in a weird way because they don’t tangle like Truthear twisted cables. I don’t like the cables because they don’t have a square end, and don’t fit Truthears. I usually just buy 8 core or 16 core true braided cables because they’re tangle resistant.
The fit is simply amazing😮
Its tight but not annoying. You can roll over it lying down and theres no problem
Plus it looks futuristic.
Sound wise, it doesnt suck.
Comfortable to listen to for hours and hours.
Im so done with audiophile or at least chifi audiophile bs.
Get this and be happy.
No need for beer to make it sound good
Edit: wtf is this graph thing😂
Now youre describing audio with visuals nowadays.
I know its always been a thing on websites back then
Really nice review !

Hope u review the Tangzu Planar iem aswell😉
I just received the Tangzu today. 😃
@@PrimeAudioReviews Awesomess, finally comparison with S12.😎 Thanks
The 7Hz Salnotes Zero (Mecha edition in my case) are my first ever venture into the IEM arena. OMG are these a mixed bag of headphones (or earphones? IDK precisely, someone help me.) I've ever had. Got them in '23 and the audio quality is as amazing as you get your audio on the source. By that, what I mean is that these are the headphones that leave most of the mid-budget TWC eating dust and mud. If you are an Apple Music ahem...UNPARLIAMENTARY B-WORD then woof woof, you'll love what Lossless and Lossless Hi-res sounds like and can probably blow your mind away. If you're a Spotify ahem...ahem... (like me), you'll still notice the difference; the way treble and bass feel like giving your ears a kiss is what defines that feeling.
The only thing that's an almost bummer is the cable. It's good, it's stupid, it's light and it's scary transparent and not as reassuring as a braided, break-free cord can be.
And ooh, listen to them ASMR NSFW audios on these because mama, woof woof and meow meow.
Yeah these are really great sounding. Amazing at $20
I just ordered this because I wanted a good but cheap pair of IEM s for travel and listening. (I love hearing the crisp details so 🙊)
You won't regret it! 🎧
@@PrimeAudioReviews update on the situation
Due to the ongoing 11:11 sale I got it for $13 which is still a considerable (but managable) sum when converted to the currency of my country
(Also theres a 12% tax for spending money outside the country and further taxes at customs sometimes so I hope the price won’t get out of hand)
Also managed to snag the Fiio BTR5 2021 edition using all of my budget for $85 to which the same problems of taxes apply (also got a balanced 2.5 mm cable)
So that will be my daily driver setup.
I also have some M40x ‘s that i’ve been using for years now (which was the first thing I bought audio wise after getting into this hobby) and I was constantly blow away by how much more detail I could hear in the songs i’ve listened to my whole life.
So this was a much needed upgrade and sidegrade (needed some good IEMs since I travel a lot now and can’t bring my m40s everywhere)
Really appreciate your professional and straight to the point reviews made my decision making a hell if a lot easier.
Will be updating this comment once again once I get all the gear and test it
Might be march or April by then though 🙊
@@dunumanz1679Do you still use them?

It's a legend in this segment
Frequency response is very similar to the SkullCandy Ink'd 2.0 units which are under $20. I use them, amazing units for a cheapo headphone.
Can you link the FR graph of the Skullcandy?

Point Noted 👍looking for them to save money 💸
I have these, they are good but would just have liked a wee bit more bass, then they would have been perfect at this price point!
hopefully, tomorrow I'll be using my Zero...too excited!!!
Sir how is the raw performance till date and are they sturdy?
I bought one mainly for ASMR and that's actually a bad idea since the bass was so little. you can't hear the thump sound and vibration.
My ears are small, I think. When I wear this iem, the concha part of my ear gets really hurt after 1 hour. Will try longer stem eartips, maybe that'll solve the problem.
The sound is really good tho. Just sucked about the fit 😥 Kinda afraid to upgrade to timeless because of the fit.
Try some spinfits cp100 or cp145
Probably because of its stock cable earhook, try to put another 2 pin cable
oh right, i didn't think about that one, I'll go try it 😊 Thanks.
Great review. I still can't believe these are made under 20 dollars. Just doesn't seem possible.
You are right it can't even compete with my Arya but yeah very nice sound iem in this price those who said me it's better than arya definitely never heard Arya for a longer time.
You need to do a colab with DankPods. I think that would be an amazing video
super budget IEM.. which I own and enjoy when I need a pair that I dont care if it gets broken or stolen. I take issue with your comment about "they will work just okay out of a phone" I havent watched any of your other reviews, but that is a very bold statement. When literally tons of IEMS and full size headphones sound fantastic just from a dongle off a phone. The Salnotes Zero are not hard to drive at all, so what on earth.. This is why so many people are so confused in this hobby.. HUGE miss for me..
I said they sound okay straight from a phone or dongle but they can actually scale a little with better sources. Wtf is confusing about that? I had nothing but positive things to say about an obviously good budget iem. I guess you were just looking for anything to get triggered by and you thought that would suffice.
Lots of reviews on Amazon say they break for no reason after a month
Lots? I see about 1% of reviews say that, which is about the normal rate in ny experience. Humidity can mess up the filters on many iems which can cause this, but is corrected with those desiccant packets. Also freak driver failures happen in all headphones, from 1k to 20$ it sucks but just how it is sometimes.
Sounds like the VK4 of 2022.
I bought these IEMs, and I really like them, now wanting to buy IEMs similar in sound to these but in a budget of 100/150 what would you recommend?
I'm very new to the IEM world, but what eartips that come with the Salnotes do you guys recommend?
Any tips that give you a good seal but still comfortable.
Just got this zero few weeks ago,for me listening song from billie eilish like happier than ever..adele..its pleasure to my ear, vokal the best for its price

Weird question, are you dankpods? You sound a lot alike
I liked my kzn pro, like a lot, but I lost it when I tried these
KZ ZS10Pro are way too fatiguing for me even turned down, i bought them in a warehouse deal, i ordered a pair of these and the quarks with my refund👍
Zero are much better earbuds. Thanks dude👍
How do these hold up against the letshuoer s12 in terms of soundstage and micro details / resolution ? I already have that based off your excellent recommendation..wanted to add a budget iem to my collection so that I don't have to baby them like i do for my s12 😅
S12 has much stronger resolution and a wider stage but the Zero is definitely worth having as an beater.
@@PrimeAudioReviews What about final e3000 vs Salnotes Zero ? Looking at the final also as a beater alternative to s12
Thank you for your review. I already own 7Hz Salnotes Zero and it's surprisingly good for 20 bucks IEM. I'm looking to upgrade the eartips, do you have any suggestion best eartips for 7Hz Salnotes Zero?
Something like the Spiral Dots or Final Type E.
These are so good I bought all colors lol
Damn you sold it!
It's hard to not be impressed at that price!
My question is does the Dunu Titan S Justify it's price over this Zero model? They seem similar?
If my Titan S ever arrives, I'll be able to answer that. 😄
In term of technicality, yes! Dunu titan s is much better than zero. About tuning it's so so
These or the crinacle's zero?
both are crinacle tuned. crinacle didn't put his name on these due to collab fatigue!
Is there any difference between plugging straight into the laptop 3.5 jack and through an external dac/amp with this IEM?
Hi there, thank you for this review and for comparing the salnotes to the BLON BL03s
i will be buying the salnotes based on your review; i own the BLO3s and hate the cable…can you tell me the name of the cable you are using for the BLONs please.
THANK YOU
You can use any 0.75mm cable with the bl03. Check some of the ones from Tripowin, NICEHCK and Yinyoo.
My only doubt is that can these earphones be used with any brand's 2 pin cable? or should be used something particular

SADLY, I have to give up on this iem as my ears (cartilage part) really hurt a lot when using this for long periods of time unlike my previous one where I can use them for a whole day. I bought this for Valorant and it has a GREAT imaging. Maybe it's the shape that causes pain to my ears.
Very nice review! I'm interested to try these out. I currently own the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds, but have been considering going to IEM's for better sound quality with my music. Would you say these 20 dollar IEM's sound better than 200 dollar true wireless earbuds or should I consider spending a bit more than 20 dollars for a better sound?
I'd say you should try a couple of cheap IEMs to get an idea of what sound signature you like before you start spending more.
@@PrimeAudioReviews Alright! Thanks for the reply! 20 dollars really isn't a bad price to start.

Kz zex vs salnote 7hz which one is better
I am using blon bl03, planing to buy kz dq6 or cca cra or lyra, just saw this iem, is it better than above 3?
I'm a year late,, is this still the best IEM's in this budget?
It's still up there as one of the best ultra-budget IEMs - assuming you like that kind of tuning.
I'm planning to buy this to replace the headphones that I use on my PC. Most of the time, I play PC games and I also listen to music. I'm not gonna do any heavy audio activities. I have several questions since this is the first IEM that I'll be buying and I hope that you can help me out.
1. Can I/Should I just plug it in my motherboard then use my computer normally or do I have to buy other audio stuff to get the most out of it? I'm asking this because I have seen videos talking about DAC, amp, audio interface, etc. but I don't really know what they do and if they are going to benefit me as a casual user.
2. Do I need to download a software or change any settings in my PC that would "enhance" the quality of this IEM.
3. I haven't seen any reviews about the durability of this product. I have owned many earphones before and they all used to work fine until only one side is functioning. I'm not sure if this is also a common issue in IEM. If this IEM runs into this problem, can I simply buy a replacement cable to fix this issue?
4. If I'm gonna use a cable extender to connect it to my PC, will there be some losses in terms of audio quality?
Thank you very much for your time and attention. Any suggestions and external links regarding my questions are very much appreciated.
Just plug it in and it will be fine. You don't need any software. The cable extension won't deteriorate the sound. If it stops working later on you can buy a new cable or just buy a new iem - they cost around the same.
@@PrimeAudioReviews thank you for your response. It is very helpful.
Thank you as always David. How do they compare with the CRA?
CRA is more detailed but a lot brighter. That's why I didn't add it in the comparisons. Zero has a more natural tone, closer to Chu.
