When I need reasoning power, I tend to get better results with claude than with chatgpt
There is a huge difference in quality between the 4th compared to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd responses when working with ChatGPT. The quality is so much better on the 4th response (3rd regeneration) it's like talking to a much smarter AI. What I have noticed:
• First Response: A relatively good response and certainly better than version 3.5
• First Regeneration: A more structured and well presented version of the first response
• Second Regeneration: A creative (or eroneous) response, always with some twist
• Third Regeneration: A super smart well considered response that is extremely on-point and certainly much better than any other AI response from any other system. I would even say that this regeneration is about 3 times more intellegent than the first response
is this always the case? I tried it and it may be that you are on to something although I had the feeling all regenerations after the 1st were better, maybe you get more compute/resources allocated, if you seem to be "unhappy" with your first response?
@@CosmicCells Absolutely, I have been working heavily with ChatGPT since the start of last year and it's certainly been a repeating behaviour. It's important to really understand that the LLM does not keep any of your chat history whatsoever, that the LLM processes all that is sent to its context window and is completely transactional in that moment. I find that when I make a correction in a subsequent prompt compared to when i regenerate it brings too much future focus to my correction. If instead however I simply regenerate then it is very capable of correcting it itself, especially on the 4th response (3rd Regen). Also the 24th, 39th, 61st and 101st Regenerations can be quite good lol

Claude writes better than ChatGPT but it is censored to the point that I can't wait for Gemini so I can drop Claude. I am not paying $20 per month to be lectured by an LLM or to have my benign requests rejected. Claude is really good but the censorship makes it garbage. They will go down in flames because of it when Gemini comes out.
For my use free Claude works well, and tends to give me somewhat better reasoning power than chatgpt4, again for my use cases

Anthropic still has a way to go but I feel OpenAI will leave everyone in the dust In a few more months and the rest will probably do damage control and offer to team up OpenAI “if you can’t beat them join them!”
No, last time I used Claude it had lost the plot in being overly politically correct. Spent more time trying to convince it to work with me, than on the actual problem.
