I have always liked the gaming phones because the hardware is always maxed out, they look cool, have great speakers etc. Its just too bad the cameras are typically average at best. Is this device even 5g compatible in north America?

@@gdyo3367 It's pretty stock Android. I use it for gaming but *gasp* also as an actual phone. You don't hear many reviewers report on that but yes, this can be used as a phone. I used the Red Magic 3S for my work phone for 3 years and upgraded to this phone. It supports VOIP (I am on Tmobile). The 5G is not as fast as my wife's Samsung S22 Ultra (also Tmo) but that's because the RM7 is not licensed to use the same 5G bands as the Samsung (thus largely why the RM7 phone is cheaper). I use the phone daily for phone calls, texting, and it's just fine. I have wifi access throughout the day since I work in an office. I have not found the phone to be buggy and really the only issue I've had was with 3rd party software which I suspect is the result of the software rather than the phone. I do have a 3rd party launcher (Action Launcher?). I did have to google on how to set this as my default launcher. My one and only complaint is the Always On Display (AOD). It isn't always on. It turns off after 30 minutes (2, 5, 15, 30 minutes are the options). My wife's phone's AOD is actually _always on_ and makes a nice bed side clock. My phone does not. I have to pick it up and set it back down for it to wake up. I've googled this and haven't found a way to get around this so for me the AOD is pointless. There are 3rd party AOD's but due to Android security, they too have issues. But, I'm getting off topic a little here. Bottom line, yes you can use this phone as a daily driver. In 3 years from now, I see myself getting whatever Red Magic phone is available.

Honestly 12gb runs just as well as the 18gb, I chose the 18gb tho because it comes with 512gb internal storage, and I don't plan to upgrade anytime soon, so more space is welcome!

Idk to be honest, most reviews I've seen of this "beast of a phone" have been kinda.. crappy. There's been tons of complaint after complaint and it's making me have some second thoughts about saving up for it. Unless they somehow fixed it in a couple of weeks. And plus, is it ok for daily use? I know it's a gaming phone and yeah, I'll use it for games a lot but I still have to get through my education and I'll probably use it for projects and homework too, about 30-40% max and the load will probably grow too.

Shipping info from Red Magic Official website. I recommend checking Amazon or the Red Magic Official website for product reviews from actual VERIFIED users. Amazon is 4/5 stars overall and on Red Magic Official website, it's 4-4.5/5 stars. Since the 7s pro was only recently released, I would check the 7 pro reviews as well since the two are similar. There are some bad reviews as well, but they are either not about the phone or the user doesn't even explain the reasoning behind the bad review. There are also some good tech blog post reviews which average out to 4/5 stars from reviewers that have used and tested the phone and they give some good pros and cons which you can check to decide whether you are willing to put up with the cons or not. Also to clear things up, I've talked to the support team as well since I had to check compatibility of the phone with my carrier and also brought up the software update issue. What I was told and Red Magic also clarified that for the 7 series, users will receive an update every two months for the first 6 months and then an update every 3 months after that for 1.5-2 years with one big OS update. I'm currently waiting for the Asus Rog 6 Pro because I would rather pay a bit more and avoid buying from a Chinese company if I can. And lastly, for your case since you are still a student and probably want something that will last you a long time. I would honestly recommend getting an Iphone 13 Pro Max or save up for the new 14 to release. Based off of benchmark tests, while the red magic 7s pro was the most consistent, the iphone 13 pro max didn't drop off too much for sustained performance compared to samsung s22 ultra. Because of that test, I think the iphone 13 pro max is the perfect balance for your gaming needs while being a great daily driver phone. Long battery life, great camera, and Apple offers 6-7 years of software updates for their models from release date. The only game I really play is Princess connect other than that I don't really play any games on my phone but I still feel like getting phone like this because of its speed battery charging time processor among other things it has.
This phone is for gaming mostly but if you are considering for a fast speed phone and you play that princess connect game, then One Plus is great as well. Your choice, just giving my opinion.
I know this phone is fairly new but wanted to see if anyone could help with a question i have, The 7s does not have a sd slot to expand the storage which is holding me back from buying the phone but i found out that there are usb flash drive's for usb c phones, would that work for the red dragon 7s pro?
Trust me, in a hardcore gamer and music listener. Currently have the fold 4 512gb, and I have no need for SD slot. If anything, transfer your old files to a computer and keep the party going

And it has a headphone jack if you want to plug in headphones. For performance reasons the fan switches on to keep things cool so whatever game you're playing doesn't throttle. With that said i do believe you can adjust which mode you want the fan to be (low or high etc).
Mine is on the way. I hope it's actually good. Was about to just get a samsung or sony. Get a nice aluminum case, i think it would absorb some heat at least. thermal past hehe. IDK. i make things up don't even know if that would work.

The last 2 updates I had to I had to install manually - I went to the nubia website and saw there was an update to download. It's wasn't hard to apply and Nubia provides directions on how to do so. Just annoying that if I hadn't have checked, I wouldn't have known. The OS is pretty close to stock Android which I really like. I'm ordering my RM7S Pro today based on my experience with the RM3s. Nothing wrong with my RM3s, it's still plenty fast enough for PUBG Mobile and Rocket League Side Swipe. Only replacing as it's 3 years old and that's about how long I keep my phones.

Does that case provide good protection for the phone? Mainly worried about that back cutout on the case. I kinda wish I could see what the mercury one looks like with the transparent case too, but all the reviews I've seen are with the supernova.
@@ice_kube96 I did not actually get the Pro, I got the Standard 7. I could not justify the added expense of the higher sensitivity. I couldn't be happier with my selection. The phone is blazingly quick. To answer your question about the case, the Mercury is the one I wanted too, but again, I couldn't justify the added expense. The case that comes with it is smoked (not clear but not completely black). It's just a bumper case which is perfect for staying out of the way of the shoulder buttons. It can handle casual drops but if it falls face down (glass down), the case will not be enough to keep the glass from shattering. Ask me how I know (looking at my RM3s).

Yes, usb c pend drives should work , also you can connect a normal USB via USB C connector
