I couldn't stand bullies growing up and I still get pissed off when I'm watching a movie about a kid being bullied. I used to beat up bullies, ( back in the day you could fight as long as you don't fight on campus 😁) every kid who I protected became my friend or they just stayed close to me so the bully wouldn't bother them. I bumped into a girl who is now a woman, she said Hi and called me by name, I guess my face said (who are you?) She said you don't remember me? you beat this girl up that was bullying me in junior high school and I remembered her when she said that, she asked me if she could give me a hug. She told me for years she wanted to thank me but as a kid she felt like she would be trying to ass kiss, I fell out laughing and gave her a hug, she said "Thank You, you changed my life that day and as I followed you around for two years and watched you kick ass, I learned to stand up for myself" I was like Wow for real, your welcome. I had an Entourage when I was in school but my Entourage was all the misfits and the only White girl in Compton became my friend after I did some butt kicking for her too. Man I wish I was back in school now bullies would be scared to bully someone in front of me. Yes I would definitely be kicking some ass.😁😁😁

Holy shit. This brought back memories... my middle school showed this song on the announcements as part of Hero Week (an anti bullying effort). Most people found it silly after several days but it made me cry. Because I was friends with these people. Still am. And I lived the song. This came out of left field but I'm so glad you saw it.

I used to listen to this song so much as a teenager and found it again a few months ago- still an amazing song with a great message.

This song makes me cry because from 4th grade to halfway through my freshman year of high school, I was bullied and picked on. Any new kid came to the school? Was instantly taught to hate me all because I showed up in pigtails on my first day of school... My bullies never really apologized, no one stuck up for me (not even the friend I had made a few months after everything started), which the bullying was not only allowed but kept up by my 4th grade teacher and it got worse in junior high when they started spreading nasty rumors about me. Honestly, the only reason it stopped was because I moved (won't get into why)... But where I live now... I was honestly overwhelmed at how kind they were and I'm proud to say that though the insecurity they made me feel back then is still there, I'm slowly starting to break out of it. Bullying is one of the reasons I started ASMR this past year (comfort asmrs, that kind of thing) and so far, I haven't had a hate comment XD... But for real, this was a good song to react to

I know what it's like to be ten years old and think only death would make the pain go away. Due to an incident that wasn't even about me all my peers turned against me. Kids I had known/ been friends with since kindergarten suddenly found any excuse to mock me, harrass me or flat out ignore me. I was bright social butterfly as a child that never shut up but a year later when I started middle school (one across town where no one knew me) I was soul crushingly reserved, guarded, and extremely quiet. I even went by my middle name to distance myself farther from what had happened to me. And the cruelest bit of all? When I went to high school I attended the local one near my home with a vast majority of the kids I attended elementary school with. They all remembered me but not their bullying of me. I don't know what was worse, the fact I never got an apology or the knowledge that the pain they caused me (the depression, social anxiety, the suicidal thoughts and actions they drove me to) were of so little consequences to them that they forgot all about it. But I made it through, sort of like the Kelly Clarkson song you reacted to a while back that goes, "Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt/ Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me" so yeah that one and this one were always welcome on my angst playlist back in the day. A recommendation for you from that same playlist is "This Song Saved My Life" by Simple Plan. It really captures the gratitude you feel for that perfect song that gets you and reminds you you're not alone.

Been there. I used to cut badly, and it’s DAMN hard to stop. But it’s not impossible. There are better ways to cope. I’ve cut, used drugs, drank, and attempted suicide more than once. For some reason, I’m still here. There IS a better way, and the situations are temporary. Life is amazing now! Excellent song, excellent reaction. Can you please react to Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold?

Thank you for this! I've struggled with insecurities and low self esteem for years but I'm getting better at having a higher self esteem and self confidence. This song helped me in high school and college. I also struggle with mental disabilities. When I was 4-6 I was diagnosed with adhd, bipolar disorder, and asperger's syndrome which is a higher functioning form of autism. That affected me socially then and now still. It's better now but I still have problems in socializing. And this song was always a breath of fresh air to me. So thank you for doing this Billy!

Being Bullied made me who I am. I don't think I would be as strong as I am. I was bullied at school and abused at home. Now that I'm an adult, it has given me the strength to survive my adult life. If I hadn't toughened up, I am SURE I would be dead. I'm not encouraging bullying. But I think EVERYONE is bullied. Especially those that do the bullying!!!

I came across this video while reminiscing about old songs, and I really dig what you're doing on YT. Like, props for keeping this series going. I'd recommend reacting/listening to "Runaway Love" by Ludacris if you're looking for another deep and kinda dark song to look at.

I've also been told, by a family member who is a cutter, that the act of cutting doesn't physically hurt and actually feels good, emotionally. They said it's their volcano erupting, to relief their inner pain.

I honestly hate the idea of "You're perfect just the way you are" because it's not true. No one is perfect. But that's okay! The idea is that you don't have to be perfect. We're all flawed. But you can be better and it's okay to want to be better, to make better choices and even to need help to understand what's wrong. That's all okay. But staying stuck in darkness and depression because "you're perfect the way you" sends the wrong message.
