    The Bowery King and the High Table were in a sustained cold war for a long while. It wasn't until Santino claimed a seat at the table when the status quo changed. If Santino didn't have John go kill his sister; then the cold war would have kept on going. Santino was too power hungry and would had caused a war with the Bowery King if John didn't kill him. The war would had probably caused the High Table to eventually get involved too.
    So deep down; John was able to save a lot of headaches by taking out Santino.

      There has always been a potential conflict between the Bowery King and the High Table. He's a rising power. It appears he was able to build his organization from scratch. Sooner or later his power will grow enough to be on par with one of the families of the High Table, even John Wick pointed it out in the second movie that it would benefit him because Santino would eventually wage war against him. The mere fact that the High Table accepted a member who double crossed his working partner alone would be a bad precedent, but yet there is no way to punish members of the high table for such action. In the end, the rules of the High Table are just a treaty. And treaties are meaningless without the power to enforce them equally to all sides.

      To further that Idea I think that its more than just that. Bowery King believes he deserves a seat at the High Table but the only seats belong to ancient groups of assassins, hence why the Elder is Middle Eastern as the origin of assassins, etymologically and historically, is the middle east. The members of the Table we have seen are the asian Triads and Yakuza, The South American and Latin America Cartels, the Italian Cosa Nostra and 'Ndrangheta, the Russian Bratva and the Ruska Roma aka the gypsies.
      This covers all the major sources of assiassins as well as major organised criminal elements from history. There is a whole web of connections but the comment section doesn't allow for such discourse.

      Perhaps the Adjudicator appears in the Ballerina movie as the main villain. If the titular character was the daughter or the niece of the Ruska Roma's Director, she will want revenge on the Adjudicator for ordering Zero and his students to kill all the Ruska Roma members of the Director's mob and piercing the Director's hands with a sword as punishment for helping John Wick. Maybe the Ballerina is the one who will kill the Adjudicator and that will explain why in the fourth John Wick movie, the High Table handed all the powers that were from the Elder and the Adjudicator into the Marquis de Gramont because the Marquis controlled the actions of the High Table like the Elder and had the power to punish everyone linked to John Wick like deconsecrate the Osaka Continental and blowing up the NY Continental like the Adjudicator.

    I think he sees that the high table like most organizations that have existed for a long time has become corrupted and lost sight of what its main reason for existence is and that is to maintain order and stability. Santino brought about his death by forcing John to kill his sister then backstabbing him after it was done and then tried to use the rules of the high table to keep from having to answer for what he did. If the high table still cared about maintaining order in a just and fair way then they would have given John a pass given the situation was caused by one of their members and in giving him a pass they would also be demonstrating to all the other assassins that the high table is fair in how it deals out judgment and that it's willing to make exceptions to a rule being broking if the person braking it has a ligament reason for doing so. The way the adjudicator acted and how heavy-handed she and as a representative of the high table was in dealing out punishment was uncalled for. Everyone knew why John did what he did, so it would've been understandable to everyone if the high table had made an exception to the rule and they probably would have gained more respect by doing so but they went the totally opposite direction and I hope in chapter 5 that John ether brings down the high table or becomes head of it.

    • @HarmonyEdge
      @HarmonyEdge Год назад +1

      Things just moved a little too fast for the High Table to react, a part of which was the due to the help John had from the Bowery King. Had the High table had more time to keep John away from Santino, the alternative may have been a possibility, They should know who ordered the hit on Gianna, and may have refused to accept Santino's claim to her seat as well as also declaring him excommunicado, depending on the rules of succession on both the High Table and the Camorra.

    • @barrywhite6060
      @barrywhite6060 Год назад

      @@HarmonyEdge I understand your point but if the high table knew that the Bowery King helped John and about the 7 bullets which didn't happen til towards the end of the movie then there's no way the High Table didn't know from the beginning that Santino was responsible for his sister's death. They just didn't care until John killed him in the Continental which is what I'm talking about. To your point, if they cared they could have had the guy who's the heard of the Contental in Rome and a friend stop him and let him know the High Table was voiding Santino's order and that John was free and clear to go home but they didn't.

    • @c.ostriker5572
      @c.ostriker5572 Год назад

      @barrywh.... WELL SAID Sir, and precisely my exact thoughts on the matter. The High Table is definitely corrupted as they likely had known Santino ordered the Hit on his own sister. Had they any honor, they would have voided the debt of Wick and excommunicated Santino for good. What Santino did was as dirty and dishonorable as it gets, and surely the High Table if it adhered sincerely to maintaining FAIRNESS and order, they would have handled this a LOT differently.
      As it stands IF there is indeed a John Wick 5, I would whole heartedly accept the premise that The Bowery King, Winston and the heads of the other Continentals have had their fill of the High Table and wage war to take them down, with a returning Wick who was never dead but simply in hiding during the interim.

    As in chapter four it says it’s part of the old rules that seem to supersede excomnicardo, is there one for life debts to be repaid? Thus the king was in the right to pay it by answering John’s mad request with the pistol and seven rounds as it paid his debt no matter the outcome but the elimination of Santiago with keep the understanding as the king is under or affiliated with the high table as he deals in their currency and John now owes the debt back for the life save at the end of 3 as he burnt his counters witch again seem to over rule excommunicardo with the blood debts/oaths for a hand in a task (the old rules)?
    This now has Vengence to wards the high table/the high enforcer for the unjustified 7 cuts laid to rest at the end of 4 with John wick the babayayga death but not his real life / name
    The king knowing the old rules would explain why he comes with new suit turns up at the meetings ect but as he never introduced John to the life he is not under his family so couldn’t put him forwards
    Taking my veiw
    Also this explains that after the final shot ,the final scene the king is back to being relaxed sat with winston as the high table representative that broke the rules dealing his 7cuts has been removed and understanding restored and righted vengence was carried out and debts settled
    Will there be chapter 5 and will the Baba Yaga return under his mortal name or a new?

All of society has rules - especially in a world full of assassins but I imagine these rules don't protect the homeless, downtrodden, and feeble while is why the Bowery exists. They built an empire made of scraps.
    And well when the BK helped John he was not excummunicado and it was a perfectly fair thing for him to help John if he wanted. When the BK gave him a gun its not like he told him to go shoot someone in the Continental.

      @@doge8606 I think the point is that even though you can speculate, but some things were left vague due to time/money constraints and other things due to time.
      maybe for some of these things, there is no ONE answer. So enjoy the movie, but you won't know every detail. there might not be any more depth to be found.
