I was anticipating it too. I bought one to replace a dead bush I had. It is just now budding out here in Indiana.
I love the Chinese Snowball bush. It’s marginal in my area zone 6 so I planted a different Snowball viburnum. Doesn’t seem to grow as quickly. I also planted several Popcorn viburnum too.
I love the balance of green and flowers, it’s just going to get better and better. It’s really lovely Linda, well done

Just put a cut tennis ball over it like they put on the bottom of school chairs. Will keep water and debris out the umbrella tube and the bright color will allow you to see it. Love the garden and you have inspired me so much that my garden will be on our towns garden tour this June as the cottage garden representative. Nervous as heck but with help from your Vlogs , both books which I own and adore, will get me through. All the best from Oakville, Ontario , Canada.

Hi Linda, I was a nurse. I notice you seem very right handed. I suggest you try to use your left hand more often. When you used your mechanical clippers, u still used your right hand. Can u try to use your left when working to give your right a break. The more u use the left the more dexterity u will get. Just a thought. Love your videos! 🌺
I am the same way, using my right hand too much and understand what you are saying. I know your comment was meant for Linda's behalf, but it helps me also. Thank you for the advice.
She was wearing a brace on her left hand because of tendentious. So maybe she is kind of resting it?

I don’t use pansies for the same reason you stated. They don’t last and just become compost. I do however use faux pansies in some pots.😁
That is REALLY good advice. My 93 yo mum had a wee stroke -- it's only effect seemed to be: Her right hand closed.
She has to carry tissue in that hand to prevent the skin from breaking down.
She was SO right-hand-dominant at 90, when that happened, that now she has REAL trouble feeding herself, writing!! Poor thing!! Etc.
I asked her to try to use her left hand instead; it was useless to her (at 90). :(

Beautiful! I can tell, however, that you don’t have deer in your neighborhood. It’s been 10 years since I’ve seen a tulip bloom in my yard. The night before they are about to pop, Bambi and her extended family show up to munch off the buds. They leave the greenery for the rabbits. I’ve tried everything to deter. Nothing seems to work.
My dpg must have been a vegetarian in a previous life. He is impossible and eats all sorts of plants, including my eugenia berries (luckily non toxic) but also my clivias & hydrangeas...also toxic. so I have had to remove all plants that pose a threat!! It's very frustrating, but I love him to bits, so it's worth the sacrifice!!

On a hot day you could put ice cubes in the doggie water dish 🐾 🌷
This is definitely a “happy” video. It was fun to watch you with the little projects! Leah is adorable and it is exciting to see her learning about plants. Please be careful with your hand, wrist and arm. Rest is best to deal with the inflammation. 💕
Your front yard tulips are just beautiful!!! When I 1st saw Leah’s hands I thought she had colored eggs & got blue food coloring on them! Thanks for all your tips & tricks Linda! 🌺🌼🌸
An idea to protect the umbrella holder when there isn’t an umbrella, remove the bottom of a planter to set over the post. You could create a false bottom to continue to use the planter to make more part of the landscape.
I plant my pansies around Thanksgiving or at least by Christmas. They stay pretty all though out winter and remove them as soon as I can find Pentas for the warmer weather. Here in the Dallas area, they are wintertime plants.
I can't wait to get working in my 7 flower beds. We're still in winter here in Ontario. 🇨🇦 We start in May here.Luv your flower beds. ❤

Try using hand lotion and plenty of it to remove the paint, it usually works for me. Lather up with lotion, wash and repeat.

Hi Linda . My cross stitching and quilting hobby’s almost came to an end because of hand , mostly thumb pain. I have been wearing copper thumb rings for several years and my pain has been null and void after about two weeks. Worth a try and I’ll be buried with my rings on. 👍👍🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

My pansy viola planting habit is to get them in early. I planted them 2 weeks ago and journaled it❤in my Vater Joynal. We had three 20 degree nights and they are fine. Of course I knew they would be. After pansies I wait until May to plant annuals. These will include coleus New Guinea impatiens and begonias. But here in 7 a New York our gardens are displaying forsythia magnolia daffodils hyacinths and hellebore. I try to wear a support glove when pruning and it helps! Your viburnum is so beautiful! Nice to see how far along your garden is at this time of year! We will be getting more rain this week! Happy Easter!!!🐇💐 !!

I Love the flowers on the front yard.😍 I love tulips but have many deers 🚫🦌. They even eat thorny plants. The squirrels also dig too much of my yard but I can deal better w them.

What a full video! Thank you for showing off the snowball viburnum. It's glorious.
My sister suffered with hand arthritis for a long time. She found a doctor, a surgeon really, who injected the nerve at the base of her thumb. It was such a relief that lasted several months and then they'd repeat the process. It worked great for several years...until it didn't. Last fall, she had hand surgery to replace the tendon/ligament with a cadaver one. Her surgery and physical therapy went so well and with our mild winter, she decided to have her left hand done in February. She's still healing and limited in her movements, but she's so glad she had it done.
She cares for her two horses and several cats. She was able to sew a beautiful quilt for her youngest granddaughter who is graduating HS this summer. She made me some lovely pearl earrings (the pearls were from a necklace our dad gave our mom when he was in Japan recovering from getting shot at in Korea. So they're special for a few reasons.) So, despite her crying, "I have no hands!" She manages to get by pretty well. She's tough.
I hope you find some relief as she did.
Here in Tennessee, my hostas are starting to appear.. I Love my hostas, I have huge ones in a bed and several pots of them

I plant pansies in pots in the fall. This keeps them away from the rabbits. I learned the hard way my first year here. I had no idea that they would decimate them, roots and all. They stay beautiful from fall all the way until scorching summer comes.

I always plant my pansies in the fall. So I get several months out of them. Also I planted a Chinese snowball viburnum last year( a small one) and this spring it bloomed with two little blooms. I’m so excited!

As for planting my pansies and violas, they are winter annuals here. I live in Florida, zone 9b. Mine go in the ground around mid November or early December. They are not available in nurseries and garden centers until the weather cools a bit. They usually last until May when the heat and humidity soar.

Maybe some beautiful plant tags with the common name and the horticultural name would be nice on some of those stand out. Plants and Shrubs and people could learn as they walk by and enjoy the beauty beauty.💚

The view of the side yard is stunning as is everything. I plant pansies and violas in November (7b DC/Md). Most years they bloom all winter. In the spring I sometimes have to replenish the ones in pots. Usually, take them out early June.
Linda, try the Push thumb brace. I have the same issue with my thumbs from cutting hair for 45 yes. Recommended by an orthopedic surgeon. Amazon . It truly took the pain away. Waterproof also.

I took cuttings in the very late fall of my dragon wing begonias, 18 have survived in my house in 4” plastic pots. I hope they harden off ok in May outdoors. 🇨🇦

I do the same thing with my pansies in 7b Northern Virginia. They give me a great show in the fall, semi-hibernate in the winter (while continuing beautiful root growth) and then explode with gorgeous color in the spring. I also can’t help myself, so I add a few more in the spring.

Thank you for thinking of the doggies! Just a thought, when the weather turns warmer, put ice cubes in the water dish. My Mom use to do that for my little dachshund. From that point on, in the warmer weather, even inside the house, I would put ice cubes in all our dog’s water, through the years. I absolutely love the “snowball” bush! ❤️ I’m planting one in my garden this spring!

I plant my Pansy and Violas in Fall and they make it through winter not doing much until Feb or March. They are looking glorious right now and I'm giving them all a cut back and food. They last until about June if they have afternoon shade then I put my summer flowers in. I'm in Prescott Valley AZ zone 7

When you said "if you have a dog or child that likes to eat bushes".... I laughed out loud. Someone told the woman that azalea is poison, but prob. 90% of plants would at the very least make you sick if you eat them.

Here in Colorado, pansies are annuals. Desperate for spring, I have just planted up some containers with pansies.

The street shots of your front are quite picturesque and watching you makes me want to especially plant tulips this fall. I've never planted any and would love to give it a shot in containers. Arthritic fingers like to be kept warm. Sometimes wearing heavier gloves makes a big difference.
Your Snowball Viburnum is fabulous! I purchased one last year and am waiting patiently...I think for a miracle. LOVE everything you have done. One thought might be to consider raising the wreath on the garage door about 12". It just seems too low. Other than that, everything looks absolutely magazine worthy. You are costing me $$$ bc I run to the nursery after each video. What a pleasure!. Happy Easter!

Generally I don't plant pansies but maybe I will in a few weeks. I found the better boxwood on Plants by Mail so I ordered Skylight and ordered five total. I like that gravel. Lowes has black but holy crap it's like $35 for a bag. I guess I'm just going to stick with the kolorscape. Linda I mailed something to you today. You'll love it!
