I think people misunderstand abundance, it cares about life and not about concept good and evil, in her eyes everyone deserves to live. I think that the line from cut "age of abundance" ending from elden ring summarizes the path very well: "If thou covetest the throne, Impress my vision upon thine heart. In the new world of thy making, all things will flourish, whether graceful, or malign."
This probably applies to most of the other aeons as well, none of them even destruction is inherently evil though I did cover this topic in another video where they might be born from such morally good/bad reasons but once they become aeons theyre just obsessed with their paths. Abundance is no difference, like you mention they just want to propagate and extend all life in the universe
I think Sanctus Medicus loss their way. Aeons really dont care about anything but the continuation of their path. It didnt matter that Dan Shu renounced Lan because Aeons are still going to do their own thing. By trying to view the Aeons through a human lens is is why there are so many factions under each Aeon when in reality the Aeons dont care. Like Jing Liu said its a game to them and there will be winners and losers.
Im not sure how much changed from the time i went through dan shu's story but her motivations for renouncing Lan arent entirely due to her love for yaoshi/abundance but also her dislike of Lan given in her diary it mentions one of friends or something (might remember this wrong) died because of Lan despite her just being a doctor and being nowhere near the battlefield. So the offshoot of the sanctus medicus that Dan shu led I bet wasnt purely devoted to Yaoshi. Its also true that if you look at a lot of these factions they often skew what the path itself means or stands for, a good example is to look at the annihilation gang and nanook
@@Maevix3142 ironically enough the reason dan shu uses abundance is thed reason luofu follows hunt xianzhou hates abundance so they use hunt while dan shy uses abundance cus she resents hunt all of their worship comes from hatred
The Denizens of Abundance is probably misunderstood. Yaoshi saved many worlds, and most of those worlds are probably follower of Yaoshi. An example is how there is many Borisin and Wingweaver fleets. This meant that the group in the Denizens that is dangerous are probably the minorities, because yes the Wingweaver at first have Muldrasil but that doesn’t meant that Muldrasil is the Wingweaver only home world. The Xianzhou probably barely see the tip of the iceberg, because first of all they are close minded which meant that if the enemy they are facing have a good side they won’t acknowledge it. Secondly the Denizens of Abundance is their enemy and the Xianzhou is the type of faction that do anything to give themselves an advantage so lies isn’t below them. Therefore the current informations we have about the Denizens is probably unreliable, because not only it from a close minded enemy and their allies but also we only see a small fraction of this faction.
@charlestonho6733 This doesn't really disprove their point tho. At the bare minimum they just said we probably just a limited view of the denizens because we've only encountered the groups that are warmongering and through the lenses of the Alliance which is in constant conflict with them. It doesn't mean the evil acts they committed are lies, just that we should be open to the possibility that some races of the abundance are probably just regular people who keep to their own. We even seem to have a hint of this possibility mentioned in the video of the race allowed to dock in the Alliance Fleets despite being followers of the Abundance. It's really to early to tell which will be the case, it's a fictional world and until the writers decide to confirm it, this is all speculation.
This is why I was hoping wed get a bit more story on the abundance, if you look into the borisins, they do constantly wage war on anyone and anything they see but its largely due to their culture that views survival of the fittest as the law of the universe. When one of their leaders were captured and underwent a trial by the xianzhou it was confused why it was even sentenced thinking it didnt do anything wrong. So 1 faction within abundance acting this way doesnt necessarily mean abundance as a whole is 'evil' given those who help others and work as healers also count as contributing to abundance That said, it also brings to question yaoshi's actions, a lot of these factions were on the verge of extinction due to their nature and perhaps if left on their own they mightve just destroyed themselves into extinction and not threaten the universe at large. Yaoshi's motivation are just to ensure everything lives so by saving them does she doom others? Personally I dont think Yaoshi cares one way or another as long as the net outcome is positive (in terms of as many living creatures as possible) but its definitely an interesting path given it can be both good and evil. Plus with the xianzhou we have seen the suffering yaoshi's 'blessings' can cause
The Xianzhou Alliance has a standing policy where, even if they don't like Yaoshi, they aren't gonna 'Hunt' any particular group or bar them entry onto their ships *just* because they revere Yaoshi or have practices in line with the Path of Abundance, which we learn about in the Unshackled quest line iirc. This is likely part of the reason Luocha was even allowed onto the Luofu in the first place (assuming he didn't just keep his mouth shut about which Path he leans toward), and it also means that in the future, someone like Natasha wouldn't be bared at the gate. In truth, it really is just the Denizens/Abominations of Abundance and Sanctus Medicus who give the Abundance a bad rep. One could argue that the latter is perfectly within their rights to practice and conduct research as they please, but pretty much every member of Dan Shu's faction was apparently on board with the whole 'let's kidnap random people off the streets and force feed them mara-pills, for Science!' part of the process. And while I'm sure that there are perfectly reasonable and peaceful 'Abominations' out amongst the stars, if the Alliance is to be believed then the ones they most typically get into conflict with are barely sentient monsters that attack anything on sight, or malicious actors who are only concerned with their own survival, nourishment and propagation... ...no but seriously, how has Yaoshi NOT absorbed the Path of Propagation yet?
Like all the paths, the Abundance can be beneficial when pursued in moderation, but becomes harmful when taken to the extreme. Yes, I include Equilibrium in this, even though it's ostensibly the path of moderation itself. Sometimes the correct/righteous path is one extreme or another, and the middle ground itself is harmful.
