FYI - it also releases your phone when the car powers off the socket when you turn off your ignition - no button pressing needed. Thanks for the good demo 👍🏻
If you use it sideways it’ll mean your phone will fall. Thats not great.
@@cornevangulik6166 Only of your silly enough to let it. Any of Samsung's compatible phones than aren't a fold will be held by the lower arm. If someone ignores common sense and hangs their open top heavy fold off it sideways (in contrast to how samsung recomends), then that's their own fault. Used as directed, it shouldn't be an issue. Take some responsibility for making sensible decisions. No one complains about a cups poor design when it's lying on it's side - because that's not how you use it.
Luke, is it possible to put it on the dashboard or you can only have it on the car vent?
@@davids4356 Mine only came with vent mounts. But it is the common ball size, so should be able to find generic dash mount for it to clip into.
This only comes with an air vent mount. I'm still waiting for Samsung to get stock in as I plan on swapping out the air vent mount with an old Garmin dashboard friction mount I have lying around.
That looks like the standard Garmin 17mm Ball mount, which would mean you can use any of a plethora of mounting solutions, you aren't limited to vent mangling mounts.

I have one of those pop into your CD Player holder for my Note 10+ but I have an old school stereo & the front pops off, so if I hit a hard bump? The holder pops off because the stereo face is removable. Kinda high but just what I need..🤟
The different orientation angles is what separates Samsung from 3rd party products. I will be checking this out, thanks
The third party products that use the Garmin 17mm Ball mount would all work just like this one with relation to orientation.
Does it have be charging while on the dock? Like can you just unplug the dock and use it to just hold the phone if you don't need to charge?
YES, it should work as a dock. My Aukey fast 10w charger doesn't charge when I unplug the typeC cable (i do when it overheats due to outside temps).
Theyre pushing you to buy This overpriced Sam product. Now on my S22U, i get an error message: This fast wireless charger ISNT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE, SO IT WILL CHARGE AT STANDARD RATE" ... which is prob 3-5W !!! Bastards!! Now i understand why many fast wless car chargers clearly state that 10w max for samsung devices

Vent mounts are the worst. Please tell me that's not the only option.
Only thing with this I find is you loose the ability to adjust media volume as the button is hidden when mounted.
Other wise it's a cool buy.
I just got this today for my fold 4 and was extremely confused on how to mount it to the vent 🤣 hence why I looked for this video. Didn't like how it went in so I swapped it out for the one on my old phone holder. Much more secure than the one that came with it. Yet to see what it's like but it'll be nice to have the phone completely open while using maps
Have you tried the Samsung Galaxy Flip 3 in this charger yet,for wireless charging?I haven't seen a good charger for that phone as of yet.

Look for tablet mounts, or third party GPS mounts, they don't bother with trying to put wireless charging into those, you just have to make sure it will fit the phone... Buy from someplace with a robust return policy just in case.
Ordered this based on your video. The only negative is that I can't use android auto(wired). If I have holder plugged in I can't use AA. If I have my phone plugged in the mechanics of the charger don't work. Kind of a bummer but not a deal breaker, because I just connect to audio using bluetooth

Here is the best solution to mount this device if you have a pro clip mount and don't want to use the vent clip. Amazon sells a flat surface device the ball size is 17mm and can be mounted to a pro clip mount.
For some unknown reason it's not charging my Samsung s22 Ultra...I wonder what am I doing wrong?

This was very helpful, thanks! My Hyundai Tucson has the same vents and touch screen. My current iOttie sense was perfect for my previous vehicle when it was mounted to my dashboard, but my S20 fe is too heavy and drags the vents downwards. Might have to give this one a try!

Exactly - keeping the battery on charge at 100% continuously is terrible for it's longevity (charging up to only 80-90% will extend it's life by 2x-3x and avoids the wear that results in a weak battery that runs out in couple hours), but if you cut the power it sounds like it automatically opens the cradle arms, so no choice except to leave it charging away at it's most stressful stage of charge.

It sucks because it does not have a sunction cup option, my audi has circular car vents so this won't fit.

Can it be used folded and positioned in portrait mode, my infortainment system takes care of all my screen needs through android auto on its 10.1 inch screen so real-estate in my vehicle is precious and i just need the phone at a littke tight spot i picked out on The dash out of the way but i can still see it if necessary, i cant seem to find any reviews saying anything about that.
Very nice elegant item but what is NOT elegant is having to have the charge cable in view hanging out of the bottom, pity they didn't mount a port on the back also so for some people the cable wouldn't be in view at all.

Yes I use maps while driving and my fast charging car charger works great and charges my phone

This doesnt take into account that not all cars support wireless Android Auto and you need the charging port to be accessible for a cable. By the looks of it, its not. There are alternatives available to achieve wireless Android Auto even if your car does not support it natively, but thats just another hoop to jump through
I have a pro clip mount in my camaro and have been using a wireless charger which is not really for the z fold phone does anyone know if this samsung charger will mount to pro clips mount?
Huge disappointment that there's no windshield suction cup. For one the vent ones keep falling off my Maxima and they block the infotainment system. I might have to deal with it but I do DoorDash and that would've been nice.

I have Android auto head unit in my car just don't see the point. If I didn't have that then this would be awesome for non smart cars.
I have android auto and still use a heads up mount for my phone, but I mostly only use it when I'm hustling for a little extra money doing uber eats or instacart deliveries. Those apps do not integrate at all with android auto.

@@freakynasty101 it has an input of 15w and an effective output of 9w. Compared to a wired charger, it will be slow, but for wireless charging it is considered fast-charging.

A concern I have with this is Samsung stated with the fold 2 (and I assume the fold 3) to not wirelessly charge the device while unfolded. Are you aware if doing so won't cause any damage to the device? If it doesn't cause any issues, I'll definitely be picking one up for myself!
I haven't even heard of that issue of not charging it while it's open because of damage and I even googled it and didn't find anything

I found it on their website under a section titled "Ensure the device is folded and positioned correctly when wireless charging". If you'd like I can send you the link another way. But it is there on Samsung's website, just RUclips doesn't allow links to be shared.

The only thing I can think of is that when unfolded the phone may lean to one side, lifting the phone away from the pad creating an inconsistent connection with the wireless pad
I don't know what Samsung was thinking with this one they can't even have a 15-watt wireless charger for their phones that support 15 watt wireless charger. Like WTF you can get chargers on Amazon for cheaper than this that can do 15 watt

It needs a 15 watt adapters to send 9 watts to the phone... Most wireless chargers claiming to be 15 watt wireless are like that. Samsung is just being slightly transparent about it.

NO GOOD. Bought one. One of the feet broke after 6 months. Useless after that. The feet only have 2mm thick plastic. It is designed to break.

You can't charge it in the orientation you first had in because the battery and the coils have to align with the actual pad it can't be partially on it so that's why you have to flip the orientation

When I get in my car I connect my fold 2 to my radio to enjoy my android auto and for it fast charge my phone as well. Why would I wireless charge my phone in my car when I have wireless charger in my house? ......hard ass pass.
