On this episode of Love 225, we are celebrating literature and local authors with a number of authors as WBRZ is in the middle of the third annual Brandi’s Book Drive.
First, we talk to author Murlonda Janelle who published her first children’s book in an effort to motivate her nephews. With character’s that match their name and swagger, this book series as a both a special origin and a special message.
Then, we revisit our “smoked out” special guest, Calvin Collier. With his restaurant Smoke Bayou, he is staking his claim as the pit master of the Capital region.
We also revisit our interview with the Hip Hop Doc, Dr. Rani Whitfield, who threads his special message of living healthy and happy lives through his medical practice and his music. He talks about his children’s book, R.J. Did It, based on his son. He and R.J. give us a special performance alongside students from Southern Lab.
