On today's episode, one of the most important ingredients in crayons is made in Baton Rouge, bringing color to millions of young kids each day. It’s a very colorful contribution to one of the most used tools in classrooms around the world.
We’re also visiting Scotlandville for a good ole’ cup of joe. Southern Cofe' has brought a laid back coffee shop vibe near Southern University. Owner Horatio Isadore says this is the manifestation of what he hoped to do twenty years ago when he was a student at SU.
This year is the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, and there's a documentary series highlighting the history of Hip Hop in Baton Rouge. Part one is available for free on Tubi-TV, and we have a sneak peek at part two, which is due out later this year. We're talking to the producers of the series, and they'll share stories on some of the Capital City's most successful hip hop artists.
