- Remember cousins Claude and Eustace? They are back again, "and more or less generally admitted to be the curse of the human race"
Written in 1922 and set in the Cotswolds this story follows on directly from Comrade Bingo Has a Bad Goodwood.
If you have a moment do look in on brother Richard's Cotswold Woollen Weavers. The details will pop up on screen during the story.
Thank you all for the warm and appreciative comments below and I'm pleased you liked it. A good story and have you noticed, as ever its summer time in Bertie's land - which makes a welcome escape from our present dive into British mid winter! Cheers all
THANK YOU FOR THE STORY READING!!! IT'S THE BEST MONDAY MORNING I HAVE HAD FOR A LONG TIME! IT'S THE BEGINNING OF WINTER IN NORTHERN GREECE...IT'S COLD AND IT'S RAINING AND I AM HAPPY TO STAY AT HOME!!!
God love your little cotton socks young gentlteman! I deeply appreciate your immaculate dulcets, wafting me off to sleep every night. My cat who sleeps on the bed seconds that.

So true, I hadn’t noticed that!
(Lol; also a lovely get-away for Those of Us in Canada!)
Best author combined with best narrator! Love these stories!
What a thrill to log on and find a new story! Thank you so much Nick ❤
You have spoiled me for every other reader of the works of P. G. Wodehouse, Mr. Martin. Your voice characterizations fit my mental images of Berty, Jeeves, et al, perfectly.
Thank you Nick, another wonderful read. Such a delight! 🌺
Ah Nick, thank you so much. I’ve listened to your readings over and over. Hearing you read a new one is a marvellous early Christmas gift. I don’t think that you realize how much real pleasure that you give us all. I’m grateful to you for taking the time to do it. You’ve made me a very happy old battleaxe. Big hugs from Canada
Couldn’t agree more I enjoy your reading very much you really bring the characters to life. Such a pleasant surprise to find this thank you

Hooray 👏👍🌹Lord Nick’s brave new read .
That was a completely new PG Wodehouse story to me. Very entertaining, I listened with great enjoyment while making hot cross buns (there's nothing like an audiobook as an accompaniment to kneading dough). Thank you so much.
From a lifelong Wodehouse devotee who is highly critical of any poor rendition of PGW’s work and who knows most of the oeuvre inside out and backwards, I think these readings are extremely well done. Thank you.
Thank you for that! Have a great Boxing Day.
One of my favourites. Thanks
Love the puppydog singing bloopers❤🐾
Huzzah! A new Jeeves and Wooster story from Tricky Nick! A cause for rejoicing!
Thank you, Nicky. You are a life saver.
Thanks! So happy to see another story up here. Yay!
Thank you!
Oh joy, Nick Martin narrates, thank you!!!!!!!!!
These are beautifully done. Thank you for making these available to us. My hubby and i got hooked on the TV show, then I found the radio show with Sir Richard Briers and yours are easily as good.
Dear Martin, I love your narration so much , it’s extraordinary ! 😊
I agree. You are very talented Mr Martin
This is excellent. I've been searching for a good reading of this story for months: here it is at last. Very well done indeed.
The Inimitable Jeeves read by The Inimitable Martin. This is a good day, indeed!
Thanks you so so much. What a delightful find this evening 🙏😊😁💚🌏
Splendid ! Jolly good show to have this rather spiffing story read to me this joyful morning. Many thanks to you 🙏🏼 📜✍️ 😊
excellent as always.
Thank you, lovely to hear you back .
Thank you, thank you! What a delight it was to receive a notification that we have a new Wodehouse story! My dear Alzheimer’s client, who’s followed Wodehouse for years, smiles and laughs at all these stories. You bring such joy to us both with your superb reading ❤
How lovely to know that! Thank you so much and the very best wishes to you and the lady in your care.
Wodehouse was a saintly man who applied anaesthesia to our perception of reality by removing us from it. Such is the horror of this existence we call life.
A great narration. Thank you. And loved the bloopers at the end.
Thank you, Finn likes to join in sometimes!
Thank you once again for a great narration!
Now my Sunday is perfect! Thank you Nick xx
Wow! thank you so much for another reading. Your readings are absolutely spiffy and out of this world. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Excellent, I’d forgotten that one!
Lol; I enjoyed the out-takes a lot!!
Thank you! The outtake at the end was perfect
Just found this. Thank you so much xxx
By jingo Tricky, what a spiffing wheeze.
My dearest Lord “M” - my apologies for arriving late for tea! I just discovered this and listened with joyful enthusiasm. Hats off to you and Finn; a most charming and delightful read! Cheers, julie
Ah, never too late for tea - the kettle's never cold!
Yes, Finn is thinking of going solo before long - cheers!
A good laugh 👍
Awesome, just a joy!
O my word the last bit had me rolling! 😂 Love it! Finn just wanted to be heard & I loved it!😍 You are sooo good that I get lost & forget for a few seconds that it's just you. The entire thing was excellent but the Bloopers/rehearsal (whatever ya want to call it) very much needed! TYSM for leaving it in to share with us! You have been missed! Ty for taking the time! Give Finney(?) a scratch behind the ears from me 😘😊 O what the heck give yourself one too Ha-ha😁
Thanks! Finn tells me he thinks he could manage a whole show solo next time if he could have a scratch off everyone.
Nice to see u back! Thanx!
Great stuff don't you know.. I like the outtake at the end.
I love the bloopers!
Finn was trying telling ya how it should be done...too funny!
😄👏👍🏼😘
Yes, he's a cheeky young whippersnapper alright!
Marvelous reading, Mr. Martin, thank you so much!

One of my favourite stories
Ive just found you & subscribed 👌
These are Fabulous readings - I’ve always wanted to read these stories but I struggle with Dyslexia. What a delight to have PG Wodehouse’s books read to me 😊 Thank you
Loved the outtakes!
Delightful outtakes at the end!
I 🤍🩵🩷🩵🤍the “SINGing” bass hound!
(at the end- FIN.(!)
Cheers!🩶🍾🥂
I like the woven wool throws. Great idea!
And you can have one delivered to your door!
... and there I agree! What can be better than listening to brother Nick as Bertie... while wrapped in a woollen throw woven in good old England!
London temperatures may get to 75 degrees in summer. Raving on about how "beastly hot" that is is positively hilarious. Those dainty little people people would surely expire over the course of a Texas summer. How any of them ever endured India or Nairobi is a mystery.
I think Wodehouse and Kipling were describing young Englishmen at opposite ends of the distribution curve.
I'm a Nairobian and actually our weather is very mild compared to what I've experienced in the "temperate zones". Perfect for the dainty!😅
Thanks!
OH JOY.. I just found a great Christmas present.. Thank you Mr M 👌🏼🍾🥂♥️
Great! There is a sequel to that just gone up - The Metropolitan Touch. Merry Christmas!
@@Trickynickymarts Please just keep em coming. Your a haven in the storm…I could listen to you reading the phone book..🤪
I'm seriously considering saying "what?" after all profound statements, like Bertie. Can an American get away with it?😂
The best people will appreciate it.What?😊
YEAH, SUUUUURE!
I absolutely adore Jeeves.
Loved the bloopers & sing dog!🐕
Your brother's shop...I want to get on the next plane! Worse, I want a sofa! Thanks.
The weaving brother here... clever old Nick, and what can be better than wrap yourself in a woollen throw, and settle down to a good long listen to young Bertie W.
Thank you
Thanks 🎉
Finnie singing💕🐾
Thank you so much!
